A Mano PHL
Wonderful meal and overall experience - highly recommend the tasting menu.
It’s in my neighborhood food is great eat staff wonderful only problem is the noise but we go early not so bad
The food was delicious, the fish was cooked to perfection. Service is very friendly & hospitable. It’s a BYOB and we like that. One suggestion, the menu changes and it is not ordinary Philadelphia Italian so I suggest checking it on line before booking.
The food is fabulous! My husband and I had tuna crudo appetizer which delicious. For dinner, I had the barramundi and my husband had the pork shank, both of which were prepared to perfection. This restaurant would be a perfect spot for dinner; however, it is a bit noisy and difficult to hold a conversation.
The restaurant is an intimate neighborhood gem. The food is delightful. The deserts are wonderful. I can’t wait to go again.
Love the food. But, won't go on a Sat. night, again. Too loud.
Everything was amazing, except the noise from the table behind us, a table of six, 3 women were extremely loud and obnoxiously screaming!! If it wasn’t for that, everything would have been perfect!!
1st time dining here. Wow—it was fabulous. For sure I will be back!!
Great service, food and ambiance.
Great food and byo restaurant
Was not so impressed with dessert but the rest was fantastic!
What a pleasure to have a consistently wonderful meal prepared by the chef. He is always trying something different. so you have that terrible decision to make, go to your favorite or try the new dish. The new dish never fails to be great.
We had the tasting menu, it was incredible. The service was great the courses we brought out timely, never felt rushed. I recommend it highly
I come to A Mano almost once a month and it never disappoints. The dishes are thoughtfully prepared and service is always lovely.
We love this neighborhood restaurant, so this review should be taken in the context of us being usually blown away.
A couple of minor dish corrections I would like to see.
First, the gnocchi. I thought it was a bit overwhelmed by the the pantaleo. It came through as too "lemony".
Secondly, the Frutti di Mare was a tad bit salty.
Otherwise, a great evening and we'll be back!
We have been to this restaurant five or six times since it opened. It’s in our neighborhood and byob, so we keep coming back and trying to like it. We REALLY want to like it because it’s so convenient, but we find the food to be somewhat greasy (too much olive oil) and over salted. The service is always especially pleasant and attentive, and the pa e of the meal is just right.
We had a wonderful time at A Mano. Our servers were both very helpful and charming. All the food we tried was truly excellent; it was intelligent, well-crafted, and delicious (we gobbled up every bite). We shared three flavorful appetizers and a main-course pasta, and it was enough food for two on a hot (heat-wave) night in Philly, when you add in the fabulous home-baked focaccia served with yummy whipped olive oil/butter. The pasta with the escargot was truly scrumptious if a tad too salty; however, that is our only small issue, and we would love to go back and sample everything on the menu! We liked the pleasantly unpretentious ambiance as well.
I have been to Amano for almost 10 times.
Food quality is consistently good but without a great change to menu. Lively or noisy is your preference. Service is generally good but either you are waiting for table for a long time or you are being bullied to leave your table. If you like a relaxed dinner, not the best place. If you are there for good food and move on, it is OK. Much better for a week day winter dining
Great anniversary dinner. Loved it all
Tasting menu was unreal from start to finish! Service was top notch! Highly recommend we will be returning for sure!
Sat outside because it was perfect al fresco dining weather tho it was noisy inside due to several large parties. Lovely waiter, food delish and plenty of on street free parking after 6. Definite repeat
Amano is a wonderful restaurant. Chef Michael and his crew always make for an enjoyable evening. Some of the best pasta dishes in the city. Great room. Great people. All good.
Always amazing food- great service and ambience. Our favorite BYO
Fantastic pasta and service. Isaiah our server gave great recommendations and the food (from apps to dessert) was beyond our expectations.
The staff is phenomenal and catches every detail, especially the timing of your experience. The food is authentic and always feels exciting. Other pluses: BYOB, seasonal menu, great dessert selection, and small open space that feels intimate.
A good but not outstanding meal. Really enjoyed the mushroom ravioli. Had a 7:00 reservation on a Wednesday night. By 8:00 it was hopping and hard to hear conversation at our table. Ended our meal early because of noise level
everytime that we go to A Mano we leave wanting to return. This time was no different. Our friends also felt the same way. The food was excellent and the service very attentive to our needs. We will return soon.
I have eaten here before and enjoyed it, but on this Saturday night, the eve of my partner's birthday, the noise level was out of control. Our table for two was squeezed in between two four tops, and the people next to us were noisy and they're conversion which we couldn't help but hear was incredibly obnoxious. As soon as we finished our main courses, I asked for the bill, rather than stay for the dessert I had organized when making the reservation. I paid in cash since that's what they require, but the server wasn't picking up the payment with any speed. I ended up leaving a much too large tip just to get us out of there. Birthday blown! My advice, if you want to go to A Mano avoid weekends at all costs since that special evening will be anything but!
A Mano is always fabulous! It is our favorite place to bring people when they visit us in the city. The food is so great and the servers are kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
AMano is lovely. Always interesting, captivating dishes done well. Excellent pastas! Pork Shank to die for! The staff is great and attentive w/o being in your lap.
Bring a nice bottle and mangia!
Great food! Would highly recommend
The food was delicious! 3 of us shared 2 starters, 2 small pastas, and the pork shank and left very full. The pasta was outstanding! Even though we were full, we wished we'd order more of both. The service was good and attentive. The restaurant was packed which made it very loud. I honestly had some trouble hearing my friends. I'd say that was the only negative for me about the whole experience!
Innovative and delicious food
Excellent service to compliment the meal
The food was high quality, and the service was equally good. I highly recommend this place. Only con is cash only.
This was our 3rd visit over the last few years and a very good restaurant has become a great restaurant. Every single dish was beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was attentive and its great it is a BYOB. It is a bit loud but not so as to stop conversation. Highly recommended.
Cute BYOB (cash only) restaurant but not the best pasta in the city. It was good but I would argue a little over rated. Sauces were heavy/hearty and given June 22nd, a lighter menu is definitely in order. Everything was flavorful, though a little too heavy and eventually the flavors get lost. By entrée, we were saturated. Cute location, a nice neighborhood restaurant but nothing on this visit said we need to return immediately.
The food is bursting with flavor so much thought and creativity has clearly been put into the menu! Highly recommended one of the best restaurants in philly!
The food was delicious and the service was great! Love that it is BYOB. The pasta course was our favorite. Great olive oil! Wish there were more dessert options that aren’t ice cream or related items. They also didn’t mention our anniversary though I booked the reservation and they knew it was. Only two negatives really.
Fantastic food—the best pasta in the city, inventive without being gimmicky, wonderfully balanced dishes. Flavor, flavor, flavor. Every bite a delight. I usually get a starter and two half dishes of pasta. The mains are good, but don’t change often and, while delicious—especially the braised pork shank—are not as delicate, and I prefer the variety. Every pasta dish is a gem, from pillowy goat cheese gnocchi to smoky bucatini to the lovely, chewy lamb pappardelle. Try the sides, as well! And leave room for the always on point desserts ! It’s not cheap, but you save on drinks (byob), so it comes out very reasonable. Remember, though, cash only. The only downside is it does get LOUD at peak hours. Reserve a late table (9), and it quiets considerably.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back !
