   We went to Varia to have great good and listen to Frank Sings Frank! We did just that - fantastic food, great drinks, top notch service, and Frank was so good. Our server even closed us out after dinner and moved us to be near the piano and brought our dessert to us there! Above and beyond!

   Overall pleasant, positive experience. Menu is not exciting, but most things are well executed- my eggplant was good. Service was attentive and friendly. Some nice choices on the wine list.

    Kaylee was our server and she was outstanding. She was attentive and ensured we enjoyed our stay. The food was very good and the live music was a nice added bonus. I would certainly be back next time visiting Norfolk.

    Food and ambiance were fabulous. Our seating arrangements left much to be desired, though. Despite the majority of the main seating area being empty, my partner and I were seated near the hostesses in some rather uncomfortable chairs. Other than that, everything was great.

    For ladies night out we picked Varia for a Happy Hour Dinner. There were 3 of us so we ordered all the appetizers on the happy hour menu and shared them. Each one was amazing and beautifully presented. Wines were $4 a glass- need I say that contributed to the mood for the night. Our server, Matt was so helpful and accommodating with information on what we were ordering. I love this place!

    Reese our waiter was exceptional, very pleasant and professional and attentive. We thought the food was very very good with just a few comments the bread that is served is plated so beautiful, but we didn’t care for the bread. It was very dense, and seemed over baked. Our pasta dishes were very good but one of the appetizers the fried raviolis were a little over cooked. the atmosphere is beautiful. We were hoping for an elevated cannoli! Maybe next time!

    Grant was a very knowledgeable honest and attentive waiter. The appetizer is listed as carmelized pears- skip it- it was never carmelized and is served cold. Meatballs we’re good as was the gnocchi, skip the gelato, it was more frozen than creamy and seemed more like sorbet

    Outstanding in all ways. Reece was a terrific. Present, attentive but not in our space. Food seems simple: pasta and pizza but the chef elevated it to fascinating levels. Definitely a repeater!

    Harrison was our Waiter and was excellent! Great ambiance. We had the earliest Easter Sunday dinner reservation which worked out perfectly. Ordered the 3 course pre-select menu. Wife and I both had the salmon but different appetizer and dessert. We were both very pleased and plan on returning regularly.

    Probably one of the most stunning hotels I've ever been in. The restaurant was not only clean, but it was visually outstanding with a "neo art deco" flare to it. My server, whose name was, Harrison (I do believe ) was helpful and efficient. The food on the other hand could have been better. My charcuterie board which priced out at $38 was more like a charcuterie bowl , which was misleading. The food tasted fine, I just think that the portions were weak and the food didn't fit the description on the menu. But overall it was a fine time. Note that parties over six will be charged a 20% gratuity to the bill. Which, nicely, my server let me know upon receiving the bill.

    We had a wonderful experience celebrating my parent's 53rd anniversary. We arrived for our reservation and Rebekah had our table was ready and waiting. Grant was our server and did a wonderful job. He was very attentive to our needs and surprised us with a Champagne Toast for the Special Occasion. Manager Kaylin, stopped by the table as well to wish them a Happy Anniversary. This was such a good time for our family and my parents look forward to coming back again soon.

    We loved the gran pano with live music—My Chicken Parmesan was terrific and my husband loved his sirloin. Enjoyed the cheesecake dessert. Kaylee was super personable and friendly. We had a great evening and will definitely return!

    I made reservations recently for Varia at 6 pm to watch the performer, Frank, sings Frank. We arrived shortly before our reservation time, and we were seated promptly. Soon after we were seated, the waiter approached our table to take our drink order. My wife ordered a lovely Pinot Noir, and I had sparkling water. We next ordered appetizers consisting of the Chopped Salad and a Focaccia Bread. The salad came out first, and since we told them we would share it, they were kind enough to split it for us on individual plates, a nice touch. The salad arrived first, and it was excellent. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The Focaccia Bread came out shortly after we finished our salads, almost like a conductor in the orchestra; it was noticed and appreciated. The Focaccia Bread was thicker than I am used to, but it was delicious. The Burrata was also fresh, velvety, and very good. We enjoyed this dish very much. For dinner, My wife had the Short Rib served over pasta. This was a visually appealing dish, but it was also delicious. She gave me a taste, and I enjoyed it very much. I had the Grilled Pork Chop served with fingerling potatoes and broccolini. This dish should come with a warning label. It is very spicy, but I loved every bite of it. However, it is most definitely, not for the faint of heart. The show was incredible, and we enjoyed our evening very much. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant.

    For a hotel restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and the food. On the other hand, if it wasn't in a hotel, I would say the food was hit and miss. Not bad, but not outstanding.
