The Woodside Doune did not have our reservation because they had stopped using the Open Table App shortly after I had made the booking. However Open Table continued to show my booking as confirmed and had sent an email to ask how our experience was! The staff at Woodside was very helpful and was able to find us a table at one of their other restaurants The Allan Park in Stirling. Always follow up your booking with a phone call if you’re using this App.

Ate here twice and enjoyed both meals, The Woodside is a nice restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and excellent service.

Breakfast for 6 adults at the woodside inn at Doune. Really lovely experience. We were seated at a large round table at the window. Tea and coffee served then breakfast. Full Scottish breakfasts for all 6. Very tasty and served on warmed plates. More tea and coffee followed. All in all a lovely morning spent with good food, good friends and lots of chat. It wasn't busy, but it was warm and cosy on a very cold morning.

Starters and desserts were fine. Mains were poor. Christmas dinner was a mix of frozen vegetables and processed turkey. Very disappointing experience all round.

We visited for a family lunch during the festive season, which was fairly enjoyable. Huge let down caused by the extremely slow service caused, I assume. by lack of staff. We were seated for over an hour and had only been served our starters. Food was overall good, with the exception of the fish finger sandwich. The batter was greasy and left an unpleasant aftertaste. Once our mains were finished, no-one came to clear our plates. We were let staring at our dirty plates until we eventually flagged down a member of staff. We requested menus for pudding, however as we were ignored, we had to approach the bar to pay our bill as we had run out of time, and had to leave after 3 hours. To be fair, we requested a portion of cake to takeaway, and we were provided with this without charge.

Last minute decision to book an overnight and dinner weekend before Christmas. Festive menu was £45 ph with glass if fizz included. Great value. Service was excellent and food lovely with nice festive atmosphere.
