The ships tavern is one of my favorite bars in the US. However the piano was so loud we couldn’t talk which I find the objective of dinner.
A wonderful place
Had a great meal with family
We went to school in Denver and liked to come to the brown place for fin amd events
Enjoyed everything about our evening!
Great Prime Rib. Service was excellent. We had a nice quiet side booth.
Fun place to eat. Service was excellent unfortunately the prime rib wasn’t prepared rare as we asked. Overall good place.
We we're staying at the hotel and had a such a wonderful time earlier in the day, that we went back twice more. Dustin was our server and was wonderful! The bartender was also amazing!
Since my last visit, Ships tavern has redecorated and changed to pub like menu with some dinner plates… salmon, Marsala chicken, tenderloin… and a massive plate of prime rib. Fine dining is at palace arms. Fransisco, our server, a patient mature man, was outstanding and surprised with a tasty dessert. My dinner date TB, she and I really had a fun evening, besides my wonderful company, the staff made it even better
The philly cheese steak I ordered was good. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Nice change of pace restaurant .
Cool atmosphere and nice staff. Can get pricy with alcohol, but a good date place.
Consistently great food and service in a comfortable atmosphere. Been gin ghere for 40 years, and the Prime Rib sandwich is still outstanding! Great server last night, who knew her stuff!
We had the best prime rib ever. They only have it after 5pm everyday so must come for dinner. Our server Hunter was very nice and told us a lot of history of the hotel when we asked. You can tell she loves the place with how much she knows. It was abit noise but we still where able to talk. We will be back!
Our waitress, Hunter, was terrible. She did not bring drink menu, we had to ask. Water wasn’t refilled unless asked. Never asked if I wanted another glass of wine, I had to ask. Did not bring bread, we received when I asked a bus boy what the bread plates we had were for. Had to ask for salt and pepper. Plopped down bill to pay, when I had another glass of wine to order. Not the Ship Tavern that I recall.
Great service, good food, unique atmosphere. Will go back.
Very noisy, made it hard to hear conversation at our own table.
Understaffed and unprepared. Our server did the best he could do but was overwhelmed.
Dustin our server was great. The food was great. The ambiance was very nice. All 4 of us in our group really enjoyed dinner - fish mad chips, Cobb salad, … All good, except for the petit filet was over done and was slightly disappointing.
We had the time.
Great food and drink.
We can not say enough Great thinks about ships tavern.
Great prime rib and superior service on a busy Sunday night. Really impressed by pretzel/mustard appetizer and the potato that came with prime rib. The rib was simply delicious, super meal
Loved the atmosphere. The local beer selection was on point
Ex c Ellenton
Caesar salad was special
Prime Rib tasty
Our server, Dean, was exceptional and his guidance on drink and dessert choices was perfect.
The prime rib dinner more than lived up to its reputation.
The drinks where fantastic the food was so freaking good. The horseradish is in my top five favorite from a restaurant!
First time trying Ships Tavern and won’t be the last!
As good as ever: from shop to ship to server (Frank, who rocks!), an exceptional experience.
Visiting Denver after we lived here 20 years ago. Previously had many great meals here. Not this time. Food and service was like a chain restaurant. Limited menu; no decaf coffee after dinner. Very disappointed. Would not recommend for the price
Dustin was out waiter and he went over the top to get us prime rib dinner (there were 6 of us) We have dined at Shipstavern many times in the past and always had the prime rib. We did not see it on the menu when we arrived for our 630pm reservation but he was quick to check with the kitchen and let us know that it was available.
thanks very much for making our evening....
The service and the food were excellent. i would go there again and try some of the other items on the menu.
For a venerable Denver institution that I have gone to over the last 4 decades this was a disappointment. It is still wonderful to bring guests to see the history of the Brown and Denver. How can you run out of iced tea at lunch? If that were the only lapse it could be overlooked. Simply emblematic of a problem with the kitchen and service.
Disappointed; Autograph hotels generally have good food but this was not the case here.
Great historical building and a fun vibe. Food is tasty.
The ship Tavern was terrible. We stayed at the Brown Palace and expected quality dining for the prices advertised on their menu. But the food was flavorless and the service was sub par. I sent my cheesesteak back, which I never do. It had no flavor and the meat was dry. It was a very disappointing meal. The music was uncomfortably loud as well.
Great waiter! Great food! Highly recommend a nice dinner out in the tavern style atmosphere.
Party of 8 and 830 PM and everything went as planned. Good food and service.
Great food and service in an historical setting: a great Denver experience
A very enjoyable lunch. The Cobb salad and Ruben sandwich we’re both excellent. One more person working with the waitstaff would have been a very good idea. They were very good, but were stretched thin and had to hurry to try to keep up.
A little pricey for a burger, but it was massive and delicious! Our server, Dean, was fantastic.
Cobb salad was oversold but under delivered
Food was Bad
Service was really Bad
Menu was limited
It’s sad to see the quality of the Ship Tavern go down and the hotel was not clean with dusty shelves and counters. The management team is not doing their job.
We came to the amazing Brown Palace Hotel at the recommendation of friends here in Phoenix. When I made the reservation at the Ship Tavern, there was a question asking if it was a special occasion, and I said yes, it was an anniversary (our 40th). We had a very nice dinner, very charming waiter, but nothing was ever mentioned about our special occasion. Still a very enjoyable evening, but why ask if it doesn't matter?
