Zona de Cuba
Zona provides a unique experience that transports you to the comedor at abuela’s house as the whole family sits at the dining table, delighting in their grandmother’s home cooking. Yet, at the same time, we elevate those humble dishes to the highest level. At our sala, you’ll enjoy great conversations and colorful drinks that will make our lounge area make you feel right at home. That home sits in a mystical place in the Cuba, of course!
Place was beautiful food was good I was expecting for it to be great since It took me 2 week to get reservation cocktails was way to sweet. Love the open kitchen was very cool to see all the chefs cooking.
The food was not great
The venue is gorgeous, appetizers were divine but the main course left a lot to be desired. Skirt steak was supposed to be medium and was cooked well done and a chicken and rice dish wasn’t cooked properly, the rice was undercooked (very crunchy) and peas in the dish were crunchy as if they were frozen. On the upside although drinks are pricey (think downtown Manhattan prices) they were very strong.
This is a little gem hidden in the Bronx! When you are there you truly feel like you have been transported to a different place, it doesn’t feel like you’re in the Bronx at all! The food, the drinks & the music was amazing. Service was fast & I was really able to enjoy brunch!
Food = AMAZING the flavor and taste was great. Customer service can be improved. When attending for brunch unable to order from the regular menu. Waitress was a little upset due to drink order and our party asking questions to get clarity. Ordered the shredded steak which was great waitress should ask how customers want their eggs not everyone likes it sunny side up.
Great dinner and great ambiance
My husband surprised me with brunch for our 17th wedding anniversary; everyone from the doorman, reception, wait staff and manager were outdtsnding; the ambiance was friendly and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back - thanks!
Beautiful restaurant with awesome service! Food tasted great! My only peeve is that I ordered a poached egg dish from the brunch menu and was expecting it to be a bit more runny like an eggs Benedict but it was fully cooked. I ate it anyway because it tasted amazing regardless. Overall a great experience! I will definitely be back!
Great place! Good music, food, & drinks. Highly recommend.
I made a reservation and got there on time but couldn’t be seated in the location I requested I was told I would have to wait 1 hour if I wanted to sit in that location I don’t think a reservation is needed for that kind of service
There is not one thing to complain about when visiting Zona De Cuba. From the valet to the service to the mouth watering food and drinks this place never fails to meet and most definitely exceed all my expectations. The ambiance and the vibe you get when entering is amazing ! You really feel like your in Cuba and not in New York!
Very good food and music. Love the energy. Waitress could have been more attentive.
I will be back! Many more times! I was so happy that I had leftovers to enjoy later.
Buen servicio, Buen ambiente y la comida muy Rica.
The food and the drinks were delicious and the ambience is dope
Great experience everything was wonderful my wife’s order was wrong but they was Able to fix it for free love it can’t wait to go back
It's pricey but the food and service is good. It's suppose to be upscale but I seen people with jeans and sneakers.
Valet sign posted $10 for weekday, it was a Wednesday. Valet guy said $20 to park out front you don’t have to wait for your car. When we left car was not out front and we had to wait. Service in the restaurant was horrible. No one greeted us as we got of the elevator. Two employees standing there complaining about their life. finally acknowledged us, ask if I have reservations I said yes she ask indoor or outdoors I told her out. She said I would have to wait. Even after having reservations. Waiting at the Bar. Have to pay there they can’t add it to your table. Get to table little to no food options. Typical Latin food nothing amazing. Over priced flavorless food. Waiter was never around. Don’t know if they have dessert waited half an hour after meal for waiter to come back to request bill. Nice looking place. That is all. Never ever will I go back.
It was a bit expensive, ive been to places downtown and was not as expensive...
Had the worst waitress Paula
She got our Order wrong not once but twice.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
My experience is on par with most of the reviews I read prior to going. The ambience is great! Wonderful for a birthday celebration - my sister loved it! The food is good, but pricey, which is fine as long you know that going in. Our server, Paola was a professional, pleasant and had a great attitude even under the pressure of being the only waitress/server in the outdoor dinning area. I wished I could have gotten her attention more frequently towards the end of our meal, however it is understandable given the demand from other tables on this Monday night. Management need really consider having two servers for customers sitting outside. All staff were very pleasant and professional. FYI. If you are asked to wait at the bar to be seated follow instructions as the hostess won't know you are waiting to be seated if you sit else where. The passion fruit mojito pitchers were great. Finding the place is a bit of a scavenger hunt on the first visit, but all worked out well. The key is to turn off E 149st onto Anthony Griffin Place (a cobble stone street parallel to the train tracks) You will find the entrance & paid valet parking there. We found parking a block away on the Grand Concourse - it was easier to walk and find the place. Over all it was a good night. The Sancocho was great as well as the pork chops and tres leches. Everything was very fresh. Nice to see this type of restaurant having such success. Wonderful for outdoor Summer nights in NY. I hear they will be covering the outdoor area during the Winter months, which will allow for more fun times in that space.
The restaurant has great views even from inside, the server was very nice, the food was a little over price but not bad. I had the pork chops. It came with two pork chops the first one I ate was cook perfectly and very flavorful it was excellent. The second chop was a little over cooked, but the portion was a nice size so I was pretty full by that time. In the end I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.
I came here for my birthday dinner. Pros: food was amazing, the ambiance was beautiful and the waitress was attentive. Cons: they ran out of all desserts!! I’ve never gone to a restaurant where they run out of all desserts and don’t even have fruit available or anything. I was highly upset because I attended this restaurant for my birthday dinner and if I would have known they didn’t have dessert, I would’ve been prepared and brought my own cake.
We were seated very quickly. That was great. Except, we sat at our table for 30 minutes with no acknowledgement. They hadn’t brought us water or utensils. It was a busy Sunday night, but 30 minutes is too long. Finally one of us stood up to get someone. We had a waiter named Franklin, he was GREAT. He literally turned our experience around. The appetizers are great. The food was good. This was more of a dining-nightlife experience. Loud music, people dressed up nicely (that should be explained more). Overall, good experience. Didn’t like the long wait, staff seemed confused as to who’s table was who’s.
This was my third time dinning there, I brought my mother in law with me this time and eventhough I love the place and the atmosphere is great I was a little dissapointed. First thing was the Pina Colada my mother in law ordered was so watery and it seemed made from artificial flavors, cmon a bad pina colada wont ever be forgotten. It has to be made from scratch meaning fresh pineapple juice and coconut cream otherwise it will taste like plastic. Second, 7 mins after we ordered the Chef sampler, it arrived and it was cold, tostones were hard to chew and longaniza was extremely greasy, it seemed like the fritters were already fried and sitting in the kitchen. Third, the Mofonguitos I ordered were very soggy. Anyways I tried to impress my Mother in law taking her to Zona de Cuba and I failed she was a little dissapointed at least only with the food.
But still Sascha our server was Great and the Atmosphere of the place is always amazing.
The first 2 times I went I was amazed of how formal people were dressing, this time not so. Hopefully dress code will still be enforced.
This place was great! I was told good things but it was even better experiencing it on my own. We were seated quickly and our food was brought to us within 15 minutes. The staff were all friendly and the music was great. There was a mix of live music and a dj which was nice. The venue was also beautiful and there are many spots to take pictures. There was valet parking which was convenient and was between $10-20 depending on the day. I am definitely coming back and cant wait to see what else they add!
A group of friends getting together for brunch. There is no bottom less brunch for a large group. We got a pitcher of sangrias to make it easier for the group. The empanadas were good but the food was mediocre.
I've been to many outdoor restaurants and this is the first time I've been seated under the sun without an umbrella.
My experience at zona was amazing. Food & drinks was great and it was quick, I just wished they had a bigger selection for brunch. Overall the place is very nice n the staff were nice.
It’s really nice however we waited over an hour to be seated (with reservations), the drinks were really good and so was the appetizers. Now the food was a different story... rice was very dry and and a little crunchy, almost like it was stuck to the bottom of the pot. Lobster was over cooked but all in all we enjoyed ourselves.. not sure if I’ll go back for dinner but definitely for drinks
The food was amazing our waitress was extremely friendly and made it her business that we got the best experience. The live music is very unique I felt like I was in another world. Decor was so breath taking! The only thing that was terrible was the fact I had to wait 45 mins to be seated, I already made reservations but yet still had to wait ridiculously long. Oppose to the inconvenience I still had a great time and love the food!
To expensive for a restaurant by the Grand Concourse. One entree, two meals and a drink each .... $149. The place is nice the music is great, the food tasted bland and need much seasoning. I would recommend for the ambience but that’s about it. The music is very loud which had everyone screaming just to hear each other. Make sure you look at receipt they automatically include the tip even for a party of two.
This place is amazing, and the employees are very friendly. The only problem is the waiting for the table in the weekend.
What’s the point of a reservation if you have to wait 2 hours to be seated? There was no accommodations for people who made a reservation , everything was standing room only. Super dissappointed . No longer want to try here.
Great services,, the food its amazing good music. I loved zona de cuba
Food was delicious, staff was courteous and friendly, the band and music was awesome, the food is a bit pricey but so worth it....everything in general was great!
I’ve experienced Zona de Cuba twice, on a Thursday night and a Friday at lunchtime.
Both times were very enjoyable. Stepping out of the elevator into the restaurant, where you are immediately greeted by very pleasant hostesses sets the tone. The detail to the decor and the ambiance is impressive, including the restrooms. The space is humongous with an extensive wrap around patio that feels like you are at a resort on an island complete with the rooftop breeze, flags blowing, a Tiki Bar and lounge areas. The waitstaff service is impeccable, attentive and friendly.
Most Importantly, the food! Everything starting with the appetizers to the entree’s were Delicious! The mofonguitos- shrimp, chicken, beef were extremely tasty as was the codfish in a sweet plantain. I decided on the grilled pork chops, vegetable fried rice and black beans for the dinner and the chicken breasts for lunch. Everything was yummilicious!
The live music on Thursday night was fabulous made me feel like I was right in Havana as I found myself dancing in my chair! The fact that there is an open kitchen and you can see the food as it is being prepared is a really nice touch! Needless to say, I will be back to try everything on the menu and will spread the word!
We met the owner at our lunch visit, he was very gracious and chatted with us for a bit.
El ambiente muy agradable, el servicio excelente.
Fuimos 6 personas y de los 6 platos NO hubo ninguna queja, realmente un buen lugar para compartir con tus amistades o pareja👌🏻
The restaurant is very beautiful and the food is delicious.
