Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two who wanted a better life for herself and her two sons. She purchased "Chris" steakhouse in New Orleans which had been operated for the 38 years prior. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris when a fire forced her to move from the original location. Today, there are 142 Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants across the globe. We look forward to our opening in Gaithersburg, MD.

We went to Ruth’s Chris Steak House to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived to find confetti and a Happy Anniversary card at the table. Our waiter was great and very attentive. Despite being full for dessert, he brought us a cheesecake with a candle in it and Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. We couldn’t have had a better experience!

We enjoyed an excellent anniversary dinner, and the care and attention from the staff were exemplary. Impossible to complain about the food—immaculate steaks, sides, and the seared ahi tuna was a wonderful start. The individual cheesecakes, decorated with Happy Anniversary! in lovely chocolate, was a very sweet touch. Da, our terrific server, encouraged us to return before the next milestone with good humor, and we will. Thanks to him, the chefs, and all the staff who made our evening so memorable! See you again soon.

Great neighborhood restaurant for a celebration and/or good dinner/food w/friends. Since it is not 'inexpensive', its' not a place where you can go often, unless your wallet allows you this upper priced meal. The food is very good!

The steak (Tomahawk Ribeyes) was very unseasoned and poorly cooked. The sides were bland as well. This was our first visit to Ruth's at this location and have been a number of times to other locations. This was the first time we have ever had a bad meal a Ruth's. Will likely not be returning to this location and drive further if we choose to dine at Ruth's again.

We have dined here several times and this was by far the worst experience. We spent 320.00 tip included and the meal received did not come close to measuring up to that expense. The steak was purple and not medium rare. They cooked what we sent back which was then overdone. The strip was also very fatty which would upset Ruth herself.

Our visit was very enjoyable. Welcomed promptly. Seated quickly. Our server Frank arrived and greeted us with little delay. Not feeling anything but, relaxed and happy too be at Ruth Chris. Frank made our visit a worthwhile time. Food was as advertised. Service was extremely good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ruth's Chris Steak House - Gaithersburg, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. We ordered Porterhouse for Two, medium rare. The steak was cooked to perfection, with the best crust outside and juicy meat on the inside. The flavors were robust and satisfying. I also enjoyed the cremini mushrooms, flavorful with creamy texture. However, I would note that they were slightly saltier for my taste. Despite this minor observation, the overall experience was still highly satisfying.

The food is pricey but remember this the side dishes are portion for two people. The dessert is beautiful and delicious. And the steak absolutely amazing. The staff is so nice and helpful with anything you need. I will definitely return.

First bad experience at RC. They appear to have simply overbooked Mother’s Day (a lot). Food took over an hour from ordering, was close to tepid temperature-wise, the hot plates had cooled and the butter was almost congealed. Very disappointing, though I would be quick to point out that RC is normally excellent every time.

RCSH is a great experience but not on MothersDay. We waited 30 mins for our reserved table, but once we sat down, we enjoyed the ambiance. Our server (Eric) was great but once it was clear my wife wanted the price fix meal and my two kids ordered from the kids menu, it felt like we were no longer a priority for service. Plates pulled up, crumbs weren't removed from the table and our dessert and Bill came out at the same time. I may return but definitely not on a heavy traffic day (holiday).

We always plan special events (in this case Mother's Day) at Ruth Chris. The food is always great (in this case Caesar salad, cream spinach, steak, lobster, and cheesecake were all wonderful. It took a while for the main course to get to us, but I expect it was due to them being busy for the holiday.

We’ve consistently had issues with the ribeye, both in the quality of the meat and in the preparation. This time it was overdone. The filet was excellent but a little black and blue. We asked for both to be medium rare. Didn’t love the sides, and the drinks weren’t great. Could have been better. Service was excellent. Overall a good experience but the food could be better, especially for the price.

Always a go to, this time was different. Service was excellent but food not so much. My steak had to be sent back and my wife then noticed hers was very overly cooked but just kind of went with it. We split a salad, 2 steaks, 2 sides, no alcohol, and coffee and left for around $300. Prices have gone way up and quality seems to have dropped.

Kelsey is the best server there. Amazing service, attention and engagement with our two children. We go to this location about 6+ times a year - consistent food quality. My only issue is the staff at the front desk…horrible. Management doesn’t seem to engage loyal customers any longer either…

We had an outstanding meal at the Gaithersburg Ruth’s Chris last night. We brought our 2 toddlers and the restaurant could not have been more welcoming. The food and ambience were amazing, but the real standout was our server, William. He went above and beyond taking care of us. Every little detail was taken care of and thought about. We felt completely at ease and the kids behaved—almost like we all just settled into a relaxed place because of the environment William and his colleagues established. Can’t recommend enough!

We, party of 3, went for a dinner to Ruth's Chris Steak House on Saturday evening to celebrate birthday of one of us. Reservation online was easy, online menu description was good. When we came there, we were warmly greeted and seated at a table. Our server commented on available menu, discussed options and offered advice. There was no pressure, just friendly advice. We ordered 1 glass of red wine ($16), 1 ice tea ($4), 1 lobster bisque ($16), 1 grilled bass ($50), 1 filet mignon ($54), 1 NY strip steak ($64), 1 side potatoes ($15) , 1 side mushrooms ($16) and 1 creme brulee ($12). Birthday lady got free cheesecake for dessert. The service was excellent and non-obtrusive, giving us time to eat and talk - but not having us wait. Wine was good, all food was very good, tasty and very well prepared. If you want to have a good food experience - go there. Note that the total with tax was $262, $310 with tip for 3 people. As financial policies of our government devalued dollar by 30-40% over the last few years, this is about the same amount in 2016 dollars that this dinner would cost back then (i.e. $170-200). If you do not like today's price taq - use your chance to do something about it in November 2024.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIP. Our waiter Eric, was amazing! Our drinks never stayed empty for long and we didn't have to look for him at anytime. Eric had eyes on everything. The food was the best we have had. Melt in your mouth Filets, lamb chops, Ribeye and Lobster tail. We will definitely come back for more!
