Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in a 150 year old Seagram’s building, minutes west of the Waterloo Uptown Core. The interior soars two stories high to a timber frame ceiling, exposed brick and generous wood finishes, set the tone for an elegant yet casual experience.

    The food and service was exceptional. The noise level was a bit excessive but your staff was very accommodating and moved us to the wine cellar. We will continue to be patrons of Sole with pleasure.

    Excellent waitress who was clear and well versed in the choices. Unobtrusive as she quietly and professionally served our table. All patrons enjoyed the different entrees which were elegantly plated and delicious.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Sole. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and they were able to safely accomodate a nut allergy.

    I came in with my client for lunchtime and ordered the beef medallions. I was taken back by the menial amount as well as the lack of seasoning. The portion sizes of the medallions were reminiscent of 3 small tongues, to get a visual perspective and incredibly thin. Considering the cost, these medallions on the plate seemed disproportionately small, raising concerns about the overall value of $29 for your money. Disappointed with my food but happy with our server who was super attentive and accommodating to my clients needs.

    From the initial warms and friendly greeting by the host and further service by the server at the table, the whole experience was wonderful. The food was also very good from scallops to pizza! Many thanks to our exceptional server, Bonnie!

    Wait staff attentive and very pleasant. Food flavourful. Ambience perfect, loved the fact the music wasn't loud and surroundings were quiet. Birthday treat was very much appreciated by my husband.

    We very much enjoyed our meal. Of the four (4) of us, two of us ordered pizza, the third braised short ribs and the fourth the lobster and shrimp linguine. All the dishes were excellent. Service was good / attentive. Very nice location. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully restored. I would recommend Sole if you are looking for a good meal with family and friends. We will be back!

    Can't say I was overly impressed, but maybe I'm not the target audience for this kind of restaurant. In general I don't really go for "fine dining" but I had a coupon and needed to us it. It was a little too rich in flavour, a bit heavy for my taste. The staff was friendly and it was pleasant enough.

    Great Sunday lunch for a friend's birthday. Wonderful brunch for the two guys. Lady always enjoys the lobster and shrimp roll. Good wine selection, including a decent chardonnay for the non-red person. Service was terrific even if she was running!

    Food was disappointing. Pasta was dry...tasted like it was made the day before. Schnitzel was fine...not much taste. Cesar Salad hardly had any dressing. Calamari was very good. Server was excellent

    Liked the restaurant overall but the tiny table for two right at opening to bar was not an ideal location for someone who had an early reservation. Servers were very helpful and pleasant. Quantity of food was good.

    We specifically went for the Prime Rib Sunday dinner. It was sold out. (Our reservation was for 6:15). Our guests from Arizona, whom we were taking out for their 40th anniversary, were looking forward to it. Needless to say they were disappointed. The Onion and Apple Soup and the Jaggerschnitzel were delicious. Mussels, crab cakes were good but not over the top. Tenderloin was good but "not the prime rib" according our guest. Lemon curd dessert was great as usual. Service was outstanding and not rushed which we all appreciated. I really wanted to give a 5-star review and am sad I can't.
