   For 200 bucks for a dinner for two I would expect the quality of the food to be much better. The ambiance of the restaurant makes up slightly, but feeling sick the rest of the evening into the next day was poor consolation.

    Good ambiance & service. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were good. Ribeye steak and fingerling potatoes had almost zero flavor & ribeye was extremely chewy. It was $260 for the 2 of us (ordered a $70 bite of wine). Bottom line, there are better restaurants in Richmond for that price point.

    We enjoyed a 43rd anniversary dinner during our two day Richmond celebration at The Tobacco Company! The prime rib was delicious. Our waiter, Terrance, was the best, so friendly, and very attentive. A great place to celebrate or just go!

    Absolutely perfect. I don’t think I’ve witnessed service like that in my life. This place runs like a well oiled machine. Food was fantastic as well. I recommend you cap off an amazing meal with the Pecan Pie

    This was our 2nd visit to the TC. The food was outstanding as was the service. We brought my sister for her first visit. She has traveled the world dining in many restaurants and when she tasted your crab cakes she pronounced them “the best she’s ever had”. Keep up the excellent work. We will be seeing you again.

    The stuffed mushrooms were great! However the blackened catfish was not good nor was the cornbread. The sausage was ok but pretty spicy the squash and zucchini was well prepared. Not sure about the thought process of this entree but I would not order it again. The wine selection was very nice and service was exceptional!

    The escargot was completely plain and served on hard puff pastry unlike menu description. All 3 ribeyes were so fatty/grizzly that 70-80% was inedible and they were $46. Our first visit they were good. We were celebrating 2 high school graduations so it was very disappointing.

    Excellent experience on a Friday night, had to keep pushing our res out due to getting held up at wrestling tournament. Totally worth it! Best filet all three of us have had in VA in a long time. Highly recommend the Oscar preparation. I don’t get wound up about mashed potatoes but theirs are amazing. Tuna and burrata apps, bread service were perfect starters. Wine list is extensive. Service was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable. We will make a point to return soon, and we live 1.5 hours away.

    Lovely atmosphere and always enjoy white table service. It was a somewhat awkward blend of casual and luxe dining, a bit smaller restaurant than I expected for a warehouse, but cozy, eclectic, and well appointed decor. We were seated on the second floor balcony with a lovely view, but near where servers hovered the edge of the kitchen access which felt a bit strange. Our server was friendly and very attentive at first, almost conversing a bit overboard even though we welcomed the interaction, but as he got other tables we felt neglected on multiple occasions leaving other servers to clear our empty plates and to bring our desert menu on request. We then waited another 15 mins after our dessert to just close out our ticket and were there for 2 full hours for our meal, making us rather late for picking up our children. We had no recognition of our wedding anniversary despite making the reservation with notes 3 months in advance and confirming on the phone the same day of our reservation. It could have easily been a 5 star experience, but it just felt a bit disappointing in the end. The menu was to our taste with multiple options we knew we would enjoy and we were pleased with our meals—shrimp cocktail appetizer, prime rib and meatloaf entrees, and the pecan pie with ice cream was Devine.

    The restaurant is an old building where tobacco was hung to dry. Lots of character from the brick and high ceiling, as well as the posh decor. Service was outstanding. The prime rib was very good and portions of everything were generous. Enjoyed our evening.

    When I called to add a person, the young lady gave me a hard time and put me on hold for 15 minutes so I called back an got someone else. Wasn’t told making reservation menu was limited for Mother’s Day and prices were higher. Didn’t find out till we got menus and to late. Also wasn’t told they would add 20% tip on bill. Which also included tip for alcohol which was over $100. Not sure if I will go back

    I had dined there in the past however it was my guest first time dining at the Tobacco Company, and they were extremely pleased. Chloe was our server and she was very pleasant and a joy to have her wait on us.

    Fantastic! Our reservations were late due to the timing of my daughter's graduation and therefore the music started while we were about halfway in. We were upstairs so it was not overwhelming, but it was a bit loud. Nevertheless, a really great time all around.

    We were not told there would be a band playing so our family gathering, which included family members from out of state, could not hear each other. Our expectations of enjoying our company and conversations were overshadowed by good, but WAY too loud music. We were all a little disappointed in the experience and would likely not plan another visit. Food was adequate.

    Ever the popular place, and overall a positive experience. I asked our server to have the chef slightly undercook the pork chop. I am on a reduced salt diet and asked her also to have the salt held. The pork chop was cooked very well, so it was a bit tough. The salt level kept me up drinking water all night. Others in our party had a better experience. They need to honor the requests of their patrons.

    Our dining experience was absolutely amazing. While we ran a little late with our reservation, the hosts were more than accommodating and made everything stress free. Of course the food was amazing, and the service was spectacular. It was my girlfriend’s birthday, and they even gave us a complimentary desert. The live music performance truly made the environment echo with purpose. All in all, it was great. I will always come back for meaningful events.

    Took 15 minutes at our table before a server finally greeted us. Ordered steak medium but it came out well done. Server never asked if steak was cooked correctly which is unacceptable when paying $50 for a steak. Server was friendly and professional but it took over an 1.5 hours to complete meal (table of 2) due to long waits between server visits to the table. Completely skipped dessert because I was tired of having to sit and wait at the table until the server finally decided to come back with the dessert menu. The decor here is worth seeing (ride the elevator!) but I suggest going for a drink only and skipping a full meal. At this price point, it was a disappointment. I have had far better at other establishments. Also worth noting is it is loud. It is not a romantic vibe. Difficult to hear your dining partner talking. Fried oysters ($18) were delicious, 8oz filet ($50) was very overcooked, ribeye ($46) was perfect. Old Fashioned was $15.50...Server asked me 3 different times if I wanted wine. It became obnoxious. I should't have to keep saying no thank you to alcohol.

    My Husband & I dined at The Tobacco Company for his 61st Birthday. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The ambience was amazing, perfect for a romantic celebratory birthday meal. The filet mignon, creamy mash potatoes, & asparagus were cooked to perfection. Excellent atmosphere, staff, & food.

    We cannot rave enough about The Tobacco House! From the moment we stepped through the door we were warmly & graciously greeted! It’s the ultimate dining experience from start to finish, not to mention the ambiance & decor! The hostess, manager & our server, Alex, were exceptional! The food…well let us tell you…the best martinis, crabmeat stuffed mushrooms, stuffed baked potato, crabcakes & pork chop! The place was rocking but every staff member seemed,cool, calm & collected & not missing a beat! 💯❤️🍴(We ate there 400 miles into our trip south & again going home & it was exactly the same……wonderful!)
