Ronin is a small jewel of a restaurant, it's location is not easy to find, and it is probably only known to locals, locals meaning people that live near by, but like most jewels you are rewarded once it is in your hands The place is tiny, it holds only about 18 people, so reservation is a recommended, however to honor their guests if they have space available when you walk in they tell you upfront you have X time to eat dinner because we have a reservation coming up. Most people I have seen in this situation including myself accept the offer. Some people might find that rude, I find it professional ! Ronin's team are super friendly all around, and the chefs take their time to do their part well and with love for what they do right in front of your eyes, the way they slice the fish makes your taste buds water. This has become a family favorite, we love sushi and the taste is on par with some of the top sushi restaurants in town that go for twice the price at least. We eat sushi on average two to three times per month at least, so we know our sushi. So if you are in for a treat of good tasting sushi in a quiet place that will not overcharge you for the ambience with cooks that love what they do, this is your place. If you want to impress your date with fancy decor and puff out your chest when they bring you the bill to impress her, look elsewhere this ain't it. Like most things it depends on what you are looking for, as for me, I am a simple guy with simple tastes and Ronin not only meets my cravings it far exceeds them when it comes to sushi Keep it up Ronin team !

I absolutely love the food here! This is one of my favorite restaurants, and the service is always good. The hand rolls are a must-try! There’s a lot of hype around the Lotus cheesecake, but personally, I think it’s just okay. One thing to keep in mind is that the place is on the smaller side, so it can feel a bit crowded. Overall, I 100% recommend this place!

Excellent experience at Señor Tanaka! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was excellent. We ordered a variety of sushi and different dishes, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also loved the great selection of menu items and drinks. The beer was the perfect complement to the meal. Overall, an amazing dining experience with outstanding food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended

Kampai is one of my favorite traditional spots while in Monterey. Good service, menu favorites have stayed for long and the new ones are always worth to try. Highly recommended.
