The receptionist wouldn’t seat us by a window because someone else requested the seats -they were empty the whole hour we were there. Also, the waitress said (politely told us)the bar was busy so we wouldn’t get our drinks for a bit. Drinks (wine) didn’t come until dinner was served. Good food and good service! More

Oscar did an outstanding job of making us feel taken care of. He gave us spice on the side because we differed in levels on a dish we shared. He handled all details from making sure water glasses were discreetly filled to being punctual with the check. We left smiling and planning to return for a happy hour one day after work. More

Wa'z serves Kyoto style Kaiseki cuisine with a creative twist using Northwest fresh ingredients. It is always a treat to dine at the counter, with Hiro-San who is the head chef and owner of the restaurant. The menu changes monthly, with a theme which is seasonal and festive at the same time. Great thought is given to assemble each dish, from the presentation, to the quality of the food and taste (with choice selections of the freshest ingredients), the colors of the different compositions, and the garnish, all in perfect harmony, sometimes with a kick (a delicate touch of yuzu flavored spice). For me, it is always a feast not just for the tummy, but the eyes and the mind, sometimes whimsical, and sometimes stimulating imagination and a sense of nostalgia (of travels to Japan), not just my taste buds. Hiro-San never disappoints. The cuisine gets better each month. I look forward to going back each month because I am so curious what Hiro-San would create....it's addictive! More

Discover Seattle

The iconic city tucked inside the Pacific northwest coast does see a lot of rain, but when the sun shines on Seattle, it dazzles. Don’t miss the chance to dine at one of the many waterfront restaurants serving oysters and Pacific-caught seafood. Take a stroll downtown and wander in and out of bookshops and bakeries. Arguably the birthplace of American coffee culture, there’s hardly a better place to enjoy leisurely lattes accompanied by hours of computing and the occasional pen and paper sketch.
