    The whole place drips with the style and care of the owner. It's warm, nuanced, interesting, and welcoming. The cocktail menu is *excellent*. The Rob Roy is a personal favorite. JP is truly fortunate to have the updated and relocated Haven. (Formerly on the roundabout on Centre St.)

    Always a hit, excellent vibes and high-quality fare. Bonus points for being a great spot when one is homesick and needs a wee dram, pint of the heavy, and some fabulous smoked fishcakes and oatcakes.

    This restaurant is absolutely amazing and a must visit to taste and drink a bit of Scotland was nice to visit and remind me of my home the staff are brilliant and quick the food was lovely will be back soon as I can.

    Everything about this place is very good. You get the feeling of being in an upscale Scottish restaurant/pub. The servers are knowledgeable and pleasant. The food is very good. Authentic Scottish appetizers - especially the wild boar sausage roll! The fish and chips are the best in the city (and I am a HUGE fan of quality fish and chips!). The shepherds pie is beyond delicious. The beer selection is top notch and the Scotch selection is incredible.

    I went for the haggis and I wasn't disappointed. Wonderful veggies surrounded it. The cheese bridies were delicious. We ordered a 3rd order after the first two had been eaten. Best of all for me, was the Israeli congac. Superb! Everybody was happy at our table for 6.

    Our server was kind and nice, but unfortunately not prepared, or maybe did not understood English in the environment we were in, or had a hearing deficit? This made basic communication with our table and others in our section complicated. Orders were not put in, they were confused, and communication took a very long time to request straight forward menu items. I say this for maybe extra training or perhaps another role? The food was nice and ambiance was lovely, but service was chaotic and terrible.

    The Haven is in its new space and it is cozy and comfortable. There were 4 of us to celebrate a 40th anniversary for myself and my wife and a milestone event for our friends. The service was attentive as they seemed to have back-up help if our main waiter got busy with his other tables. The menu is limited but the food is way above regular bar food.

    We had meals at The Haven on two different occasions and found the food both times exceptional. On a Thursday evening we were able to walk in and get a table, on a Friday evening we had a reservation. Each time we were greeted and seated promptly. Our drinks were ordered and arrived at our table in no time and then our delicious meals. Our burgers were cooked exactly the way we like them! The salmon and fried fish were excellent. We will return. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience with you.

    Went to Haven for a Monday trivia night. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and came out quickly. We got shrimp scampi, macaroni and cheese, lamb sausage pizza, a burger, and toffee pudding- to be honest, I was worried Scottish food would be blah, but everything was very good. It was a little more expensive than I usually expect to pay for pub food, but I overall I had a great experience. Ticco did a great job with the trivia- our team didn’t win, but had a really good time doing it!

    The ambience really stands out at The Haven. It evokes an old Scottish hunting lodge--quail wallpaper, antler chandeliers, tartan upholstery, and a very cheeky oil painting in the lounge area. It's much more comfortable than the old place on Perkins. The owner Jason Waddleton showed us to our booth and the service was impeccable. The food here is consistently great. I can recommend their burger, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, fish and chips and hunter's chicken. My dinner companions had tried the haggis before and liked it, but that's not for me. They also like the Scotch eggs. There are some uniquely Scottish things on the menu like Irn Bru, a soda that tastes like bubblegum, and rumblethumps, a baked mashed potato type thing that is very tasty. Pizza may not be Scottish but practicality is. The Haven has taken advantage of the pizza oven that came with the place, and they serve up some excellent pies. The Haven is one of my favorite Boston dining establishments!

    We sat outside on the patio. Not sure they take reservations for the patio (ours was for dining room), but we asked when we got there and they obliged. Food was great, we really enjoyed our dinner. Will go again

    We were rushed the entire meal. It was not crowed, there were ample staff members, but there was too much "checking in" on the two of us. Our appetizer was brought out and 3mins later the main course. We were very surprised and received the message that the wait staff has either been trained this way or are themselves accustomed to being rushed in restaurants. I am do not like my food salty, but the food needed more seasoning if it was not a soup or stew dish. Unfortunately, I do not believe I will return.

    This is a great, cozy spot to have dinner with friends and enjoy a dram of unique whiskey. Even if haggis isn't your thing, you'll be able to find something to your taste on the menu. And if haggis is your thing, you'll love it here with a pint of Belhaven. Waitress was super. Good volume in the room even with a lot of people and music playing (at a very reasonable volume--good tunes too). Only slight hurdle is location. not a fun drive to get here. Save yourself the twists and turns and take the Orange line. Well worth the journey though!

    It's a great spot. We love it. However, does every iced drink have to come with a black plastic straw? Suggestion: eliminate all that plastic or at least ask the customer if they need to sip though a plastic straw. Also the box for take-out was more plastic. I'd opt for the cardboard option. As for service, it was somewhat interruption and intrusive at times, which seems to plague many American restaurants. A bit helicopter style. Then without warning the music amped up around 08:30 on Friday evening for an event. The restaurant needs to give folks just having dinner a heads up on that.     A great place with excellent food, even better drink, and an atmosphere that is welcoming and swanky at once. I recommend it for dates and for family meals. Check out their website for events--they have many and you might see one that interests you.

    We were there for a special scotch tasting night and decided to eat at the restaurant beforehand. The food was delicious and there were selections which were authentic Scottish as well as more standard fare. The cocktails were delightful. The event itself was magnificent! Such originality and great fun. It's part of their dram night series and I highly recommend it. An inspired restaurant and a wonderful spirit exemplified by the owner, who ran our event. He went to a lot of trouble and thought, & it was truly appreciated. We will be back! (Check out their events calendar for more.)

    I loved this place from the original spot and came in their first days at the new location. The food was disappointing on that visit back last December. I finally came again recently, ordering the same thing to see if that one bad meal after years of good ones was just a wrinkle as they settled in to the new digs. It was. Now, again, the peas had a crunch texture. The beer was served cold in the right glass. The fries were crispy outside and almost fluffy inside. I was offered malt vinegar. And most important, the coating of the fish had the thin, crispy, not oily texture I'd learned to love, and the fish inside had all its integrity. It was brought piping hot; the steam exploded from the interior once I cut into it. The staff were on top of things, relaxed, and friendly. My friends' meals were also just right. This is a superb place.

    It was an outstanding dinner. The Haven Burger and Fish Super hit the spot. Especially those chips. Topping off the meal was a incredible Highland Old Fashioned - made right with no muddled orange or atomic red cherry. It was so good we ordered a second. Ending the night we went with the Sticky Toffee Pudding….OMG. We will be back…even if it’s just for the pudding.

    I have a new favorite restaurant! Omg- the burger was amazing! And the potatoes- amazing. The sticky toffee pudding was fabulous. The server was patient, professional and kind! Overall—- Yummmmm.
