The entire meal and experience was exceptional.
One of the best meals I have ever had. A dining experience that is truly memorable.
Wish I could give it 6 stars! Incredible food and service, from start to finish. For one of the best restaurants (if not THE best!) in the country, the ambiance is not pretentious in the slightest. Chef is actually in the line cooking! Amazing place. Hope to return soon.
This is our third time dining at Zahav. Food is alway fantastic. I do think they could vary the menu a bit more particularly the hot items. Service is good although sometimes the service staff is a bit stuffy and attitude bloated. Also, one of our guests was a vegan and they bought a regular menu with all items not vegan crossed out with a black marker. Really? What’s so hard about printing a menu for vegetarians and vegans? Lots of restaurants have separate menus and leave the sharpie markers in the drawer. Additionally, another complaint is the cleanliness of the dishes. Few of the plates were dirty, flatware dirty and my coffee cup was stained terribly inside and had red lip stick on the outside. I guess paying attention to details slips thru the cracks when you receive big awards. Not sure we will return. Restaurant of this supposed caliber should have every i dotted and t crossed without exception.
This is a dining experience! Loved it! I could have had the hummus for all my coyrses!
Seriously, probably the best meal in my life! I've done the tasting twice now, and it's to die for. The glazed, barbecued lamb shoulder is mind-blowing (and I don't usually like lamb)!
Absolutely delicious, with superb service, and nice atmosphere.
Great food. Got burned on service. Frustrating as a table of VIPs behind us got showered with off menu items.
What can you say about a restaurant that just won the James Beard award for the best restaurants in the country. Everything was great. You will not get better hummus anywhere. The food was abundant and delicious. The desserts alone were worth the price of the meal, which was surprisingly modest. I have already planned my return visits. My one issue was that I did not realize one could avoid all the steps to get into the restaurant if you went to the back entrance. For those with limited mobility it is important to know this.
I’ve been to zahav twice. I preferred the menu from my March visit. Did not care for the one from my June visit. It would have helped if our vegetables were delivered on a timely basis.
Excellent food as always. Our server went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dinner.
Definitely worth the 2 month wait to get in here. Everything from the staff to the drinks to the food to the atmosphere.. every single thing was outstanding. We will definitely return. Many times.
I had 10pm reservation and had to wait 18 minutes to get seated. Service was excellent. It was my daughter’s birthday which I noted on Open table reservation and sent email directly to restaurant four days prior but they forgot to send dessert with candle. Food was outstanding.
Music was a tad too loud most of the time. Also, should consider playing edited music
Always an amazing meal! Everything was delicious, the service is impeccable, and the price, while not cheap, is worth every penny.
Amazing! Best food I have tasted on this side of the world. Service was great. The Chef is a very humble and generous person. We will definitely have to come back to Philly to eat there again!
Everything was amazing!
Our dining experience was everything we hoped it would be at Zahav. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent suggestions for us. We enjoyed the Taste of Zahav along with the wine pairing so we were able to sample a lot dishes on the menu. My favorite was the hummus and six small salads. The service was impeccable from start to finish.
Amazing service! Emily the bartender is phenomenal!
Six of my favorite co-workers got introduced to Zahav. It never disappoints!
Waiter was rude , didn’t allow me to order desert and pack it. I asked another waitress who told me theees no rule for me packing my dood so she told him and he then told me I am allowed to pack
Perfection! Lives up to the best restaurant in the country award. Just hard to get a ressy but so worth the wait!
It was a non-precious, straight up good food dining experience. I would go back often if I could (ie get reservations)
Great restaurant whether you are dining for the first time or you are repeat customer. Start to finish, you will not be disappointed.
Good value for food, cocktails/wine list is also great. Tiki on Tigris is the best cocktail, I recommend a bottle of wine (to go with your meal) as well as cocktail(s) of your choosing for some fun/variety. If you have a bad time, the problem is you.
I’ve been to every restaurant on any “best of” list in the city since 2012 when I moved here (Philadelphia). This is one of best as far as value for the quality and amount of food.
Definitely worth all the hype! Would strongly recommend the $60 tasting menu (that features the famous lamb - and yes! That is definitely worth the hype as well)! No better spot in Philadelphia for a nice night out for a fun or special occasion.
Amazing from A to Z. I would go to Philly just to go back there.
Simply one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Wonderful way to celebrate a birthday!
Absolutely amazing food. Highly recommend doing the pre fixed/ course menu and come hungry!! They also do an excellent job with celebrating birthdays.
Don’t see what all the fuss is about. The food was good but not great. My dining companion who also lived in Israel said she felt the same way. A few things stood out as most just average on the tasting menu. The staff was great however Another couple got the tasting menu seated near by and felt the need to light up the nicely lit room by taking photos of each course . All diners around the area seemed also look in dismay as the wait staff did nothing to discourage these rude foodies from impinging upon everyone else. Glad we went but no need to return.
The 2nd visit was as good as the first. The food quality is amazing as is the staff and the ambiance. Reservation was sat early, and they had a specialized menu for my birthday!
The most fabulous restaurant.........cannot speak more highly. The food was super amazing, and the service matched. The Hummus and bread (Laffa) were so good, that if they had not stopped bringing bread, I would have had that for dinner. Coupled with the most delicious vegetable appetizers, and succulent chicken. (My guests had red meat and loved it, but I do not eat red meat.) Could not have been a more pleasant and enjoyable experience.
The best meal I’ve had at Zahav in my fifth time there.
We LOVED Zahav!! We are huge foodies! Our expectations were very high!! And Zahav did not disappoint!! We got the Tasting Menu and their Wine Pairing too! We almost had to be rolled out of there; We were so full!!! But the food combinations were dynamic and delicious! I highly recommend Zahav to anyone in the Philly area!! Would return in a heartbeat!
We loved the small plates and the hummus was amazing.
The food was outstanding and the staff beyond friendly such a fun night...
From start to finish, Zahav is makes you feel special. Our server, Ben, was amazing! He joked around with us, knew the menu like no one’s business, and made sure us girls had full glasses of rose. The pacing was perfect and so were all of the dishes. This restaurant does live up to all of the accolades it receives and is the true gem on Philly.
Amazing! highly recommend and will definitely go back!
We chose the $48 "prix fixe" menu selection for four people. Our waiter, Shaun, was friendly, knowledgable, and very helpful in explaining our choices and possible selections. We were very pleased with the variety of small salads and laffa bread and the hummus with turkish topping was wonderful.
We all selected different small plates and found the fried cauliflower particularly good. The main grill dishes, Branzini and the chicken and the hanger steak were outstanding.
We all enjoyed a memorable and delicious evening, topped off by the desserts. The only problem we all had was how full we were and needed to walk all the way back to our hotel! Our thanks to the staff and the chef.
