Mick was an amazing server ! He made excellent suggestions and was very attentive. Was with my best friend and boyfriend and we had a great time in a beautiful atmosphere. Food were delicious and we will be back and ask for mick!
Excellent meal, service was amazing and whole lobster entree prepared to perfection. Crab cheesecake appetizer was yummy too.
Our waiter was outstanding!!! Great food also. I would recommend the crab cheesecake!
My second visit here was even more superb than the first. The restaurant was quiet, every aspect of the decor is inviting and exquisite. Sergio was accommodating and professional with a huge warm smile throughout our dinner. Daniel, our server, was quirky and engaging, we wanted for nothing, and really made our experience special. The food was on point, cooked perfectly and tasty as can be. We never felt rushed, timing was wonderful. We felt spoiled and cared for every moment.
I took my wife there recently for our 13th wedding anniversary - and we were blown away - incredible service, atmosphere and our server was exceptional - food was tremendous! Great night - will be back - most definitely - david & Lori Sweeney
Interesting location. Upstairs was a little loud. Service was attentive and informative. Food was excellent. The eggplant casserole was very tasty and so was the Surf and Turf. The oysters were very fresh tasting and delicious. We also had the baby lamb chops and crab beignets were great.
Service was spot on but the food was not great. I do not think I would recommend.
Nice. Not pretentious like Lambertville. good menu and food was nicely prepared. A bit noisy but enjoyed it.
Always outstanding and never disappointed The wait staff always remembers us and gives top notch service
Went for our anniversary, had a wonderful dinner. Great food, service and experience.
This was our first trip and we were hoping for a great meal as it was our anniversary. My wife was ok with her meal but mine was dreadful. First, the bacon “slab” was actually two huge slabs of bacon fat. Inedible. I was expecting the dish served in New York Prime restaurants, which is actually bacon, and delicious. Then my filet medallions, ordered medium rare, came very rare. I sent it back, waited some time, and was the brought steak which seemed identical, still quite rare. I have been eating steak in restaurants for 50 years so management cannot say I did not understand what medium rare is supposed to look like. This may be a great restaurant and my experience might have been unusual. I don’t know. Nor do I know how a place such as this cannot properly prepare a steak, especially when given two chances.
This was our second time to Marsha Brown's. We went this time for our Anniversary.
The restaurant is very pleasant. The staff is excellent. The food is great. We sat in a love seat next to each other, which was a lot of fun. Go and enjoy for yourselves.
First visit. Great menu, several options that I wanted to try, which is always a great sign. The Gumbo was spicy, flavorful and delicious. The bread and garlic spread were a nice surprise. Even the special cinnamon raisin bread pudding was amazing. Ambiance was great. Service was nearly perfect. Only complaint is that it seemed that our server was annoyed at all the questions my guest had about the menu and ingredients due to his diet restrictions. Other than that, it was perfect.
Great food and service as usual.
Everything was excellent, food, drinks, service, seating, etc. We were seated next to each other on a mini love seat for our 24th anniversary. We will rerun.
The serving sizes for the appetizers were almost insulting for the price. You MUST review portions. Entree sizes are generous and the food is delicious.
My husband and I went to dinner at Marsha Brown’s to celebrate our five year anniversary. The food was outstanding as we started with oysters and coconut shrimp. I ordered the surf and turf and my husband had the NY strip steak and both were incredible. The atmosphere is more quiet and intimate and we had a beautifully decorated table with rose petals when we sat down which added to the nice ambiance. Our only complaint was the service as our server did not have any personality and was not sociable at all. In fact she never even provided us with the information on the specials. Overall we would still go back since we enjoyed our meals and just hope next time we get another server.
I had the jambalaya and I was very disappointed. For $28 it should have had more shrimp and substance to it. Will never go back.
My favorite place! We always have a fantastic meal with outstanding service! I highly recommend Marsh Brown! The unique atmosphere is a perfect backdrop for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
Beautiful on the outside and inside. It's a restored church. Amazing menu with a waitstaff that is very helpful in providing recommendations. Light music playing in the background to match the creole cuisine. One of the best dining experiences I have had. Not cheap, but worth it.
We’ve been coming here for years- one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delish, only I wish they hadn’t changed the creamed spinach recipe recently. Now it’s way too creamy for the amount of spinach in there.
Recently spent a weekend in New Hope and wanted something more than pub fare for dinner. We researched the options and chose Marsha Brown.
Simply one of the best dining experiences we've had in a while...First of all, the restaurant is in an old church. Atmosphere was fun and interesting with stained glass windows and murals.
The food is Creole inspired and exceptional...Both redfish and steak entrees were amazing.
The thing that really made the evening was our waiter-Mick. He proved to be knowledgeable, witty and plain fun to be around. Both my wife and I have been in the food service/hospitality industry for decades and it is truly refreshing to come across someone who "gets it".
We will definitely be returning and have already been recommending Marsha Brown to friends and family.
Thanks to the staff and especially Mick for a wonderful evening!
Good food, great service however 450% markup on wine was sad
Excellent restaurant in New Hope
Good food, Great service..
We were a party of four. My meal and that of my husbands were not edible. The shrimp surrounding my fish was cold and tasteless. There was nothing savory about the overall dish. We believe someone neglected to put rice, meat and seafood in my husbands entree as it looked muddy. We were celebrating the launch of our friends new business so when the Dining room Manager checked in on us we were not forthcoming with our true feelings as my husband and I did not wish to spoil our good conversation with food complaints.
This was not what we expected.
Our server Doug was charming and attentive.
Loved it!!!! Great food
Everything about our experience was very positive. Service was great. Tenderloin strips with garlic potatoes perfect. Fish with shrimp and crab excellent. Warm bread loaf delicious. Meal was a little pricey, no appetizers, one bottle sparkling water, one rose wine, dinners and two crème brulle, $ 100.00, well maybe not really that pricey for the center of New Hope, Friday night before Mama Mia at the Playhouse.
The food was excellent and unique with a mild Cajun flavor. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and cordial. The facility, a converted church, is unique and tastefully decorated for the dining experience. I would return again with my wife and friends to experience the dining and socializing opportunities offered.
The location was perfect! We loved the decor and the stained glass windows in this converted church. Right on the main street in New hope, such a cute little area in walking distance from the Bucks County Playhouse. Our server was spot on with all of his recommendations, and the food exceeded our expectations! The crab beignet appetizers were amazing, and we all loved the bread pudding dessert. Not like bread pudding at all, really like a cinnamon monkey bread!
I’ll never forget that first bite of crab beignet!
The best dinner we have had out in years. Everything was spectacular! The venue is so unique and lovely, the service attentive and charming, the food incredible! We visited for our 36th wedding anniversary. There were rose petals on our table, lovely touch. The price is a bit more but worth every penny. I would highly recommend Marsha Brown's. We hope to get back to New Hope to give them another visit!!!
Marsha Brown, located in a former church, has one of the loveliest settings imaginable -- from genuine cathedral ceiling to tastefully carpeted floor and stained glass windows. Book early and you might even snag one of the prized sofa seats. Service is impeccable, and includes meticulously hand polishing wine glasses until they sparkle. Dishes such as jambalaya are memorable, while various others are savory even if not necessarily in the same league. For dessert, that evening's special bread pudding was one of the best we've had, while mixed drinks are also a cut above. Too, we've found their least pricey wines can be surprisingly agreeable. For example, Bellerouche Cotes-du-Rhone mates splendidly with Marsha Brown's gumbo and jambalaya.
Noise level is light-to-moderate until it starts to fill up, when it begins to rise noticeably. Finally -- yes, there is a real, live Marsha Brown, complete with unmistakable New Orleans accent, who on occasion comes out to chat with guests.
Parking is metered street if you're lucky or early enough. Otherwise, there is valet parking at the front entrance. This is, after all, central New Hope.
From the moment we walked into the door, we felt so welcomed to dine in the CHURCH
the stained glass is amazing
Bless this house brought back memories for one of our guests.
The bread leaves you speechless, just wave for more.
The sweet potato casserole will have you gobbling it all before others, I abstained
as I had the FILET, which is the BEST HANDS DOWN
melts in your mouth with every piece
The CRAB CAKES were the BEST EVER per our guest
THE BREAD PUDDING is ..........OMG NOM NOM NOM NOM
The idea of using an old church and turning it into a restaurant was a great idea. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside. The rib eye's my wife and I ordered were great and cooked as per request. My only complaint was the noise level. It gets a little loud in the main dinning area.
The food, ambiance, service were amazing! It can get really loud but it was all good... we will definitely be back!
I ordered the Eggplant Ophelia and it was so delicious! My husband loved the jambalaya! We didn’t love the gumbo though....
Definitely recommend this place!
This was my second time dining at Marsha Brown’s. It was my 40th birthday dinner with my friends. As always the restaurant was great. The food and drinks were delicious looking forward to coming back next time I’m in town. This is a must if you are in New Hope.
Best filet and crab cakes we've had in a while! Staff is always friendly and John did an amazing job! He felt like a friend to us by the time we left. We will be back again!
