We have been coming here for the past year. All has been good until tonight. Menu and food is different this time around. Server and food quality went down. Wonder if there’s a new chef or staff change overall. We had planned to go again with other friends this week, but decided we’ll cancel the reservation after tonight. Overall experience was okay. It’s just not as good as before.

We enjoyed the almond boneless chicken. We usually order the general Tso’s chicken sautéed, not fried. But we were disappointed that the chickens as cut thin and appeared to be grilled. Not as tender as the chicken chunks you typically serve. Often can be mistaken for the delicious carrots, but this method, more tough and difficult to chew.

My wife and I went for dinner prior to the theatre. We have been here a few times and forgot how good it was. We made a reservation and were immediately seated at our reservation time. We ordered a few happy hour apps (Lettuce wrpas & ribs) both were excellent. Additionally, we shared a spicy salmon roll along with General Tsao's chicken. All the food was served at the right temperatures and tasted great. Service was great and we will definitely be back more often.

Very disappointed in the slow service & lack of communication of our waitress. Food was good once we received it but seemed overpriced for the poor service and quantity. Not sure how the kitchen ran out of miso soup at 7pm on a Saturday night.

WORST restaurant experience of my life. The restaurant wasn’t even half full when we arrived yet we got excuses nonstop- the bar was backed up, the sushi chef REFUSED to make our order with soy wrap, 2 entrees were delivered 25 min. after the rest, and perhaps the craziest was that we never received our white rice even after asking at least 3 times. It literally sits in a big pressure cooker near the service station. Our server offered for the manager to come over, she showed up 30 minutes later, pretending not to know about any of the issues we had experienced. I don’t know what kind of drama is going on behind the scenes but keep it to yourselves. Or don’t; it doesn’t matter to us because we will NEVER be back!

Julian was very nice but overwhelmed. I had the miso soup and it had a hair in it, I ordered a glass of sake and never got it. Ordered a coke and got diet. It was disappointing, we had been excited to try this place

The food is always great, but the last 3 visits the service was very slow, we go in later so are usually there with a few other tables, so you would expect the service to be on point since they are not busy. Last night we had to ask where our server went because we were waiting for her to come back and take our order. There was another server that took over and she was great. Unfortunately, given that this has been a trend with the service, we are going to be changing our Girl’s night dinner location.

Great service, although only two tables filled at late afternoon (off hour to dine out). Shared two sushi rolls - so good! Sometimes servers forget you at that off-hour - and our server was so attentive nonetheless. See you for dinner next week!

I made a special request for a table near a window or booth If available . We were sat at a small cramped table behind a large party having to do quite a bit of navigation to get into our seats. I noticed there were ample tables available including several booths in a quieter area . I did request to be moved and the hostess did comply. I requested the quieter area in a booth which was my original request . The overall food experience was a disappointment . We were told there was a new cook but we were optimistic . We ordered hot tea and was told that sweetener was not available . One cup one tea bag and any refill consisted of hot water only as additional tea bags were not an option . The appetizer was burned, noodles were undercooked and chewy and vegetables were basically raw. The undercooked noodle dish was dry and lack luster to say the least. We asked for for soy sauce which surprisingly was not readily available. The environment was nice and the waitress was friendly doing her job and adhering to the instructions she was given I am sure . Overall I will not return as it seems this restaurant has some things they need to work on.

First time at Zao Jun, my hubby and I were pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing, the drinks were amazing and food absolutely delicious, flavorful and off the chart!!! You won’t be disappointed!!

Restaurant is super loud and boarder on obnoxious. Super bright lights, nothing to absorb restaurant sounds, screaming kids, and less than desirable decor with what feels like a seedy hotel bar in the back.

Julian was a very attentive waiter. Excellent service! Food and wine selection great! Would love to see a few wine choices “made from organic grapes” on your list . Would be an excellent way to introduce some new wine. Lots to choose from these days.

My food was not up to the restaurant’s normally delicious standards. The crab Rangoon appetizer was brought out overcooked and crispy twice!! I ordered sweet and sour shrimp and asked that the shrimp be grilled instead of breaded. The shrimp were nickel-sized (!) and my server had to explain to the chef that they should be the same size shrimp used when breaded! The redo was fine. Through this all, our server Julian was kind and helpful. I will note the my food was comped at the end, but this was not the best dining experience.

This was our first visit to the restaurant and the atmosphere is great. The food was exceptional and cocktails were great, but a little slow. They needed one additional bartender to handle rail service for the dining room. Overall, it was a great meal and we will absolutely return.

First time visiting Zao Jun. My husband and I decided to stop in for Happy Hour. We had a great Waitress/ Bartender Casey. The happy hour menu was good. I definitely recommend this place. I don’t really know how busy it gets because we went late afternoon.

The food we had at Zao Jun was excellent as was the service. We had Broccoli Fries, Short Rib Bai Buns and the Chicken/Shrimp Stir Fry with Vegetable Fried Rice instead if the white rice. Enjoyed it all.

Our server was attentive. Alcohol was good. It’s a little too loud in there for us. The restaurant is like a bar with Americanized Asian food. It’s not bad, but I’ve had better elsewhere.

The broad menu offers dishes for non-sushi lovers and many delicious sushi options. We were surprised at how delicious the food was for being located in a strip mall. It was hopping on a Friday night with most tables full. It is a loud restaurant, however, and the service was slow. Our server never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks. We'll be back.

Scheduled a birthday dinner for my wife and 6 friends. Service was outstanding. The noise level in the restaurant made it VERY difficult to hear any type of group conversation. This made it more of a dinner with most having individual conversations and diminished the feeling of any birthday party atmosphere. The food was okay, but not as tasty as our last visit. Nice place and we'll return, but not for any group dinners
