Love the food here ! It never disappoints. Our server never put an appetizer in and then never bothered to apologize. I was a little disappointed as this is not the level of service typically experienced!

Sitting on the sidewalk under the awning is our favorite. We typically enjoy 3 meze plates and a little wine. I think this is the best way to enjoy Stella's. We go for a late lunch or for dinner. We always think we are going to order more plates but are full by the time the two of us go through 3! Saganaki and grilled octopus are our favorites!

AMAZING!!! I have had the food several times and loved it... but to actually experience the hospitality, food, and drinks.... was simply wonderful. We were there celebrating our anniversary and it was definitely a treat. Can't wait to come again!

Especially enjoyed the grilled octopus and the whole cooked Branzino. Both were very well done and I would order again. Dessert was delicious too.

Stella's is my favorite restaurant in Richmond. We visited on Saturday to celebrate my birthday, which we've done at Stella's since we moved here. The food is amazing, and the service is usually also amazing. Unfortunately, that was not the case this weekend. Perhaps it was because we sat outside this time? It was a lovely day, and I wanted to enjoy my meal al fresco, plus it can be quite loud inside. We were seated at the last table, farthest from the front door. We had a waiter we'd never had before and felt forgotten. It took forever to get water after we were seated. Once we ordered, our food came out in a reasonable time, but as I got close to the bottom of my drink, our waiter never asked if I'd like a second (a detail that our favorite waiter, Hamilton, would never miss!). Toward the end of our meal, our waiter came over and asked if we were interested in dessert, and we said we were, but it took him a full 15 min to come back to our table. He seemed quite distracted by his other tables, especially the table next to us with three women visiting Richmond from out of town. He spent an inordinate amount of time discussing the menu options with them when it was clear they weren't ready to order yet and recommending bars for them to go to later that evening. By the time he got back to us, we were DONE, and my husband had his card out so that we didn't have to wait again. It was disappointing, and he missed out on a much larger bill with more drinks and dessert, not to mention the tip that would come with it (last year, we got such incredible service that I tipped 50%). We will be back because I am sure this was an anomaly, but next time we'll ask to sit in Hamilton's section :)

We can't believe we are not giving Stella's five stars. We have been dining at Stella's for years and never had a bad experience or meal until Monday. We went for lunch and the food was amazing as usual. We were extremely disappointed in the service. Our server, Jon, was nice. Perhaps, it was just one of those days...The whole time we were there, we felt like we were forgotten about. It took forever to get water once we were seated not to mention bread. The most frustrating part was watching people who were seated way after us get their meal before we had our appetizers. Once we got our food, it was exceptional! Wonderful dolmades, Village salad & Stella's Garden sandwiches. It was a busy lunch service but we have been there before when it was a lot busier and had spectacular service. We continue to be big fans of Stella's and we will be back.

Superb meal experience! Grilled Octopus, Saganaki Mushrooms, and Keftedes were SO delicious. Baklava with ice cream was a great finisher. Recommend the Bright White cocktail, also. Waitress (Darin?) provided the absolute best service. This place is a gem!

We brought my parents here for lunch while they were visiting us in Richmond. It was excellent! The flavors were amazing. Every staff member was pleasant and accommodating, and even though the restaurant was full for the lunch rush it wasn’t excessively loud, so their sound absorption must be pretty good. It was not at all like a brewery, for example, where it becomes extremely loud when the area is full. My mom asked about an after dinner liquor she had in Crete - they did have it and it’s sort of like a white wine, however she said it really was not at all like the one she had in Crete or Santorini. So that is 1 minor thing that could be improved and that’s about it! I would definitely come back, recommend to others & bring my parents back for dinner. You need a reservation - dinner was fully booked for the several dates we considered; we were able to get a lunch reservation for 2 pm.

It is really hard to get a reservation at Stella's, so we started trying in February and took the first available for our party of 6 which was April 25. The waitstaff was great and made sure we got drinks, appetizers and bread quickly as our meals were being prepared. The food is pretty rich with lots of cheese in everything so very tasty and filling. Desserts were also really good - especially the salted caramel ice cream. We had some vegetarians among us and there were several offerings for them as well. An all around very pleasant evening.

We had an excellent dinner for our Anniversary. Been dining at Stella's for many years and they fixed the one and only past complaint we had about their sting bean side dish being too tough & stringy. Even those were very good last night.

This is a must visit for lunch or dinner. The food is amazing and compared to other comparable restaurants it is 100% better. Staff, food, atmosphere were all great. Great job. BTW, leftovers were even better the next day. Jay and Nancy
