    Excellent food, lovely venue, great service, friendly staff - we go a lot because they look after me with my anaphylaxis to gluten. My wife and I recommend unreservedly.

    Lunch Fri 1/12, 4 people 4 entrees, oysters excellent, scallops v good 2 had Fish of Day mahi-mahi, looked like it had been microwaved rather than pan fried, looked inedible grey altho those who ate it said it was ok, didn’t rave 1 had lobster mornay, she loved it for 2nd time in a week now $265 1 had scotch fillet cos last week my crumbed orange roughy was fried to within an inch of its life. Steak v luke warm. Diff circumstances would’ve sent back but London visitor who I must say loved the ambience. Unfortunately, having lunched here twice in a week, I think the chef is not up to being able to cook seafood rather unfortunate for a seafood restaurant. However, the side dishes are wonderful.

    Beautiful place ,food was awesome, portion size on the Mahi fish was small for the price. My husband said he would need a 2 nd portion. staff were lovely. Overall very nice place .would definitely recommend.

    The waitress wes excellent, telling us the cocktails of the day, specials and explaining our questions. Staff were friendly, food was exactly as per menu, timing was great.

    💕Lunch was very enjoyable. Seafood platter for two and a lovely bottle of wine. Staff provided good service and were welcoming. A must visit when in Port Macquarie.

    Nothing special. The location is great but very pricey for average food. I've ordered the oyster on special. While the raw one had an identity and creativity behind, the cooked one tasted like mustard only. The king fish also in special was a simple slice of fillet cooked on a pan. The dish came without any sort of decoration or presentation. The side of pumpkin was good. I kept this for the last but I've ordered a bottle of wine and they completely forgot about it The food arrived at the table and i didn't get the bottle until I've asked for it. Also quite disappointing that for that prices the staff doesn't fill the water to the guest. I can't justify at all what I paid for. I was expecting I much higher standard of services and food... Sorry, I won't come back

    Had the whole lobster it was delicious (a bit pricey but it was Sunday and I budgeted for it) it was for a birthday, overall excellent venue fantastic view and service. Thanks Lord Ritchard

    We celebour wedding anniversary and it was a perfect lunch. The service was friendly, the food delicious and the venue beautiful on the river. Worth every cent. We'll be back.

    Love, love, love Whalebone...it was my brothers favourite place to eat...So we love to celebrate his life and a birthday or two at Whalebone whenever we are in Port Macquarie... Whalebone never disappoints lovely meals, service, views and cleanliness..We will be back...

    It was a beautiful evening, great staff and wonderful service. I really think these guys have always been good, but they are getting better and better with age from my experience. Stunned Mullet used to be my favourite but Whalebone is less pretentious and way better value.

    Disappointing. Scallops over cooked, fish of the day overcooked and small serving . Orange roughy was our best dish of the night. Seafood chowder was good. Wine was expensive and we had to pay the same price for younger wine not the wine on the wine list that we ordered. Staff were pleasant.

    Our anticipation was high after popping in to have a look the day before. On arrival all good nice ambiance friendly staff, shown to our table ordered drinks.we were told Strawberry daiquiri was a cocktail special, these arrived to quick to be authentic and the rim had been dipped in salt!! Moving on to the food we all ordered Barramundi Pan fried, with greens and thick chips. On arrival my first impression was what a small fish then how little white fish there was and as all ways in oz presented on cold plates, so your food is cold before you even start your meal. Greens were ok nothing to shout about chips nice, however I could get nice chips anywhere. Desserts we had were good but odd elements put together but nice. Overall not what we expected from a premier resteraut in Port Mac. Great location for a bottle of wine.

    The staff are all so lovely. We were spoilt having the delightful Tiffany look after us. We opted for a Lobster fresh from the tank with XO sauce. The flavour was amazing. And although it was XO sauce, it wasn’t hot, just tasty. The venue is beautiful, nice view over the water. Thank you all so much, we will be back next time visiting Port

    Have been wanting to come here for years - so glad we decided to come for lunch. Thank you for letting my little Service Animal come in and sit quietly on her mat. Loved our lunch at Whalebone.

    Service was excellent, but unfortunately the meals were underwhelming and very overpriced. Basic presentation, dessert was the highlight. Overall, disappointed and won’t be rushing back.

    Whalebone was exceptional! We couldn't fault the quality of the food or the attentive service. Every course was cooked perfectly and exceeded our (high) expectations. Totally recommend this restaurant for a wonderful dining experience.

    We had a lovely dinner here. Beautiful spot. Food delicious. Good breaks between entree and main meal. Would highly recommend Whalebone Wharf to anyone who loves seafood.

    Beautiful flavours, perfectly cooked and balanced, served by polite and diligent waitresses. The whole experience was a lovely event; definitely more than just a place to eat- this is Port’s iconic seafood restaurant!
