We had a very disappointing experience at Wild Sage. We arrived on time, were greeted pleasantly and ordered wine. Our waiter tried to be helpful, but really had no idea about the many French Chardonnay options. We then ordered bread and requested that the bread order be served right away. We waited 20 minutes for our wine and another 10 for our bread. When the bread was served, we asked for butter and were told it was smeared along the inside of the bowl. We still had to ask for more butter later on. Our server never made eye contact throughout the meal, nor did he stop by to check on us. Our carrot side order for our main course was served with the appetizer. My beef entree was smothered in so many peppercorns that it was too spicy to eat, and I couldn’t taste the steak. A few peppercorns go along way! The peppercorn sauce was over salted as well—-basically inedible. A restaurant that aspires to be top tier needs a Sommelier who knows the wine list, can make recommendations and can free up the waiters to get food to the table in a timely manner. As we left, my husband said, “Well never come back here.”

Cherie, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sincerely sorry that we fell so far short of your expectations. The delays, lack of attentive service, and difficulty providing knowledgeable wine recommendations are not the standards we hold ourselves to. You deserved a much more thoughtful and seamless experience. I'm equally disappointed that your courses were improperly paced and that your steak was not enjoyable. I'll be addressing these concerns with both our culinary and service teams. I understand your frustration, particularly given the expectations of dining at Wild Sage. It's disheartening to know you left feeling you wouldn't return, and I'm truly sorry we let you down. Matt Stone Wild Sage General Manager

Very good food but when it got busy, they had a hard time keeping up with orders. They did comp us dessert but a 5:45 meal took almost 2 hours

Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm glad you enjoyed the food, but I'm sorry the pacing of your evening wasn't what it should have been. We put a great deal of thought into how we pace our reservations to ensure every table receives attentive, seamless service, even during our busiest periods. Unfortunately, it sounds like we fell short of that during your visit. I'm glad our team was able to offer dessert as a gesture of appreciation for your patience, though I recognize that doesn't make up for the delays. Thank you again for dining with us, Jennifer. We appreciate your understanding and will use your feedback to continue improving. Matt Stone Wild Sage General Manager

Arrived 14 minutes before reservation. Restaurant had a lots of open tables yet we were routed to the bar to wait. Hmmm…. Nice setting and service. The Waygu beef selection was not available and I was offered a “tenderloin” type cut. It was tough and not appealing. All else was good..
Wild SageResponded on October 15, 2026
Mark, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and service, though I'm sorry other aspects fell short. We're intentional about our seating times, carefully pacing reservations to ensure every guest receives attentive, seamless service. Even when tables appear open, we may invite early arrivals to relax at the bar until their scheduled reservation. I apologize if this wasn't communicated warmly. I'm also sorry your preferred Wagyu selection was unavailable and that the alternative didn't meet expectations. I'll be sharing your feedback with our culinary team. Thank you again for dining with us, Mark. We appreciate your perspective and the opportunity to improve. Matt Stone Wild Sage General Manager

Our food was spectacular and every dish was artfully plated for a wonderful visual presentation. The waiter was intelligent and thoughtful in his explanations of each dish. He made 2 fantastic wine recommendations for the table. Our group was raving about the meal on the way home.

We had a wonderful experience at wild sage! The meal and experience were by far our favorite in Jackson! I have a nut allergy and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my food was safe. The wine was definitely expensive but worth it especially with the guidance of the sommelier! We will definitely be back
