I had an excellent evening at Talula’s Garden. Our waitress was very lively, helpful and patient. She gave us a lot of input on our food and drink options as it was our first time there. The dinner was absolutely delicious. We had the meatballs on ricotta (I believe) toast and strawberry goat cheese salad to start, and they were excellent and light enough starters before our main courses. The entrees themselves were also very, very decadent. Our dessert, the caramel cookie and ice cream, was mouthwatering. And of course the garden was absolutely gorgeous on this spring night.
The tasting menu was AMAZING! It's an experience. I definitely recommend it - the wine pairing also was well worth it - generous pours and perfect with the dishes. Excellent!
We loved everything we ordered and the service was impeccable. I'll be dreaming about those duck confit crepes for a long time. I'll definitely return next time I'm in Philadelphia.
Our favorite restaurant for celebrating a special event.
The food we tried was nice, but not extraordinary or outstanding (with the exception of the dessert- strawberry cheesecake). So in my view, compared to other restaurants in Philly with similar food, it was overpriced.
The service and the ambience, however was excellent.
Great cheese boards Excellent duck Very weak wine list with low level selections and massive markups but this seems to be he case everywhere in Pennsylvania Something to do with alcohol laws
Excellent food and service. Not inexpensive, but for a special occasion or if you want to impress, a truly great spot. We ordered the tasting menu. Be forewarned; it is a lot of food!
Amazing! Flavors were amazingly matched. Atmosphere was beautiful, staff wonderful.
Sensational food, great service, ambience, and we had an amazing time... I recommend every single dish on the menu!!!
By all means, sit outside! What a lovely garden to sit and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
Food was delicious. Service is impeccable. Place is gorgeous. Special kudos to the reception desk.
$23.00 for an omelet, potato, small green salad. Bread of any kind was not offered at brunch. Seating in garden is way too tight.
Tracy our sever made excellent suggestions for brunch. It has been my third time dining here. One of my favorites!! I always bring a guest who has never been. The experience is always wonderful! Thank you for having us! See you soon.
My wife and I have gone to Talula's Garden annually for her birthday the last several years. Other than the year that we had to eat inside because it was pouring rain and the year that we had to eat inside because of the crowds (both were still great meals), we have always eaten in the garden, and we have never been disappointed in the service or the meal. This trip was no exception, even with the exuberance of the Pride Parade in front of the restaurant to start! Our server was spectacular, the French country cheese plate was amazing, the grits were the best we've ever had, the drinks & meals recommended by our server were awesome, and the staff brought out a dessert for my wife's birthday.
The food and cocktails were amazing. The service was fantastic and the ambience was beautiful.
Outstanding dining experience! We started at the bar with fabulous cocktails and appetizers. The dinner was delicious and the wine selection was decent. Friendly and attentive staff. Always a great dining experience, one of our favorites.
One of my all time favorites. They never disappoint!
Food was well prepared. Our waitress Christina very knowledgeable and helpful. Dinners came out quickly. We enjoyed a cheese board after the meal. Will go back!
Beautiful outside setting . Great plate presentation .
Menu was fantastic, start to Finish every dish was amazing
Waiter was great with gluten free!
The food seemed off. I wasn’t a huge fan this time.
Gave us extra dessert for our anniversary! Let us sample wines before making a decision. Waitress was great!
I’ve always found Stephen Starr restaurants to be big on atmosphere but the food less inspiring. However, his partnering with Aimee Olexy proves to be a big positive. Try to eat in the garden though the inside is just as beautiful. We did so on a beautiful spring night and it was perfect. If you eat outside, try to get a table more towards the wall. Otherwise, you’ll have dozens of people walking by you coming in.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant anytime of the year
We went to Talula’s Garden for dinner and the weather was perfect to sit outside. It is a little oasis in Center City Philadelphia, sitting outside you forget that you are in the city. There are lots of choices on the menu and they have an extensive wine list, from reasonable to expensive. We decided to get wine by the glass as we wanted different types. They also have a selection of beers, with lots of pilsners and lagers for summer. My wife had a ceasar salad with smoked fish, it was was large enough for a main course and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the tuna tartar, which was also excellent and had lots of different flavors to enjoy, complementing the tuna. For the main course we both had Mediterranean Sea bass a favorite of mine. It was perfection, we both considered it one of the best fish dishes to have. There was also Scottish salmon, New England scallops, duck pork and apples, steak and eggs and chicken. There were lots of sides to choose from as well, all with a different touch. There are pasta dishes to choose from as well. The desserts are also interesting, we shared the hot, little sugar donuts which were delicious. There are lots of after dinner drinks to choose from, but I had coffee which is served in a French press and was a great way to finish off my meal. The wait staff are very friendly and our waiter was there to provide anything, but not intrusive. He knew exactly when to come by and see if there was anything else we wanted. The rest of the wait staff was there to refill water glasses and were very observant to make sure my wife got sparkling water and I got plain water.
Talula’s Garden is definitely worth a visit or several visits to sample the rest of their menu. So if you are in Center City and you want a little escape go to Talula’s Garden and enjoy!
Everything was perfect. Food was amazing, waiters were super helpful and the atmosphere was incredible. I’d recommend to anyone and go back for sure.
Great time. Excellent food and service.
The "crab and spaghetti" had no crab taste at all. Our server kindly removed it from the check.
The wine is very over-priced.
To be fair, I had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday but didn't want anything done. We did receive something with no fanfare, which was a nice gesture.
Romantic dinner with my hubby
Love this place. Took my mom here for her birthday dinner and we loved it. We shared a small cheese board followed by multiple small plates and sides. The tuna crudo was by far my favorite. We finished it off with the donuts for dessert and had a relaxing night out to eat. We realized we haven't been here in 7 years, 7 years too long. We'll be back again this summer but with the whole family in tow. :)
Keep up the great work!! Beautiful venue and fabulous food!!
Food was amazing. Seating in the outdoor garden was a little tight.
Very loud but everything was outstanding.
We have come here for the last 6 years fornour anniversary. Love it
Lovely. Great food and great atmosphere. Loved it!
Service was excellent as was each dish.
The service was impeccable- friendly but not pushy. Very efficient- well coordinated. There were lovely vegetarian options when we asked
We were in Philadelphia for a wedding and stayed a few days to enjoy that lovely city. Our hotel was close to Talula's Garden and we reserved for our last night before returning home. It was a lovely experience. The service was personal, warm and friendly but not intrusive or overbearing. The brioche with cayenne honey butter was a delightful start to an outstanding dinner. I had sea bass and my husband had braised lamb pappardelle. We split a smoked trout caesar salad as a start. Everything was beautifully prepared and delicious. My only regret about the food is that we live on the west coast and I don't know when I'll be able to get back to try the other entrees. It was a hard choice. The wine list is excellent and there's a good selection of beers. We decided against dessert but my husband ordered a fernet branca and it was a generous pour. Oh, and one other regret. We booked an early table hoping to sit outside, but stopped to chat with our hotel desk person and missed the last (first come first serve) available outside table. Maybe next time. I hope there's a next time :-)
Service was exemplary. Server helped us navigate around food allergies and intolerance.
Loved everything about Talulah's Garden. The ambience was charming, service was great and all our meals were amazing. We did not have to wait long for a table. We all enjoyed everything!
This was a beautiful place for brunch. Indoor or outdoor seating is gorgeous. Phenomenal drinks, food and atmosphere was amazing
