   The food was great but you could tell our server wasn’t happy to be at work so kind of just put a damper on the evening. No offense but if we are paying that much for a meal we expect exceptional service.

   Excellent redfish, grouper and seabass. We were a party of 4 and went there for lent. All 4 dishes were fresh and paired perfectly with sides. Great Service

   We choose the location because it was near a show. We were attending later in the evening. It allowed for us to park one and walk the two two blocks to the event. For a steakhouse, the sides were not shareable as they generally are at steak houses. They don’t own an espresso machine. There was no drink menu. The dessert was very limited, and all fruit flavored. No printed dessert menu. We ordered the banana crème brûlée, and it arrived. Cool to room temperature. I was hoping for warm and freshly torched. Our server was very courteous and helpful with our decision making. We did half to ask for another drink, but I wish he would have been more attentive and asked when he saw the empty glass on the table.

   Atmosphere and service were excellent; however, the meal was not to its usual standard. The fish was over cooked and hardly any crab meat in the entree to say I paid the amount of money for what I am used to being served.

   We arrived a few minutes late but the host was very gracious and accommodating. He promptly greeted us and found our reservations and sat us. It went downhill from there. The glasses on the table were dirty - clearly had food on the glass and silverware. One glass had a half lip with lipstick on the rim. A simple check of glass while setting the table would have caught this. Same with silver, a simple check before wrapping the silver should have caught this. It just set the mood or gave us the feeling of a restaurant that lack cleanliness. I have been here countless times, and never encountered this. It took the server at least 20 minutes to come to the table. The water was basic. Did nothing more than take the order and disappeared only return to bring the check before asking it we wanted desserts or coffee. Someone else brought out our food - which was at room temperature. Overall, terrible experience. I wish a i could have said otherwise because I have had many many good experiences.

    The Lamb lollipops were delicious. Server was gracious. The only con was when we initially walked in the host did greet us until another hostess greeted us and directed us to our seats

    The experience was great! We got lobster gnocchi, drinks, steak, potatoes, and redfish! It was DELICIOUS! Making reservations on this platform made it so much easier.

    Over the years we have highly recommend this place on multiple platforms and to personal connections. This was our first time back post Covid and we were sadly disappointed and this has been my husband and I’s spot for years. Much of the menu has changed as like many restaurants in this class do seasonally. This menu refresh needs much reflection by the chef/or critiquing the cooks in proper execution. I just can’t imagine the chef tasting our items and saying Yes! That is damn near perfect! The lady at the hostess stand I’m assuming it was floor manager “bossy hairclip”—-was so rude and unwelcoming upon entry. Put a bad taste in your mouth for a restaurant that has always been so welcoming and friendly. Our server was excellent balancing his tables and kind.

    My husband’s birthday is New Year’s Day so we decided to do dinner here New Year’s Eve. Terrible decision. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated, waited another 20 minutes waiting for a server once we were seated. We only got a server because my husband (the birthday guest) had to walk up to the front of house staff and remind them we didn’t have a server. We waited about an hour to finally get our food, the bar was so backed up, we never got our cocktails and opted for a bottle of wine. Our dinner was served lukewarm once we finally got it (an hour after we placed the order). Our server was actually kind but it was too late to make up for such poor service all around.

    Extremely overpriced for the quality of food and portion sizes. The meat was mediocre at best and over cooked. Environment was welcoming and service fairly efficient; however we still left unsatisfied at the experience.

    When going to Stroubes we expected to pay a lot, but to also get what we paid for. Having been around for years and having a good reputation our expectations for the experience were high. While our server was attentive and the ambiance was nice, the food was lacking quite literally. While it tasted delicious we unfortunately left hungry. While some restaurants may give oversized portions, this was not expected, but we did expect to leave satisfied. The salmon strip was minuscule and the redfish portion was quite small as well. We ordered sides and while the portions of potatoes au gratin and fries were fine, my daughter found the asparagus (without hollandaise) lacking. We should not spend over 210 without the tip and leave discussing what there is to eat at home. We are no strangers to fine dining, and this experience was disappointing.

    Drinks were great! The manhattan with a twist was delicious! Brie cheese app was really good as well. The entrees were okay. Overall for price of the entree the portion was somewhat small and not very flavorful. The short rib was cooked perfectly but the pasta was kinda bland. Service was great as well.

    What happened to this place? It used to be great. Great food, excellent service. We were sat in an empty restaurant and still received terrible service. Never took a drink order. Just filled water cups approximately once. Had to repeatedly ask for water. Finally another server refilled. Appetizer of mac and cheese was brought out lukewarm. It had great flavor but needed to be warmed up. Lunch of fried green tomatoes and shrimp was pretty good but needed more than a tiny drizzle of sauce. Dessert was creme Brule with no sugar crust in a tiny ramekin. Brought coffee with floating grounds in it and stated "there's no cream, but it tastes good with sugar." Waitress acted like she couldn't wait to get us out of there. It was our office Christmas lunch and it was pretty dismal. Everyone was disappointed.

    Great steaks. We had the dry aged filets, seabass and a Ribeye. The Ribeye was cooked perfect and had just enough fat in it. That's be best part of the Ribeye. Nice wine selection also

    I was really surprised by the taste of the food. Maybe because I was thinking Ruth Chris Flavor and quality of steak or Stabs or the ChopHouse in New Orleans. But I tasted steak that could have been cooked at a low-grade, not so upscale restaurant. for the price of $250 for a couple. Not worth it. They should bring back their chicken and waffles with the same steen syrup.

    My family and I went for my husband’s birthday and was very excited to see that this restaurant served the wagyu steaks. I wanted to surprise him because this was the only restaurant in Baton Rouge to serve this specific beef and he wasn’t impressed. The negative side of this restaurant is the portions are small and the price is way too expensive. Ive been to another steakhouse in Baton Rouge and was absolutely pleased with price and portions. The appetizers are tiny, the chef specials are tiny, and way over priced. I will not be back to this steakhouse because in my opinion Ruth Chris is much better

    We went for the opening night special for BRSO. Stroubes had a specific dinner for that evening. My friend ordered the filet, I ordered the grilled redfish. Waitress brought 2 red fishes and when brought to her attention she was like no you ordered the redfish. So we ate it. The skin was not crispy. The salt level of the entree was a little low. But fish was cooked beautifully otherwise. The salad was delicious. The dessert was their famous bread pudding. The bread pudding part was delicious. The flambé sauce or sauce was like taking a straight shot of whatever liquor they used. It completely overwhelmed the dish.

    Service is mediocre; steaks mediocre at best for value. Charged $12 for five strawberries with the tops cut off and some Hershey's chocolate syrup job on top. Quality was poor and steaks not even seasoned. Didn't show us special til after apps and drinks ordered. Beware a $500 crappy dinner you could have had a much better unique experience with good food and service when in BR BEWARE! Worst meal all week.

    My friend and I had tickets to the ballet and your servers are always attentive to our time. As always, your chefs cook fish perfectly and portions are never too much. One of my favorite places to dine before an event downtown.
