Steakhouse

Galway’s West End

About the restaurant

For over forty years, McSwiggan’s has been at the heart of Galway life. Nestled in historic Woodquay – where land once met sea and market boats delivered produce to its door – this building has evolved from Cosgrove’s Pub in the 1920s to Patrick O’Flynn’s grocery store, and today stands as Galway’s award-winning gastropub.

Here, exceptional food and crafted drinks meet genuine Irish hospitality. Whether you’re settling in for oysters and a pint by the fire, sharing a steak dinner with friends, or celebrating life’s milestones in our private rooms, McSwiggan’s offers a warm welcome and an atmosphere rich with character and community.

Always enjoy myself here. Probably my favourite spot in Galway. the food is delicious, and reasonable prices for the quality and its location ( newly added to the Michelin guide). portions are small, not quite Tapa's, but smaller than a plated dinner you would get in a larger restaurant. but it quality over quantity. Restaurant itself is small and intimate, and in Galways west end. The Venison is amazing, complimented with a delicious side of spuds.
