   We had a really poor experience. My partner went to order a smoothie (they had run out of all smoothies) and the peanut butter & banana open toast (no peanut butter). Following our meal, we paid up and were charged a 20% service charge without being informed this was added. It was only following payment we were provided with an itemised receipt. Very poor service. Will not be returning.

   What’s annoying about dining at Wolfox Chapters is how hit and miss the food is, based on who’s in the kitchen. Sometimes you’ll get the most amazingly presented, carefully made food, other times the same dish will look like an unqualified chef made it. So when it’s good, it’s great but when it’s bad, it’s rubbish, and you just don’t know what you’re gonna get when you go in.

   Place was pretty standard with its tasty brunch! Wish they had more options for the brunch menu and the spacing was somewhat tight. Other than that, the food delivered as it’s supposed to with its rich filling nature. Advice: book in advance for a table.

   Slightly disappointed with my breakfast compared to when I have eaten at another Wolfox restaurant - the Broadway in Haywards Heath which was much better!

   While everything was very good, the manager and then the waiter would check if everything was satisfactory 90 secs apart. As we had three courses and coffee, it became rather overbearing and disruptive.

    Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Food delicious. If I have any issue it was with the menu- very difficult to read. Typeface small and on Grey background! We stayed all day eating and drinking as we were enjoying it so much. Thanks again.

    Tiny but quite expensive portions. Service wasn’t good - it took ages to be served and no one cleared our plates at any point. Bit of a weird/stressful atmosphere as well.

    One menu for the whole table, apparently only 3 for the whole restaurant. Ordered bread for the table, we had to chase. It came out with 1 tiny portion of butter. No side plates. Mains were okay but slightly tough and over cooked. Ordered a bottle of red, for the price it was awful. Asked for still water for the table, they brought us 3 little bottles as this is all they had. Tip is then automatically added to a table of 4! If we had a choice we wouldn’t of tipped because it truly was a dreadful experience which is a shame because we’ve had many great experiences at the Wolfox in Haywards heath.

    A truly wonderful experience was provided by Wolfox chapters, the food is a great mix of un pretentious but unique. The staff could not have been nicer of more accommodating of everything from allergies to laughing our bad jokes. My friends and I will be returning every time we come back to Brighton

    Very good experience- food & service good. The young girl even explained the starter (the crab), as I asked a question & said she had tried it & liked it, so that reassured me to try it myself. I didn’t want to have it & need pincers to break open the claws - too messy. Had the aubergine mains (nice flavour) & the lemon posset desert (beautifully served with 3 real flowers on it). My husband tried the crab & had the prawns for mains & truffle & parmigiana chips. All very flavoursome he said. Well done to the chef for creative cooking & flavours & the staff for their knowledge & help & friendliness. Thank you so much. Will definitely visit again.

    Dinner for 2 on a Thursday evening. We ate outside which was ok. The menu was quite limited in comparison to other restaurants of this type, in the same area. 2 of the 3 starters came with sauces, but we had to ask for these as they weren’t given to us when the food was provided. The aubergine main course was poor. Just an aubergine cut in half & scored & still hard. No flavour or interesting plate of food🙁 We ordered 2 sides of Parmesan fries & neither of them tasted of Parmesan at all, just very salty. We decided not to order desert based on the poor starters & mains🙁 The waiter was very pleasant but clearly had too many tables to provide anything like a decent service. On a good note, the bottle of rosè wine we had, was lovely. This was supposed to be a lovely evening dinner with my best mate to celebrate her birthday but unfortunately was a total disappointment. Unfortunately I feel I can’t recommend this restaurant for anything other than the wine🙁

    Staff lovely. We liked the open doors which gave the place an airy feel and you could watch the world go by. All the food was great - only the tofu dish was too dry. Was surprised that there were plenty of free tables on a Sat night.

    It was definitely worth booking as it was Sunday morning and so many people were wanting brunch! I had a biscoff latte which was lovely and not too rich! As well as the overnight oats which were so good! Would definitely go again :)

    I was served a dairy milk latte when I asked for coconut and I am lactose intolerant :( I was told he didn’t hear me and felt as if it was my fault, I was very sick afterwards and had to go home instead of enjoy a day out with my sister, no refund or anything :(

    The staff were so so lovely and really accommodating for the group! They helped to make my friends birthday so special and we really appreciated it. Food was lovely and we even got our own private-ish space. Would definitely come again, thank you!!

    The food and service were good, but not great. Not a huge range of options available, the cooked food was served warm not hot, and the cold food was served frozen not cold. Overall a pleasant experience but not worth returning

    This was my second visit to Wolfox chapters in Brighton with my daughter and we are going to make it a monthly thing as it’s so lovely! I had the best chai coffee I’ve ever had and the field breakfast was delicious, we felt like we were missing out on the pancakes as they looked so good, so we had them to share as a second breakfast 😁 I’m looking forward to many more visits!

    I was very disappointed yesterday I would not recommend this plate for English breakfast , the portions were very small for the price. the quality was not that amazing to justify one egg and one toast for an English breakfast

    I liked the new Wolfox Chapter and the way it combines less formal daytime dining with something more elegant at night. The menu is very flexible with both small plates and main meals. But I did feel it was let down by the staff. The service wasn't bad just a little standoffish and nonchalant.
