Say Cheese! Restaurant & Cheese
We were there for my wife's birthday. The quality and presentation of the food and wine was terrific. The only complaint was that I asked to substitute one vegetable for another which they don't charge for. Unfortunately, the kitchen failed to do that and I ended up with a vegetable that I really don't like so it went to waste. I pointed it out to our server. He apologized, offered to correct it, but I declined.
Say Cheese has a wonderful menu, something for everyone but not 1000 choices. The wine/drink selection is also very nice.
The food tasted like someone dropped a bucket of salt all over it. Inedible and not consumed.
Excellent food and service! The cheese and meat slate appetizer was fun and the lobster and crab mac & cheese was outstanding! We will be back to give some other entries a try:)
We will definitely be back - the food was incredible and it was so challenging deciding what to order. The staff was all really nice as well. I loved the marketplace area in the front of the restaurant and the great variety of drink options. I highly recommend getting the meat and cheese board and trying one of their mac and cheese specials!
Never a disappointment. One of my favorite restaurants in the Reading area. Easy to make a reservation on Open Table
Location is great, food is always on point, value is good and service is consistent.
Always have a great meal here. But, wish the app choices would change/improve. Meal was otherwise great. Love seating in the front windows.
Always good experience there! Could use a few upgrades: to the specials menu, innovative choices, and maybe occasional drink specials.
Dining at Say Cheese is always a great experience! Highly recommended! Go there!
The food was very cheesy which was great! However within all the cheese it had an outstanding bland taste. The appetizers were actually better than the dinner dishes I had. Also, the lobster and crab Mac and cheese had actual shell in the food. I found two pieces of shell in my mouth. Thankfully I didn’t swallow that. I think I would only go back for their appetizers.
Food did not live up to the fancy plating. Branding was beautifully designed on the outside but not consistent throughout. Price tag on the cheese I bought looked like it was from a corner deli. I expected a better overall package for how nice the website and location was but I guess you can fool tourists for awhile...
Was in town for a show. Food was excellent. Cheese store was super cute. Everyone was very nice.
We always come to Say Cheese for girls night out. We were very disappointed in the food selection this trip. Normally there are some seasonal specials in addition to the menu. The server told us there were none because the menu was new and there were a lot of new choices. Most of what was on the menu we have seen before so definitely not much new. Disappointing visit, but drinks were great and service was outstanding. Could also use a better selection of desserts.
Three of us dining, each had a great time. The food was tasty and the price was right.
Always a go to and always great food ! I tend to like the lunch menu better than the dinner menu, but still all great food . And I just about always leave with some cheese from the counter !
Say cheese is a hidden gem in an reviving section of Reading, PA. The menu is always changing and using local produce and meats. The whole atmosphere rocks!!
We have dined here maybe 7 times, always enjoying our experience up until this last visit. I don’t know if they have new cooks or not, but the food was sub par this time. It pains me to leave this review because I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything that has touched my palate from here n the past. I will start by saying that the smoked salmon deviled eggs were delicious. Our friends thought they were way too salty. I ordered the lamb burger. As it was definitely cooked to my liking, it was overwhelmed by grease and way too much feta cheese. A friend ordered the cheese curds appetizer. Again, way too greasy and honestly tasted liked fried mozzarella. One of the biggest let downs, was that they are no longer BYOB!
This won’t be my last visit here, but I will strongly suggest other places for dinner before I mention Say Cheese as an option again.
Food was great. Service was, too. We were gabbing and visiting a long time. And never felt rushed. But still tended to. A lovely experience!
Food was delicious, waitress was nice however Once we paid the check waitress no longer asked if we needed water or anything as we still sat there enjoying each other’s coming on our night out. We probably would have gotten / paid for more drinks as well.
No dressing on my salad, had to ask for it.
Unique menu. Server was more than happy to accommodate special requests and do separate checks for our large group. Love using Open Table for reservations, super easy. Will definitey return!
Their menu is unique and changes with the season. I've enjoyed each and every meal I've ever ordered there.
Great menu, great food, and great service! We'd like to see Kombucha added to the non-alcoholic drink selection, though.
I've been here 3 times and each time Say Cheese does not disappoint. This time we made sure to leave room for dessert and WOW. My husband is not a cheesecake person and does not give out compliments readily, but even he said the red velvet cheesecake (which is a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and a cheesecake center) was "fantastic." I opted for the 6 cheese mac and cheese (which is always perfection) and a hearty french onion soup, while he chose the soup of the day (a rich and flavorful cheddar and broccoli) and the special which was a delicious chicken breast with what seemed like a dijon mustard cheese sauce and homemade ricotta ravioli with broccoli. The ravoli was delicate, not too rich, and filled with the perfect amount of ricotta filling. The chicken was tender and flavorful (come on, I HAD to steal a bite of both). While your arteries would not appreciate regular visits to Say Cheese, your mouth will, and I'm hoping to make dining here a monthly tradition.
My husband and I love eating at Say Cheese! Their cheese plates are amazing and the honey and jam pairings are perfect! My husband always gets the Say Cheeseburger. Their sweet potato fries are good, but definitely try their regular fries, too! Not Your Mama’s Deviled Eggs are different each week but the ones I have had are very good (especially the ones with crab or caviar). Get one of their specialty alcoholic drinks to go with your meal! And if you like macaroni and cheese, my husband says to get the salmon on top! My favorite meal ever there is the scallop dinner (though they don’t have this all the time). Check out their seasonal seafood options - they’re always good!
Good food but a little on the cold side when it hit our table.
Sooooooo gooooooood! We had such a great time and I can’t wait to go back!
Great time at Say Cheese. This restaurant is a safe bet on Fridays during lent for meals without meat.
Service was a little slow this time as the restaurant was busy, but nothing that made us want to leave or decide that we wouldn't be back. Check their website for hours as the restaurant is moving towards summer hours soon. Also, check out their Sunday Brunch, it is fantastic!
Delicious meal and even better dessert!!!
Love the food and the selection of cheese
There were seven in our party. Everyone enjoyed there but for some reason one person’s main meal came out lukewarm while the rest were piping hot. I had the eggplant napoleon and the harvest ricotta salad. Both were wonderfully prepared. I especially enjoyed the lemon ricotta on the salad. Four had the pierogi meal and all of them liked that as well. The other two were the meatloaf and the prime rib which were also liked.
Frickle app great as always, entrees creative, delicious and cooked perfectly, service smooth and knowledgeable, quality wine to boot. One of the best of its kind, not just in West Reading but anywhere.
The service was good. The food tasted good but is loaded with fat, not very healthy.
If you want something a little different, try Say Cheese!! Excellent!
One of my favorite restaurants. Everything has always been excellent.
Didn’t care for sitting in the front window. I had also asked for a bottle of wine for the table when I made the reservation and it was never received. The food and service for the meal were good.
3 members of our party ordered the Butternut Squash soup that was a special for that evening. We were disappointed in the consistency of the soup, it was very thin. Typically, this recipe is moderately thick and this serving was quite thin. Otherwise our meal was very good.
I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the soup! If there is something you ordered that is not to your liking we are always happy to get you something in place of it. I saw that you gave us a 2 star review. Was that due to just the soup or was there something else we could improve on? We appreciate feedback as we always try and provide an enjoyable dining experience to our guests.
Really like this place. Waitress was great!
Eight of us went for brunch and everyone raves about what they picked. The variety of offerings was impressive. Our server handled the big group with ease. We will definitely go back soon!
Thank you for the review! We hope to see you again soon!
Our appetizer was delicious! We chose the fried pickles. For my entree, I had the chicken salad with hot bacon dressing. It was huge and very tasty. My friend had the Macaroni and cheese. She said it was good but didn't have a lot of flavor. We shared the ice cream sandwich for dessert which was just ok. We had a very nice Mom's night out!
