    We invited some friends out for brunch, and this was their first experience. They throughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. Our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The fried chicken is always amazing and crab fried rice was a little too spicy but good. My husband enjoyed the waffle. I enjoyed my peach Bellini and the banana pudding desert was yummy. The South City Kitchen is one of our favs. We had a very nice time dining at this Midtown location.

    The food was phenomenal, so much so that we have been talking about it to everyone all week. Service was great and made sure we got out the door in time for our show. We can’t wait to come back.

    The food was ok but our server was in a rush, grabbed things off our table aggressively, spilled water onto the table without attempting to clean it up or a mention, a very deep sigh of what seemed like unprovoked aggravation and released said sigh directly into my face.

    Sometimes your waitress or waiter can make your experience memorable enough that you want to come back. Though our waitress was pleasant, she seemed distant and guarded. When she came to check on us, her facial expressions made it seem more like a duty or a formality and not genuine. Overall, the experience was a just ok. The food was good (waffles, bacon), but the cheese grits were bland. The coffee tasted like Waffle House coffee, which was surprising, given the quality of the establishment. I will come back because I have been here before and have had a much better experience.

    Our experience at South City Kitchen for our Thanksgiving meal was wonderful! We were seated at the time of our reservation, the service was excellent and the pork chop and collards I ordered was delicious! We missed not having mac 'n cheese in the 'south', but couldn't have made a better choice for our holiday meal.

    Hadn't been it awhile. Better than ever. The perfect neighborhood restaurant. Beef Cheeks and Goat. A little different than usual, both recommended by server but honestly we were eyeing them. And the Livers which I always order, paired beautifully with the Spicy Cauliflower. Just a fantastic meal.

    Great service and good food but pass on the BBQ shrimp appetizer. It’s a few small sized shrimp in a tasty sauce but not worth $16. The food is pricey for the quantity. The fried chicken size has been cut from the larger size a few years ago. I understand the inflation thing but expect to depart hungry and out $90 for two people to eat dinner.

    The food was absolutely delicious. The grilled pork loin chop and fried chicken were fabulous. Also tried the creamy crab soup which was wonderful. Nice vibe, great service and enjoying our dinner upstairs made everything even better.

    What an incredible night, so much greater than I anticipated. The food was excellent, the service that we received was the best I have ever received. I travel all over the country to our nations largest cities and eat at some of the finest restaurants. After tonight I place South City Kitchen at to top of that list. Thank you Mrs. Brie (sp) for an incredible experience, your service to myself and my daughter made our night. I felt like we were having a meal with a dear friend and her family. Thank you

    We always enjoy South City Kitchen, but our last visit was borderline miserable due to the noise level. My husband’s Apple Watch kept warning him about being in a loud environment.

    This is a gem of a restaurant! Dining as it should be and how it used to be universally. Our waiter, Delano, was knowledgable, friendly, and flawless with service. The fried green tomato selection is like no other and delicious. The she crab soup was creamy, generous with fresh crab, and the right amount of sherry. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits for tender shrimp, full flavor sauce and grits finished to a creamy consistency. The ambiance, with tablecloths, evening lighting level, and a hubbub of happy diners was very pleasant.
