My favorite in Philly. I’ll miss you much.
Very nice BYOB for pre-theater dinner. We enjoyed the zucchini ravioli, halibut, and snapper. The chèvre cheesecake was outstanding (if a bit petite).
Glad to have a few more chances to enjoy Russet. The guest/alumni chef provided a delicious five course meal with wonderful treats. Particularly liked the pasta dish and the halibut, but all good. Service was excellent. Russet is finishing with a flourish--thank you!
We had one night to visit when on a vacation in Philly and we made a great choice. Pity we heard the place is closing down soon, we don't know why.
Food and drinks were carefully created and presented, we enjoyed our evening.
Inventive, fresh cuisine. Unfortunately, it's closing end of this month!
Always a fantastic experience at Russet. From the food to the service, it was a great time out.
Russet was really wonderful. The food was delicious and our server was really sweet. The ambiance was very romantic and made for a great night. We ordered the spaghetti alla chitarra to start and it was very good. I ordered the sea bass and my boyfriend got the pork chop.
Everything was beyond perfect but then my boyfriend's pork chop came out and when he cut into it, it was completely raw. Inedible. A gentleman at the table next to us also had a raw pork chop. We quietly let them know, and the waitress was very gracious about it. About 15 minutes later a new piece came out and it was lovely.
We were a little surprised to see there was no offer of a discount or complimentary dessert or anything like that given being served raw meat is a big of a shock, but it didn't ruin the experience. We still loved Russet and are sad that it is closing, but wish the owners the best on their next chapter! If you can go before it closes at the end of June, I highly recommend it!
Lovely and delicious!
Terrific food. And a very friendly staff. The salmon was excellent as a main course, and we sampled a couple of the pastas as a first course. All excellent.
Sorry that this was our last visit to Russet before it closes at the end of June. But it was an excellent meal and I hope the owners and chef will relocate somewhere else in the not too distant future
Possibly my favorite dining room in Philly, among my favorites anywhere.
Russet has been one of my favorite dining spots since they opened. I find an excuse to travel to the city just to dine there. My choice for special occasions. I am going to miss Russet!!!!
Excellent as always. Stunning pork chop, delicious bass...
Outstanding farm-to-table restaurant, close to Kimmel and Performing Arts area. Very fresh food, prepared exceptionally well. Best pork chop!! Scallops, Sea Bass were also excellent. No wine uncorking fee. Server was also very attentive and helpful. Would Certainly go back again.
I met a friend here for dinner. I'm so surprised that this restaurant is on the Philly Mag top 50. It's not that great. The food was good enough, but there wasn't anything outstanding about it. We ordered the lasagnette (sp?), beet soup with arctic char crudo, tile fish, and scallops. They were all good. But I wouldn't come back here again. Oh and we ordered the brown butter tart (I think it was), and I didn't care for that.
One of the most excellent meals I've ever had. Mushroom lasagnette was beyond heavenly and the scallops over fennel/onion slaw was orgasmic. I heard they're closing and that's a shame as I'd want to return many times. Go now before that happens!
A delightful evening with wonderful food and impeccable service! Thank you!
Always our favorite dining establishment in Philly and, for that matter, anywhere that we've dined on this planet. To be greeted by Rory at the door is quire enough to guarantee a delightful evening or, in this case, exquisite brunch. Our server, Bethany, so skilled, professional, delightful, outgoing, and engaging in conversation, made us feel so much at home. The food, the artistry in preparation, always the best anywhere in our estimation. We always return with our taste buds prepared.
The meal was wonderful. The food was delicious. Three in the party had the tilefish and were very happy. I had the lamb and it was terrific. We shared apps and desserts. All excellent.
Although the menu is not huge, the diverse menu and use of in season ingredients resulted in a fantastic meal!
Excellent food and service. Even though farm to table they were creative with preparations
We love Russet and so sorry to see it closing in June. It has been our long time favorite place to dine when in the city for the Philly Pops shows, of which we are season ticket holders. All the best to the owners and their employees.
Delicious food and great service. This place will be missed.
I shall miss this wonderful restaurant. Food, service and ambiance are always first-rate.
Innovative food using fresh local items. White asparagus crostini and tuna tartare appetizers were perfect amounts, well presented with good flavor combinations. Grilled sea bass and lamb entrees had nice balance of vegetables, texture and flavor. Black Forest cake was perfection. Service efficient and friendly. We’ll be back!
Fantastic-- this place never disappoints. Creative, innovative, and incredibly delicious. I will be very sorry to see Russet's close, having very fond memories with friends and family at this restaurant. I wish the owners and staff all the best in their new pursuits!
Thank you for many wonderful meals. Good luck in your new ventures!
We had a lovely dinner. Wonderful atmosphere. My friend had the seared sea bass and i had the spring lettuces and asparagus crostini. Delicious.
We are truly saddened that we won’t be able to repeat our experiences. We have enjoyed every meal we have had with you. The lamb was superb, the tuna tartar freshly interesting, both fish dishes delictible. We wish Kristin & Andrew success in your next venture. If it is local please put us on your contact list. It would be lovely if it was as convenient to the Kimmel.
Russet is consistently excellent in every aspect. A gem of a restaurant in Center City.
Another wonderful dining experience at Russet. Pre-theater, friendly and professional service moved along multi-courses so we were out in time. Delicious seasonal offerings enjoyed by all: spring lettuces, aspargus crostini, spring lamb, ramps, an amazing pasta with seafood--yum, yum, yum.
Amazing! Loved everything about it. The pasta dishes were great, don't miss them.
Deeply sorry Russet is closing! a Philadelphia gem.
Great! Food was delicious and pretty unique. Great service and fun evening with family and friends!
We were saddened to find out that Russet is closing its doors on June 30, 2019. After moving to Philadelphia almost two years ago, this has become our favorite restaurant in town -- excellent food, nice wait staff, and love the BYOB aspect. We will miss it.
Food and service both excellent. Highly recommend.
Fresh food and wonderful flavors. The sea bass was excellent.
Russet is one of the best restaurants in the city
Food was great
The service and atmosphere was lovely. The food itself was truly outstanding. Have already recommended to others and will definitely be back
