Welcome to the Three Crowns, a beautiful, part-thatched 5-star inn set in the heart of the pretty Dartmoor town of Chagford.

Behind its imposing granite facade, the Three Crowns is a magical mix of 13th century features and contemporary comfort and style. From beamed ceiling and huge inglenook fireplaces, to a glass atrium and stunning courtyard garden, the Three Crowns is a delightful place to enjoy great food and a comfortable stay.

We offer a delicious menu featuring fresh, local seasonal produce, cooked to order by our talented team. We also offer an extensive wine list and a great selection of soft drinks. We have a policy of ‘keeping it local’ and use local ingredients in our dishes and stock local wines and juices. You need to book in advance. Very welcoming pub with an extensive menu and daily specials. We had steak and ale pie which was cooked to order and the seafood platter for one. Husband couldn’t eat all the plentiful platter so they gave him the rest to take home. All washed down with Mena Dhu stout. would highly recommend

First time of visiting and we had a table for two in the main bar which was nice and cosy. We could not fault the service and the food was excellent. Will definitely return.

The welcome from the dark haired chap, apparently Deputy Manager was about as welcoming as finding a slug in your salad. Honestly couldn't really be bothered, more interested in topping up his log fire and very friendly with any locals. We were all baffled and so close to walking out. The ladies who took our orders and brought our food on the other hand were great and very efficient. The seafood platter was superb as was our daughters lunch time choice. Said chap attitude chap walked past our table of empty plates several times and obviously beneath him to clear. In truth, first impressions are everything, this was for my wife's 50th birthday as we put on the booking instructions. Didn't want a fuss at all but this chap almost, almost ruined our day, I don't think hospitality is for him, perhaps lone working of some sorts? You can't train people to be people persons. The polite version edited!

We had a fantastic evening with two friends for my husband's birthday meal at the 'Three Crowns' in Chagford We all had different main courses and each meal was fabulous. The deserts and coffee were also very good especially the pear frangipane. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxing. We will be back and we will recommend to all our friends and family. Thank you from four very happy customers 😊

Having been the the 3 crowns many times, we are used to the great food and service. This particular visit was made even more enjoyable by Rose, the lovely member of staff that looked after us all evening. The food was perfect and we always enjoy the ambiance of the bar to eat. Sunday lunch. Highlight was the unusual range of well presented and well cooked vegetables. So often you get more meat than you would normally eat in a week and hardly any veg. Not the case here. The Guinea fowl was excellent the beef had a tendency to put up some resistance. The chocolate moose was sublime. Around £70 for two including tip and one Prosecco.
