Fantastic service and the food was out-of-this-world! You have to try the Peking Duck! Best ever, and I'm from NYC. Crispy egg rolls and vermicelli also incredible. Every time I visit SLC, this will be my #1 stop!

All three of us were pleased with the seasoning of our dishes: garlic chicken, garlic pork, and vegetables and beef stirfry. The selection of wines by the glass was limited, but well chosen and reasonably priced except for the Lohr cabernet sauvignon ($10). While the server seemed inexperienced, she was charming. The ambiance is somewhat sterile.

Delicious Vietnamese food!!! You have anywhere from crisp delicate to rich and bold flavors, all in one sitting if you'd like. First time in? I'd recommend trying one of the Bun (Vermicelli noodle bowls) with either Short Rib, Pork, or my favorite Shrimp. I never leave here disappointed!

Always amazing. I love this place. The owner, Michael always puts out a great product. He goes out of his way to meet and welcome his customers. The food is always wonderful. We go there often as a couple, as well as with friends and customers. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Stylish, colorful Vietnamese restaurant with gracious hosts. Close to shopping, luxe movie theater, free parking on the street or in garage underneath. SOMI is named for Sophia and Michael, the wonderful owners. Versatile menu, I have had a small plate there and big dinners. My hard to impress pescatarian friend loved her salmon dinner very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our SOMI sliders, the pork pot stickers, and the grilled chicken vermicelli with its included Spring roll. The drinks were excellent and the waiter was just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be returning!

Always great. Love the owner. Love the food. Service can be slow but still one of my favorite restaurants in SLC. The food is fantastic and I'm happy about how busy they've been the last few times we've come in. Highly recommended.

We have been looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant in SLC since we relocated here a couple of years ago. Somi is the place. Fantastic food and service at great prices. The meat, the seasonings and all of it were amazing. Give Somi a try!

They were extremely behind and under staffed. My reservation was delayed by over 50 minutes. I was given a free creme brulee as compensation. Once we were sat in our seats, it took over 20 minutes for our waiter to even come offer us water. The staff is operating like Trumps first two weeks in office - complete disaster. Food was good, so wasn't a total sham, but I'm not going back.

Perhaps some of this should be taken with a grain of salt, as it was Valentine's Day, and I think it's a relatively new restaurant. They weren't prepared for the load at all. The food in and of itself was pretty good. It wasn't amazing by any standard, but it was tasty and for what we paid, great. I had actually expected to drop over fifty dollars on the meal, after first glancing at the menu, but then my girlfriend pointed out that they had full meals for ten dollars. We're both money conscious, so we went for one of the noodle dishes, which was Vietnamese, I think? Most of their main courses were more Chinese than Vietnamese, which was disappointing. The appetizer was also delicious, their Somi Slider. I'd definitely recommend that. I could eat those all day. The noodle dishes we got were also very tasty, but the steak was a little tough. Certainly edible and great for ten dollars. The service was questionable. Our waitress was great, no complaints there. But I had a reservation, which they didn't honor. They were way overbooked, which was frustrating. Then they sat us at what felt more like a bench than a table. It wasn't private at all. I probably won't ever go back, but for a relatively cheap meal, it was good.

Went here for the first time on a first date. My food was good, my date's was very good. Service was great--friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. Nice atmosphere--a bit noisy, but not too much to have a normal conversation. Would definitely recommend for a date or business lunch/dinner.

Somi is a hidden gem. The construction across the way is winding down; time to give it a try. You certainly won't be disappointed. The menu is large and Chef Mike and his friendly staff make this a wonderful place.

Modern Vietnamese restaurant (without any of the 'authentic' decoration, music, etc.) in Sugarhouse. Makes for a good 'quick business lunch' spot or a place to grab a bite before catching a movie next door. Service was great, the food just okay -- not bad, but I've had better Pho in Salt Lake City.

Checked this place out one evening after a work trip. I grew up eating lots of authentic Vietnamese food, so my bar is set pretty high. Somi managed to hit most of them. The wings, pork belly buns, and Pho were all quite good. Where they fell short was the The Bun Bo Hue. It was too salty and definitely not spicy at all as you would normally expect from Bun Bo Hue. But still giving this place high marks for pulling off some pretty legitimate Vietnamese cuisine in a modern, clean, and chic atmosphere. Just don't go go for the Bun Bo Hue ;)

Somi has become our "go-to"place for meeting friends or pre-movie dinners. The atmosphere is perfect: modern, clean, chill music playing in the background, and outstanding service. The food is great, and there are several items that are outstanding (like the vegetarian Moo Shu and the garlic eggplant). Others are pretty standard, like the orange chicken. Give this place a try ... you won't be disappointed.

Had a wonderful experience at the Somi Restuant this past week. The service and food was outstanding. It has a cool modern ambiance and the owner was a gem....he stopped by and asked how our meal was. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I was very satisfied with the food and with how friendly the manager was and how he took the time to come to the table and thank us for coming. It was very expensive but for a 5 star restaurant I'm sure that's normal. My only complaint really is they didn't have a nutrition menu, I am on weight watchers and had a tough time tracking. They said they have only been in business for 5 months so it's forgivable but they should definitely make a nutrition menu and pre portion everything.

We went to Somi for Mothers Day, the food was just ok. It started off with them telling us they only had two high chairs and they were in use. The families with the two high chairs had older children and they only sat in them for ten minutes. The mothers took the kids outside the dads sat there for 30 minutes we ask if we could use one, they said no. Two hours, and not one kid in the chairs... The staff did nothing to help. Ruin the food for me, my kids said it was good and they would go back. But I probably won't.
