                                                            I would give this place 10 stars if I could! The space is great - very "industrial chic", with a distinctly Texan flavor - it feels so authentic. The food is fabulous - my guest and I shared a wonderful steak salad, and then we each had seafood for our main course. But the real stars of Southerleigh are the staff - the service and management are extraordinary. I have a rare (and very unpleasant) allergy, and our server went above and beyond to ensure that I felt safe and comfortable with the dish that I ordered. I really appreciated their thoughtful attention, and warm but professional approach. I will definitely be back!

                                                            We chose this place for an anniversary dinner. The look and ambiance of Southerleigh was great. A little louder than I though it'd be, but not bad. My husband said the meatloaf was the best he'd ever had. I got the redfish in a crab butter sauce, which was spectacular as well. The mac and cheese and cornbread were definitely a step up from what you'd expect. My husband loved the stout. I got the blanc house punch. It was a bit more sour than I thought it'd be, but not bad. Our waiter, Meredith, surprised us with a free dessert since it was our anniversary. She was extremely friendly and food and drinks were delivered quickly. Would definitely go back!

                                                            Southerleigh’s has been our go to spot for out of town guests. Unfortunately, the last several visits haven’t lived up to past experiences. Service was slow, about a 15 minute wait for server to come to our table and we had to ask for items multiple times. Southerleigh’s is know for the Snapper Throats and our last two visits they were sold out even though I put in the reservation notes to hold two orders. I would have appreciated a call to let me know prior to our reservation so we could make other arrangements.

                                                            We work very hard all week, as well as take care of our baby boy; no daycare and no nanny. My wife is a professional with her own practice and I’m an entrepreneur who juggles multiple businesses. We split our workdays taking care of our son. As the SARS-CoV-2 situation has begun to be manageable, we’ve started to once again frequent eating establishments with outdoor seating. We are native San Antonians, and have enjoyed The Pearl from its inception. We have been to Southerleigh many times. Our toddler enjoys those moments. We are a cool family, great tippers, cordial and very inclusive. There is no excuse for a simple order taking almost 45 minutes to come out. There is no excuse for having a server with the personality of a stop sign and a look on their face that says they don’t give two eff’s about their job or their customers. I had to complain to management and they were responsive and gave us a $30 gift certificate, and offered free dessert. The gesture is acknowledged, but we are very capable financially. We don’t need anything comp’ed nor do we ask for handouts. What we and this world needs at this moment is for everyone to develop some semblance of an empathetic quotient. One apology from the server and one apology from the guy who finally brought our china out and slammed the stack in front of me then bolted, was all that was needed. “Hipster service” should not be a thing. Regardless, hipster service or rbf or not, if you work in hospitality you better be hospitable and accountable, and your biases need to be completely overcome when you are working. We have no biases, except for the callous, aloof, selfish, myopic, self-loathing, exclusive assumers who seem to have not learned their lesson from the past few years starting with the election of a fascist anti-human, anti-democracy Putin enabled, bigoted POTUS, to a pandemic which has killed over 1,000,000 Americans and many more worldwide. Do you get it yet? Check yourselves! Come correct! Wake up!

Amazing chicken and waffles and jalapeño grits. Even my daughters fish sticks were fresh and handmade. Staff was amazing and even let us take a few photos!

                                                            We went for Easter brunch and everything was great from the service and wait staff to the mimosas and food. The only complaint I have is that I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was just a little plain and the piece of chicken I got was pretty small and a bit greasy. My son’s chicken tenders were a lot better tasting than my chicken.

The red fish was not cleaned up enough. It still had a ton of the dark meat under from u see the skin. You would think they would clean it up down to a white filet. Over all not a great experience.

                                                            If you are there on a night they have snapper throats, you must try them! There's some mighty tender and tasty meat in that part of the fish that most people throw away. We started with an order of snapper throats, followed that with a dozen Novia Scotia oysters, and had as an entree the seafood salad. All delicious! Seafood isn't all that Southerleigh serves. They also offer plenty of southern-type comfort foods. They are also a brewery, so there's a good selection of unique beers. In addition, they serve wine and wine-based cocktails. Our server, Eduardo, was the perfect amount of attentive and ready to answer any of our questions. Overall, it was a great way to spend an anniversary!

                                                            The redfish was excellent as were the drinks but roasted porchetta Jambalaya with pickled okra I should have sent back. Even with a steak knife it was nearly impossible to cut or eat. The porchetta offering was badly executed. I won't disregard the place because this one dish was bad. The bar staff were excellent. Th two ladies were top notch.
