Redbird - Los Angeles
We went to Redbird to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and it was an amazing experience. The service was perfect, and the food was even better. The menu is divided in four groups. The first one is small dishes, meaning you should order roughly two dishes per person and share. That is what we did and it was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to going there again.
Had a great Valentines dinner. The service was good and the food we ordered was exceptional. We had the hamachi crudo and the chicken pot pie to start. The Cavatelli was really tasty/savory! Then finally the rack of red wattle pork. So flavorful and tender over polenta. I would definitely come back again.
New favorite restaurant! Food was amazing!
The chefs are amazing! I love this place, the menu is inventive and the food is consistently of the highest quality and execution - still dreaming about my duck chilaquiles!
Redbird is consistently one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is fantastic and the staff is attentive. Tobin is one of the best bartenders in the country. The cocktails are innovative and the food is outstanding.
Had a great dinner on a Friday evening before 8 p.m. curtain time. Arrived at 6 p.m. and had a lovely relaxed dinner without any problems with timing. Food and service was excellent as usual. This is an excellent pre-theatre dinner option.
They over committed. Food was not served on time. They tried to rush us at the end. Not to mention it was ridiculously expensive. Will never come back again ;(
We were there for Valentine's day dinner. Outrageous optional charge on top of the three course menu. And if you stick with the basic, there is not much to choose from. We ordered the Porterhouse steak for two with $48 surcharge, and it is TERRIBLE. The steak is partially overcooked and partially under cooked. The desserts feels like a stack of cheap supermarkets products.
Some up side:
Service is good.
The Brazilian cheesebread they offered with break is delicious.
Lamb heart tartare is tasty.
Great Valentine's Dinner! Food is incredible at Redbird - never had anything that isn't the best here - the service was a little off (probably due to the volume). Our server was almost non-existent - but we enjoyed once again and will be back!
Vday, beautiful venue
Food and drinks were great.
Rockstar dinner spot! Unfortunately their was a weather concern, and they did not open the roof, but everything else was spectacular.
Great wine Stewart!!
Everything was perfect....exemplary service and great food in a non-pretentious manner. Everything we order prepared with attention to detail. Delicious.
We got to the restaurant and sat at the bar to wait for the rest of our party. We ordered chicken and waffles and financier while we wait and those were good. When we got seated to our table, we ordered 4 different dishes and sad to say that 3 of the 4 dishes were just too salty. We tend to eat on the salty side anyway but these just took it to a different level, borderline inedible unfortunately. I will say though that the service was good and our server was very attentive. Great ambiance too.
Great food, but the service was mediocre and our table-near waiter station- was getting bumped constantly by servers
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. What more could you want?
Fantastic meal as always. Great special occasion destination
Absolutely love Redbird - always fabulous - great food, great ambience, excellent service.
Excellent location for a friends get together. Meals are shareable and delicious. We ordered a desert that took the entire dinner service to make and it was incredible.
Amazing dinner here with my husband. We found this place online and decided to give it a try. We will for sure be coming back next time we are in LA. For starters, we had the pork 3 ways, it was a great French dish, we also had the shishito peppers which were amazing! Plenty of them too. We had the crudo and it was very light and favorful. For the main dishes, we had the duck (which I had decided on when I looked at the menu online. It was divine. Crispy and tender... amazing! We had the risotto and black cod as well and they were both great! We skipped dessert because we had a concert to get to, but I’ll be back!!
Great food and staff expertise...wine selection superb!
A little too loud for my taste but food was delicious !
A fun, unique space with creative twists on traditional dishes. Redbird will definitely join our list of brunch rotations.
The food was incredibly salty. All 3 of my companions agree. I'm a fan of salt, but some items were so salty I couldn't decipher what I was eating. Beautiful bar, great service and lovely atmosphere.
We had reservations at 12 (we were on time). We had to wait 30 minutes in the lounge. The seats were in the same room as the waiting lounge area and the tables were empty. Not sure why we had to wait 30 minutes to sit at the empty tables. Never got to see what the restaurant looked like in other parts, since we only got as far as the lounge. The wall of the bar blocked the view of the restaurant, so it felt like we weren’t part of the restaurant. Food was decent, but not worth the price. Would not come back or recommend friends.
The food was remarkable, with a wonderful wine selection and fantastic ambience. I would go back but the dishes were quite small. The value wasn't there. I left feeling hungry. But what I ate was delicious.
We loved everything! The Thai Crab Soup was terrific. Such a lovely menu. The restaurant attracts a lot of pre-theater diners, so we found the dishes coming out very quickly, even though it was after 7:30 p.m. When we asked our server to "slow it down", he was very responsive. We totally appreciated the opportunity to savor each course and digest a bit before the next one.
We look forward to going back in the nice weather when we can dine on the patio. Loved it all!
Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. A genuinely delicious experience.
Very fun great to just get out and feel fancy haha
Amazing food service
The food was really good, the space beautiful, and the sommelier excellent. But we waited so long for our dishes that we eventually cancelled the last two and asked for our bill. It was insanely slow. I also didn't love how expensive the wine list is. I ended up paying $85 for a great and interesting bottle, but I expect interesting choices at $50, too. All that said, I may try again at some point...the food was that good.
Excellent food and service. Impressive space and a treat for my NY guest.
Killer food and incredible venue with some of the best ambiance in LA. One of the best brunches in LA, if not California.
We arrived an hour early for our reservation, in a bad mood, due to having left a nearby ticketed event early because it was way too crowded. It took less than five minutes for Redbird to turn my bad mood into a very good mood - which is quite a feat!
We were seated at a perfect little booth table in a corner alcove, nice and quiet so we could chat. Hubby’s cocktail was delicious (I didn’t have one), and the wine pairings with our main courses were great. I had the duck and my husband had the wild boar, and we switched halfway through so we could each enjoy both dishes. We are both of German descent, and have dined at many good restaurants in several Northern European countries, but the Spaetzle at Redbird may be the best we have had anywhere in the world. (My husband thinks his mother’s might be better, but…) Our desserts were artful, beautiful, and delicious. Our waiter was perfectly attentive without being obtrusive, and was one of the most cheerfully helpful waiters we have had, recently.
We shall definitely return, next time we are in the downtown area.
OMG!! What a disappointment. Wanted to go to Redbird for the longest time, having heard good things. Our experience last Saturday night was anything but good. Service was friendly enough, but the food was simply awful -- and we do mean awful. The spicy crab soup was actually ok, once you get past the fishiness. However, then we get three disastrous dishes in a row: Lamb Belly was edible, if tasteless. The bass in cannelli beans was just terrible: salty, unpleasant. The duck had no flavor and was dry. I've had better duck at 25 other restaurants. (Want great duck? Try the old-fashioned duck a l'orange at Bistro Garden in Studio City.) The only good news of the night was that management was gracious enough to remove from our bill the charges for the bass and the duck. Suffice to say, we won't be going back any time soon -- or ever.
This place is great! Food was awesome, service was attentive and honest, and the prices are decent!
Dinner for DineLA was really good. Cavatelli was delicious. Great flavor. Hamachi tasted fresh, with a citrus, yuzu taste. Wattle Pork was amazing. Only thing I didn't like was the desserts. The olive oil cake and the sorbet that was on top clashed more than they paired. The raspberry puree with the flourless chocolate cake was too overpowering. Overall, I would definitely come back.
