   What a complete disaster. Service was awful. Food was sub-par at best. Our waitress, Caitlin, was one of the worst servers I've ever encountered. She could not have cared less about our experience. And, for an establishment that touts as their motto "heirloom ingredients, preservation, and sustainable meats and seafood lead the way to crafting our menus," the food left us both perplexed. The charcuterie was average, and the Steakhouse Burger was was devoid of flavor. If you're going to have six total entrees/large plates I would hope each would stand out as a paragon of that offering. I've had a better burger at Five Guys (and here I thought that the 5G burger was expensive). The mushroom toast was good, but not memorable. And, the one standout was the Benton's Old Fashioned. The bacon infused bourbon was outstanding. Overall, an extremely unacceptable experience, both from a culinary, service and value perspective. Do better, Haymaker.

   It took our waitress about 20 mins to acknowledge we were there. A hostess took our drink order and a manager brought them to us before our waitress ever came over. She maybe checked on us twice. I would understand if she seemed super busy and was apologetic but that wasn't the case. The food was good but not good enough to make up for the poor service.

   Our server never checked on us after we ordered our food. We had a different server bring us a refill of water before our food arrived and never had a refill after that. Then we sat for 10 mins waiting for our checks, at which point when the server greeted another table without even looking out way, we got up to go downstairs to pay for our food. The server saw us get up to walk downstairs and then stopped us to ask if we were ready to close out.

   I really enjoyed the server, Grace. She was knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and just a ray of sunshine. The food was tasty and came out quick. I do realize this is a farm to table restaurant, but $15 for two eggs, two regular slices of bacon and some potatoes is a but much. And $25 for a 5 ounce steam? Again, the food was good just over priced. I'm not anxious to return but also not opposed. Personally I was not thrilled by the jalapeño biscuit. I'd rather my meal be served with the beignets- oh man, I put the raspberry jam inside the air pocket of one of my beignets. Top notch.

    The restaurant is very pretty. I had book a table over a month ago so I was disappointed when we were shown to a table upstairs across from the bathroom. Our waiter was very good. We ordered a prawn appetizer for 4 and when it arrived the shells were on the prawns, so we were picking off shells covered in curry....it was so messy, it was ridiculous. I ordered the pork shank at the waiter's recommendation and it was perfect, fall off the bone and seasoned deliciously. My husband ordered the fish of the day, flounder, and didnt care for it. It did not have any flavor. The mojo sauce it came with did not have any flavor, he asked for more mojo sauce, which our waiter quickly brought, but the sauce was flavorless. Our cocktails were delicious. I had a glass of pinot noir that was delicious. It is very expensive, but then everything is expensive. Nothing stood out to me that would make me recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    I was disgusted after watching employees put thier hands and eat out of the chip bin that is being used to serve guests from. I watched over 6 employees walk by in 30 minutes and eat out of the chips.

    Terrible experience. Terrible service. We had to ask for water and for someone to take our drink order. Then Took 50 minutes to get one of the three drinks we ordered. Other two were still not on the table. We cancelled our food order and left. The restaurant wasn’t that busy and appeared to be adequately staffed. Will not return.

    We came up from Orlando and the Chef I work for said this was the spot to go To in Charlotte. We had the mushroom toast, tagliatelle, flounder, burger and Mac and cheese. Everything was phenomenal, food, service, ambiance. The restaurant is beautiful and I love the use of all the local farms. I would come back to Charlotte JUST for this restaurant. You all crushed it!

    Amazing flavors! We had the strawberry-beet salad, the straw and hay tagliatelle, and the pork. The whole meal tasted of spring! It's been a long time since I've had something with flavors that were so interesting and vibrant. The green garlic in the farro with the pork made us want to lick the bowl. My friend scraped every bit of sauce out of the tagliatelle. Wow. So good

    The food was awesome. Their drinks were great, but a little pricy. Our server, Grace Hobbs was amazing. She had a lot of energy and knew her stuff. Very good. The Pork Belly Shank was amazing. The Grilled Chicken was a little bland/dry.

    Our server Grace was terrific. As with most uptown Charlotte restaurants they are beautiful spaces but the food is not great. Two pasta dishes came out cool and lacking in flavor, one hamburger ordered medium came out so overcooked that my husband burned his tongue on the first bite. We didn't have the patience at the time to send everything back. Good looking bar for drinks and to try some appies.

    We had a great time. It was our first visit so we sat at the bar. We really enjoyed the bartender and the drinks. The food was okay as well, just a little less options than expected. Otherwise it was an amazing experience. I will definitely return.

    Grow of 4 celebrating new jobs. Pasta was tasty but slightly over cooked. The real star of entrees was wine braised pork shank which two of us had. Dessert was just crumble with berries and no other choices. I expected better, but maybe pastry chef was out. The waitress originally from NJ was wonderful and very helpful with wine pairings and service.

    Nice atmosphere, went for Sunday brunch. We all had steak and eggs and no one’s steak was cooked to the temperature requested. The chefs cocktail of the day was good. We’re from out of town but if I was a local I would give it another try.

    Food service was slow which is not unusual in today’s world but the food was over-cooked across the board. The eggs, the steak, the hash browns, the chicken sandwich, the bacon. Very disappointing. First time was so much better. Place really went downhill. Last time I will be going.

    Waited 15 min to put in a drink order, then another 15 before we got 1 of the 3 drinks we ordered (2 bloody marys and a coffee so, ya know, pretty standard brunch fare), 10 min later finally got last 2 drinks. We decided to just cut our losses, get our check and leave, if it’s 40 min to just get drinks what would we even have been looking at for food? Disappointed, menu looked great.

    The Haymaker is right up there with one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had, and that's saying something-this girl is a foodie! The food, beverages, service, & atmosphere was TOPS!! A definite spot to put on our return list!! Try it today!

    Overall food was very good. However, eggs over medium cooked too done twice. Also, biscuits were too hard. Maybe an off moment in the kitchen. Food selections and seasonings were great though. We will try again ;)

    The food was good. Our service was lacking, however. Our party of 3 all drank water for our beverage. It was served in a small glass without ice and was tepid. That was not necessarily a problem but since it was a hot day we drank these initial glasses quickly. It took quite a while for the server to visit our table again so our glasses sat empty for most of that wait. She noticed when she returned and said she’d be back with a pitcher. It took another while for her to return. She filled it and we did not see her until well after we received our food. Since we were nearly done with our meals at that point our glasses were again empty. She showed her displeasure in her expression and said “I guess I’ll need to get the pitcher again for you. “ We thanked her She went to get the pitcher and came back, filled our glasses and then said “Should I just stand here to refill your glasses again?” We could have laughed it off graciously but her tone and facial expressions made it clear she was not joking. It was a Sunday Brunch but it was not busy. Either way there no excuse for pure rudeness. I can let a lot slide having been in the industry myself but borderline hostile behavior is not OK. Especially when your customer is not giving you attitude in return.

    Food was either tasteless or super acidic to an insane degree. Even the bacon was bland. Service was okay but for the price definitely lacking. Ambience is really nice but the food and service are just sad. Maybe a good place for a drink at the bar but above all stay away from their fried tomatoes unless you like chemical burns with your morning coffee.

    We had a 10:45 reservation for lunch, we arrived at 10:45 on the dot and were seated right way. Our server did not approach us until 11:45 to ask for our drink order. She did not address our wait or even offer an apology. The restaurant was NOT overbooked and they were not short on help, as there were many employees visibly walking around. We had to ask for a server. Our food arrived somewhat room temperature with no taste at all. This restaurant came highly recommended. I would not recommend.

    The layout of the restaurant is beautiful. There's a bar area,an upstairs, and a main eating area. The food was just okay. I had the haymaker breakfast and my daughter had French toast. Both dishes were good but not great. Our glasses were not clean and our small plates were not clean. In spite of all that our servers were excellent and the ambiance was excellent.

    Server was new but it felt as if she wanted to get away from us as soon as possible. I was wondering if we somehow made her feel uncomfortable. Other than that I liked what the restaurant stood for…farm to table. The large plate selection was short but the chicken was delicious.

    Let me start by saying I am a classically trained with ten years of kitchen experience and am the CDC of a fine dining restaurant in Asheville, NC. I say that not to be pretentious or a jerk but so I will be taken seriously and not written off as a "know-nothing Karen". Almost all of the food was under-seasoned and some not seasoned at all (the creamed greens on the chicken entree), the portion sizes were small compared to the price (only the pork shank was a decent portion/price value; the charcuterie board was lacking in quality and the variety was poor, certainly not worth the price). The mac and cheese dish was topped with raw, untoasted panko. The pickle board was overly vinegar heavy (yes, I am aware that vinegar is a substantial part of the pickling process but there is a limit) and every pickle was flavored strongly with winter spices despite it being the middle of May. Our server was also not of the quality I'd expect from a restaurant where one easily spends $100 a head. He kept blatantly referencing the fact that he was using "sales tactics" (his words) on us which seemed uncouth at any establishment. He was also training a server (I found no problem with this) but he would leave us with her for 30-45 minutes at a time without checking in. This would not have been a problem except the trainee clearly was not at that point in her training and seemed very uncomfortable on top of not knowing how to handle basic serving situations. Overall, I felt the experience was not worth the money spent and unless things changed I (nor the two other members of my party) have no desire to return or recommend Haymaker to anyone. I am sorry to be so negative but there sere simply not many positives to our dining experience other than the food coming quickly.
