Great atmosphere. The food was simply perfect. Steak was cooked right and sides were even better. Drinks were a little pricy but it’s what you would expect. Music on point and it was at the perfect volume. Amazing night out. More

Steakhouse | Midtown West, Manhattan

Thoroughly enjoyed this unique restaurant whilst visiting from the UK. Food great and the live DJ made the evening really good fun. A word of caution for families- this is a VERY lively bar/restaurant and the later your reservation the less suitable it becomes for young children; our 10 and 15 year old absolutely loved it but definitely not suitable for younger kids, and we left around 9.45 pm. Sushi | Midtown West, Manhattan

To my mind, this is the first time my husband and I have had this complaint: There was TOO MUCH FOOD! The tasting menu is extremely generous, and everything was delicious. The opening tomato and pepper dip was a bit spicy for my taste, but after that I was in heaven. Fresh fish, creative combinations, marvelous variety. I learned that soup is the final course in Japanese/Peruvian meals (before dessert), and we simply could not do more than take one sip of the excellent miso. The waiter had a sense of humor about the sound level (music was a little loud for quiet conversation, and a crying baby spoiled the end of our evening) and about the amount of food. We will be back to sample more wonderful creations at Sen Sakana. More

The food was excellent - We started with the Cheese Monger Platter- a simple, yet beautiful cheese plate with a nice selection from hard to soft cheeses and poached pears! For entrees, we had the “old school linguine with clams” - probably the best I’ve ever tasted, and “The Boar” which was also really good. Desserts were good but I’d rather eat more pasta! The service was also wonderful. I will definitely be back. More

Takumen
Takumen
Creative Japanese | Long Island City, Queens

TakuMen is an Izakaya-style restaurant located in Long Island City.

Conceived by a group of Japanese friends who forged their bonds in New York, their venture began as a Ramen project, but gradually developed into a family-friendly eatery that combines elements of Izakaya, a noodle shop and neighborhood cafe.
While Izakaya culture is the soul of TakuMen, it does wear more than one hat. In the front sits a serious coffee bar with a skilled barista who uses Parlor Coffee beans. It is also a lunch joint where local patrons show up for rice bowls and noodle fare. The grocery shelf filled with condiments and ingredients used in the kitchen symbolizes TakuMen's commitment to transparency.

Discover New York

When a city never sleeps, waking hours are spent in cafes, diners, bars and restaurants of every shape and size that give New York its unique flavor. Once famous for pizza by-the-slice (local loyalties run deep), black-and-white cookies, and old world, mahogany-paneled steakhouses—the dining rooms of titans of business and other famous folks—Manhattan is now estimated to have 24,000 restaurants, from midtown’s korean barbecue to fast casual vegan burgers. Pillowy pork buns? You got it. French rotisserie? That too. And, of course, there will always be the perfect bagel, preferably toasted dark with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, onions, and capers.
