What Insiders Are Saying
Stoneburner is an Italian-American spot in Ballard with good neapolitan pizza and decent everything else, though the pastas are a crap shoot.
Great, olives with mozzarella inside were a big hit! Interesting food, very nice overall
Service was a bit slow but the food was good. The waitress was really nice and accommodating.
Stoneburner was amazing! We had the burrata and the pizzas, they we all awesome!! I can’t wait to go back.
We took my Dad and his wife to celebrate his birthday. It was a Sunday evening so it was slow and quiet. The staff was super accommodating, the food was great and the atmosphere was perfect.
A fun environment, with very good service and good food! The sommelier is excellent! It's one of our favourites.
Stoneburner never disappoints. Service was outstanding. The food was delicious. We will be back!
The food was delicious! We are vegetarian and gluten free, but there were many fantastic options for us to order. Every dish was so tasty. My only complaint was how fast it all came out! It would have been nice to linger over our meal instead of getting bombarded with 6 plates all at once. Next time I’ll know to request this.
Very nice indeed. Only minor complaint is it was cold and bit drafty where we were sitting (near the kitchen entrance).
Stoneburner is one of my favorites in Seattle. Always great food and service! The menu is constantly changing with the seasons and their moods-great dishes! I can count on a great experience every time.
We had a lovely brunch at Stoneburner. Alfred took great care of us and offered perfect suggestions. Every dish we had great flavor we had Heuvos Tomate, Biscuits and gravy as well as the Big Toast. All in all we would go back again. The decor is great as well and watching the chef at the stone fire was fun.
Wonderful and delicious shared meal to celebrate a friend’s 50th. Don, our waiter, was phenomenal. We could not have asked for a better experience.
We enjoyed Stoneburner on Christmas eve.... was a wonderful evening.
Had a very nice evening. Food was good, although they ran out of a pasta that we wanted so we had the pork chop which takes 30+ minutes to cook and it was dry and too spicy.
Shaved Brussels however, it will be our last.
Secondly, we commented to waitress our displeasure but received a disingenuous response.
they really need to sort out their entrance. if you're sitting anywhere near it the cold air that blows in from the opening threatens numb fingers and icy ears.
My girlfriends and I, love to meet here for our Sunday brunch. It’s not too loud, it’s spacious and excellent food and service.
I would give it an overall 5 star rating however the dinner experience started extremely bad as soon as we were getting seated. We had made reservations for 4 people for my wife's 40th bday a few weeks in advance, stating that it was for a bday. When we arrived, we were seated at what I would say is the worst table in the restaurant. It's directly next to the kitchen line and the table next to it is literally so close that it might as well be a table of 8 (it's awkwardly close).
We expressed some disappointment to the host which he basically said there was nothing he could do, and said he would move the other table next to us, which he did, about 1/3 of an inch (we actually laughed because it almost felt more like an insult) even though several other tables were open. My friends husband finally got up and asked again if there was any way to get any other table in the restaurant as we were simply going to leave and go elsewhere.
That is when the manager came out, spoke to us, relocated us to a table of 4 in the bar and the experience was excellent. The manager really was genuine and understood our let down when we had first arrived and he handled the situation exceptionally.
It was just unfortunate in the beginning because when you make reservations weeks in advance, the last thing you would expect is to get the worst table in the entire restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting the best table by any means, it was just a shock that walk-ins were getting better tables than our group of 4 that made reservations weeks prior.
Once we started dinner, the service was top notch, food & drinks were great. Everyone absolutely loved the experience and I think this is such a great place to come for food that the table can share and some really tasty cocktails. Thankfully for their manager, they saved a $400+ table of 4 that night.
I had a generally great experience at Stoneburner's. I had the steak meal, which was out of this world, although a little overpriced I thought at $31. Great, excellent Caesar salad with the hominy croutons just a little different and much better than regular ones, and a nice dressing with egg. My fiancee had the spaghetti, with bone marrow stock, which she was disappointed in, but I tasted it and found it to be interesting and unusual, and frankly good. So all in all, coupled with a great server, we had a fun and pleasant birthday (hers) dinner.
My friends and I went to Stoneburner to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing time. The food is delicious. I recommend getting a couple starters, a pasta, and a pizza to share. You will definitely want to taste it all!
The place was packed and very busy, but the wait staff was still very attentive and helpful. I was happy that I had brought my friends from South Carolina there.
Service was great. Our waitress took care of us. Great Dinner!!!!
I’ve been here several times and it’s never disappointed. Great atmosphere and incredible food!
Great date with Bae!
The food here was incredible, the cocktails were great, and the ambiance was perfect for our date night.
I've eaten at Stoneburner many times. The food is generally quite good, the bar and restaurant are handsome and the neighborhood is great for walking around after a meal. This time I was there with a friend and we both enjoyed our food. However, the music was too loud and it took us a while to settle in and focus on each others so that we could enjoy a good conversation. I don't appreciate your insistence on calling all that noise "energetic."
Despite the noise level, I return to Stoneburner because I generally like the food, particularly the brunch options. This Saturday, I particularly liked the avocado Big Toast after getting over my disappointment that the poached eggs on polenta cakes were no longer on the menu.
We loved the fact that we were able to order and share our plates and our waitress was the nicest! We will definitely come again.
Girls dinner! We had the friendliest waitress. Can’t wait to go back
It took ages to get our food.
The pizza was burnt. The waiter said, it’s because it’s made in an oven. To be fair, pizza at other tables was not burnt.
Meat and fish were very salty. They teplaced the fish when we asked. Other people in our group decided to finish their burnt and salty dishes, because getting new ones could have taken just as long, and we were already too hungry.
The meat and fish dishes looked good though.
Great place for a date. Pizza was slightly over cooked and some of the toppings got burn. Appetizers and drinks were great!
Excellent spot. Great location. Great cocktails. All the food was amazing. A little pricey, but worth it.
I was in town on business and therefore eating alone, so I ate in the bar. The bartender, Nathan, was extremely helpful and friendly with food recommendations, and suggestions on how to spend my time in Seattle as well. It was a beautiful place with a great atmosphere and friendly people.
The restaurant was great, and the service was great along with the food. I will definitely make another visit.
Fantastic spot for your casual nights, friends, and significant other special dates. Any reason will do to have dinner at Stoneburner. Environment was busy but wasn't insanely loud, conversation was easy. Very welcoming. Service was fantastic. Our waitress gave great recommendations and pairings, along with great service. Dinner was wonderful. All the wines we tried was terrific. Charcuterie was divine and plentiful. Small plates were in season and superb. And lastly our main plates in pasta and pizza were marvelous. We waddled out on very happy on full tummies. High recommended!
The food is always excellent here. The small plates are excellent for sharing and there are several vegetarian options. We especially enjoy it when we have our friendly waiter, Don.
The service was on point and lovely. Really appreciated the sincere servers and adding a touch to the birthday dessert (a candle) that I had asked for in the online reservation but didn't mention again in person. Totally impressed as a former server! The food wasn't quite as good as I had heard about, maybe the dishes we chose weren't the all time favorites. Will come back and try different dishes.
We visited during Restaurant week. The two first course items and the two desserts we tried were all excellent and we will order again. The main courses were not as much to our liking, but we have no doubt that we would find ones we wanted if not holding ourselves to the Restaurant week menu. The service was great and friendly, except that there was a very long wait for the dessert course -- apparently the kitchen got backed up.
My little girl always picks Stoneburner whenever we have a reason (or none at all). Tonight, our server was lovely and helped make our celebration special.
Great ambiance, good food and service.
