Water Grill - Dallas
I had the same problem this time as I did the last. The Valet is supposed to send me a text so I can request my car, but never got the text even after reminding the via the hostess 2 times. We typically come by prior to going to the theater, so it would be nice if we could request the car and not have to wait long for it. Can’t imagine why this wouldn’t work two times in a row.
this is the 4th time we have been there this year. great food, great staff. highly recommend...
3rd time here was NOT the charm. Got the happy hour oysters and one was old and stinky. Shrimp cocktail was so-so, and copper river salmon over cooked. Way too expensive for a $47 plate of food. Wife’s Seabass was okay, mashed potatoes good and scallops were average. Do not believe we will be back with so many dining choices in D.
For a seafood restaurant, which is usually quite a healthy choice, I found the offerings to be quite heavy. I ordered the CT version lobster roll, which I've had in CT and enjoyed, and this one had so much butter on it that it was a mess to eat, in addition to being quite unhealthy. The wedge salad was just good, not great. AND it's a very expensive restaurant, so it's just not worth the money. The interior decoration was quite nice, but still not worth it.
Overpriced for the tase of the food we received. Service and bread rolls were great. Otherwise everything else was kinda bland tasting.
Delicious food but extremely pricey!
Fantastic dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Dallas Water Grill. Servers were attentive, good energy vibe without overdoing it, even offered a dessert special. ( Perhaps because we also held our Wedding reception dinner event at the Costa Mesa Water Grill.) My wife loved her Halibut Salad entree, and my Copper River Salmon entree was one of the best I'd ever tasted. Top marks go to the entire staff.
Valet parking was wonderful. The service and staff are very accommodating. The menu is suited for many diets and the food is well prepared. Very comfortable dining and we look forward to returning in the near future.
The Water Grill always seems to exceed my expectations. The food - Chilean sea bass and Dover sole were mouthwatering as advertised. The waiter knew just the right times to intervene in our late lunch to serve the table without interrupting our conversation. The meal was enhanced on the open air patio that provided a nice breeze but plenty of shade. A great dining experience.
Very chi-chi interior and ambience. The blue crab cakes with the vegetable salad is the one to get. In fact, you can almost make a meal of it but we split it since we were both getting main courses. Mine was the Copper salmon(in season) and was cooked to perfection with a bed of risotto underlayment. The risotto was good, marred a little by a bit too much salt. My partner had the fish and chips. The batter was very crispy but again a bit too salty. Since it was my birthday, they gave me a three cookie(double chocolate, oatmeal, and snickerdoodle) with homemade ice-cream. A very nice touch!
Horrible service!!!!! Had a reservation for pre-theatre at 5 pm, showed up at 4:40 pm. Walked in and the restaurant was nearly empty and yet it still took almost 10 minutes to be seated. Then service was so slow and the food came out lukewarm at best. It took almost 2 hours to have dinner. Dinner was not worth the money and especially when you factor in the service...waiting 20 mins for dessert was the last straw. I won't be coming back. This place was great when it first opened and now is another restaurant to never return to. If I could ask for my money back I would.
Seafood was cooked as ordered. Very attentive waitress. Large menu selection.
Best food we have had in a long time! Our ew Favorite and we have pushed over Social
Came into town to celebrate my daughters wedding and brought the family here for pre event dinner. Not disappointed! Food was excellent and service was great. My mother ordered a soft shell crab that cane pan seared but when she said it was crunchy enough they made her a battered and fried crab that wasn’t even on the menu. We will definitely return when we come back Dallas.
We went there for a birthday dinner tonight. The service is great, the staff there is so attentive and helpful. We love this place. The food is wonderful and I am already looking forward to my next trip there.
Loved this place! The food was really good, but could have used a bit more seasoning. I had the charred Alaskan Cod and it was just missing a bit of seasoning. Waitress was outstanding and the drinks were top notch. Came for mother's day and we enjoyed the evening. We all had seafood, but would love to try the steak. A bit pricy-i think the ambiance/location inflates the price a tad.
Wonderful afternoon for Mother's Day! Matt the food is second to none. Love this place; cannot wait to return!
Great place on so many levels. Great food, ambience, service. Great and relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be back.
Awesome service. Octopus was a little chewy and the halibut was dry and salty, but it was a great place for a business lunch and the waitress was great
Everything was absolutely amazing from the service to the meal. We never had to ask for anything. The Halibut was delicious and light. I had the Bread Pudding for dessert which was not too sweet, perfect!
This was our first visit to Water Grill. Never heard of the place until I found it on Open Table. We arrived and the place was empty which worried us a little. The décor is really good and they have a patio that looked very nice. The service was good but the food was just ok. Nothing stood out nor made us want to come back. After dinner we decide that the food was really subpar for the expensive price tag. We will not be back.
From service to food..everything was incredible! We were surprised at the fact that it seemingly wasn’t busy AT ALL...given the amazing dining experience that we had...but all the more better for a nice dinner where my wife and I could talk.
Definitely a great place to try!
Oysters were awesome! The server Laurie was very well informed and so friendly and accommodating. Delicious hand crafted cocktails too:)
My server and the team were amazing. I made my reservation late so I appreciate how nice everyone was. I didn't tell anyone I was celebrating my birthday so it was amazing feeling special even when the staff was busy with the large party next to us. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you!
It was overall a terrible experience. Our reservations were at 6pm on a Sunday. All of this is said with a caveat that the restaurant was not busy at all. There were maybe 4 tables occupied when my party arrived. We were seated and after a couple of minutes, a server said he was going to give us water while they figure out who our server is. We get water and wait. A different server stops by and asks if there's anything else we'd like to drink besides water or if we'd like an appetizer while they still try to figure out who our server is. Eventually our main server makes his introductions and takes our entree order, at 6:30pm. Our food didn't arrive at our table until 7:15pm. By this time, the diners in the main area have already left, so there isn't exactly a queue in the kitchen. I ordered the halibut since it's halibut season and for $42, I received at best a 6oz piece of fish. My entire party paid over $200 for 3 people. Even with appetizers and ordering extra sides, we still left hungry. Such a shame, the patio area was gorgeous with a see through fireplaces and plenty of relaxed and cushy seating.
I would recommend Water Grill if someone wants high end seafood place. The food was a tad pricey but it was amazing. We all had drinks, they all were strong but tasty. We had the oyster sampler and crab cakes to start, both were great choices. I had the halibut, it was a smart move. I tried some of my friends cod and sea bass. The sea bass was so good. Unfortunately, our service was ok. Even though the restaurant specialized in seafood, I did not like the fact the waitress making a verbal gasp when my girlfriend ordered the cheeseburger (she is not a huge seafood person but I wanted to try this place out). Also, the waitress also was pretty insistent there would be an extra charge to substitute the fries for mash potatoes instead of going back to the manager and making the requesting (spoiler, they didn't charge extra $8 on $330 bill including the $50 tip for 4). Outside of those two events, the service was fine. The host and rest of the staff was very friendly. She even went outside to take a picture for us. The Decor was very nice.
Very nice place. Food was delicious and service was perfect! We’ll definitely be back!
Great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a good meal.
Had a great time with a group of five. Food and service were great. only downside - there was an extremely loud and large group near us, so at times it was hard to hear.
We had an anniversary dinner at Water Grill, Dallas and we couldn’t have been happier with the food or the experience. The waitress (Victoria) was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the food and helpful with pairings. The manager came by to check on us twice and even brought by one of their chef specialties to show us. The atmosphere was quiet and the ambience was very eclectic with great decorations of fishing and seafaring. The food was excellent. We started with King Crab Nuggets and Crab Cake appetizers. I had the Red Snapper Escabeche and my wife had the Chilean Sea Bass. We both agreed it was some of the beat prepared fish we have ever had and seafood is our favorite fare. We had the mac and cheese and brussel sprouts for sides, both of which were very well prepared, and finished off with a triple-cookie ala mode desert. The bartender mixed and excellent Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned for me and my wife regaled him for his rendition of a Lemon Drop Martini. We will definitely be returning to Water Grill and do should you.
The Black Cod is unbelievable! I would highly recommend the Water Grill and anything on the menu!
Delicious food and attentive staff. Overall a great experience for those looking to indulge a bit.
Friday night dinner. Location was not crowded at all, able to get seated right away. Waiter was attentive, did not try to upsell on the wine order. Food was great, fish is easy to message you but order was cooked very well. Generous portions.
Nice place. Nice ambiance and good service. Good drinks. However, the food was OK. Good place for seafood and steak.
We wanted to dine at a nice place for a quiet birthday dinner and decided to try Water Grill. The Crab Cakes and mussels were to die for. I can't say enough good things about the staff here. They really made all the difference and ensured a great dining experience. Our first time dining here and it certainly will not be our last. The staff, service, and dining area were beyond excellent. Kudos to Milind, our waiter whom was very knowledgable with the menu and provided thoughtful service throughout. They even surprised us with a birthday dessert. Candy and another manager took the time to drop by for introductions to make sure we enjoyed the food. Truly professional.
Great experience. First time at restaurant. Will definitely be back. Great service and food.
Great food, attentive service & great ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
