Great Sunday brunch. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very reminiscent of their New York locations. The complementary brunch cocktail with select orders is a very nice touch. DC could use more establishments that take a page from New York dining establishments like the Smith.

We had a wonderful breakfast at the Smith. There was a good level of variety on the menu and a Sunday brunch deal which was good value. The ambience was nice and relaxed and the food itself was delicious (we had the French toast and the eggs Benedict). We were particularly impressed by the service from our server Jay, who was friendly and attentive, and even made some recommendations for things to do in the local area - it really made this a standout dining experience of our time in Washington DC. We couldn't believe that The Smith hadn't come up in our search of recommended restaurants locally, we just came across it walking around! We are planning to return for dinner at a later point in our trip.

We were a big group with reservations for 30 at four different tables, and when 1/4 of the group cancelled because of inclement weather, they couldn’t have been nicer or more flexible. Food was good and reasonably priced.

Server was seriously amazing and food was great! We had a gluten free diner with us and they said the gluten free pasta was excellent. Server also took great care to make sure the meal was actually gluten free which was thoughtful and awesome. Highly recommend.

Some call it energetic, I call it loud. The food was great. The service was okay. The atmosphere was extremely loud. I could not imagine being on a date in this restaurant, but I could imaging a small office gathering.

The Smith is a beautiful restaurant. Portions were ample, and the ravioli was delicious. I especially enjoyed the lemonade with extra citrus flavor. The waitress was very attentive. The field greens portion was very generous. Although it was lunch time and busy the noise level was very low. I look forward to my next visit.

The restaurant was very warm. I am always cold and still found it almost intolerably warm. The food was good. Our waitress was not attentive. She seemed very rehearsed and did not seem to care about our experience.

Came on a Sunday around 6:30 and didn't need a reservation (although I had one). Ordered a burger, which was massive - almost too big to comfortably eat. The flavor was great and it was cooked perfectly though, although the bun was a bit greasy/buttery - not sure if it was purposeful. The fries were ok, but nothing to write home about. They needed some kind of seasoning, there was absolutely nothing on them. I added a lot of salt and pepper, which helped, but they still weren't great. There were a lot of cocktails that looked amazing, but I couldn't justify $17 for a drink.

The Smith is one of my go to’s for an easy midweek lunch or a weekend dinner. I know I’m always gonna leave satisfied. The drinks are always perfectly crafted the food is super consistent and I honestly haven’t had one bad thing on the menu.

We really liked the space and deeply appreciated the fact that there wasn't loud music blaring, which is a rarity in DC. That's the kind of thing that will make us come back. We ordered a hamburger & fries and the caesar salad with skirt steak. Drinks were a Diet Coke and an Arnold Palmer. Food was tasty, but bill came out to $75 before tip, which is way too expensive for a salad, burger and 2 non-alcoholic beverages. I understand inflation, etc., but it is daunting to get a bill that high for so little and zero alcohol or appetizers. Server was friendly and everything was correct. However, once the food was delivered, he disappeared for the entire duration of the meal. Never once checked on us during the meal or asked us if we needed anything. We wanted additional beverages. By the time he came to our table again, it was to drop off the check, which we didn't even ask for. We would have appreciated someone checking on us soon after we started the meal, and later asking us if we were ready for the check instead of just bringing it. We felt rushed out and like once we had our food, we didn't matter anymore. We would go back to try it again. Food and ambience were good. But service needs better training.

The hard surfaces made conversation difficult. The waiter was overbearing and kept asking if everything was okay, even before we took one bite. He then dropped the bill on us halfway through lunch. The caesar salad with salmon was nothing to write home about, and not worth $35 with tip.
