The Potting Shed is a place to meet, eat, drink, relax and chat your day and night away – where hanging plants, terracotta pots and timber beams meet brass, brick and iron. Where you can plant yourself down on the swing seat, bench or at the bar and feel like you are on your family’s porch. It’s a lively place where you can hoe into fresh, locally harvested produce, delivered by our shed-hands.     Our server Kacie was lovely. The food is average at best and quite expensive for what it is. The place is extremely noisy which I guess can’t be helped but is a problem. Without all the cool different installations we’d probably not go back.

    The service staff are amazing. Friendly, kind, considerate. The food, however, has deteriorated. I ordered the swordfish and it could have been chicken. It was dry and tasteless. It has kept the high prices but the quality has dropped. Quite disappointing.

    Food was not good. I had the seafood pasta and there was barely any seafood -4 pipes, 1 prawns cut into 4 and two thinly sliced squid. It was all pasta! Food is over priced. Sourdough was stale. No napkins or cutlery were provided until asked multiple times.

    You feel like a cookie cutter, overpriced mass produced food. No room to move. $15 for chocolate milk, the venue is beautiful very noisy. The bathrooms were dirty but that’s due to the large numbers having to use them.

    Super enjoyable experience. Likely the only thing to be wary of is the space given between tables for passage of staff and customers through the venue. Otherwise staff and food were lovely, we were surprised (and delighted) by the addition of live music on the night we went...really wonderful singer and guitarist, and not too loud. A wonderful addition to the general ambiance that is always so nice! Kids love the food, easy to find something from either the main menu or the kids menu. The Potting Shed and The Grounds do a lovely job catering to families with kids when I know that is not always the easiest! (they make it look easy)! Check out the seasonal display whilst you are at The Potting Shed, and maybe you'll also be lucky enough to have photos with Santa Clause in the beautiful setting they have created in the garden.

    Some food that we ordered was bland and too overpriced. Some ingredients doesn't taste fresh either. Salad has too much dressing to my liking. Food came out so late, we waited more than 30 mins. Not too happy about my experience there

    We had a booking and the hostess was very helpful with getting us in and settled quickly. The restaurant was busy, but it didn't seem overly crazy. It took a little while to get organised with drinks and get ordered. We ordered 3 entrees and 5 mains and they asked about whether we wanted them alltogether. We said yes, however only the entrees came. After the entrees we waited a good 40 mins for our mains. When we asked, they said they don't get ordered until after we have the entrees. We had people coming in long after us and getting their meals. The server was friendly, but not overly helpful. We understand it was busy, but it didn't seem too busy that everyone around us were getting their meals much quicker than us. Overall the entrees were lovely, and the mains were nice but not necessarily worth the price. We enjoyed our night but will not be rushing back.

    Hi Belinda, Thank you for your constructive feedback - a great tool for us in ever-evolving our service standards. I am so sorry that you experienced any food delays and I know it can seem strange when surrounding tables receive food quicker - this is only due to varying cook/prep and dispense times for dishes ordered and totally depends on the volume of orders in each of the sections of the kitchen (salads quicker for example than mains that are cooked in the fish/grill section) and the size of the party dining (a table of 2 more likely to receive food quicker than a table of 6). I hope that offers some kind of explanation but don't think me dismissive of your feedback - I will certainly use this as a a tool for improvements our side!     Very few gluten free options. Why do so many foods have to have regular flour. Why not use corn flour so we can all enjoy. Ie mussels.

More than 50% of our menu is Gluten free or can be made GF on request. We have made considerable efforts to mark all allergens on our menus including indicating dishes that can be modified to suit dietary needs.     They forgot to cook my meal and until I finally got a hold of a waitress all our table had finished eating anyways. Manager said we would get a gift voucher for the next visit. That didn't happen either!

    We enjoyed everything! The only negative was the wait /queue to be seated considering we had a booking. It seemed chaotic and spoiled the fun vibe to start with.

    We visited over the weekend, it was packed but the restaurant didn’t feel cramped. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was great and overall ambience was divine. Definitely recommend this if you’d like a beautiful place for dates, catch ups and maybe a milestone celebration!

    Believe the hype The potting shed is tucked away from gawkers who come to explore the beautiful grounds, bookings would be a must here. The service is outstanding, the wait staff are lovely and sweet and helpful. We went on a busy Saturday close to Xmas and it was packed. I was supprised how quickly our food came: the kids meal arrived almost immediately ( requested, to appease a cranky toddler). The greenery is lush and the atmosphere is lovely. Packed but plenty of table space. The menu is vast and the food is fit to share. Recommend a bunch of share plates here. A very well oiled machine, with a macaw bird hidden away: i took my toddler for frequent strolls and we couldn't believe our eyes. I had wanted to come here for ages and was really impressed, definitely worth the wait and we'll be back for sure. I LOVED that there were no cursed barcodes and scrolling phones to order: just well staffed, welcoming and attentive service. So rare

    Amazing space to sit and sip a cocktail. Will always love the concept of this amazing dining experience. I have been many times before and this time I booked for a celebration dinner. I was, as always, delighted with the ambiance and the drink presentation. The service was adequate, but not great, I felt we were always looking for our server and had to ask other staff for the items we wanted. The server did not know the items on the menu very well, and the hosts up front were not very welcoming, instead guarding the door as if we were all going to storm in, there was not a lot of communication so it was a slow entering procedure. I would say the menu was exciting and the plating amazing, but I would stick to the creative items on the menu. Our table had a steak and the swordfish, both were under whelming. The lamb was great as was the burger and the small plates and entrees.

    The ambience at the Potting Shed is a 10/10. Cab be a big loud and cramp but I still had a good experience. The food was good. I had the wagyu and it was alright. A little tough but we’ll seasoned. The garlic anchovy beans that came with it was a little bland and didn’t really taste like garlic or anchovies.

    Squid entree was WAY overcooked - and our waiter did not know that 'vegan' included 'dairy-free'. The rest of the food and experience was out of this world though. Will be back :-)

    Was disappointed with my food. I ordered a burger. It come out look lovely well presented. I cut it in half to heat. The meat was raw. I sent it back they brought me out a fresh one. The waitress said do you like it well done. I thought that’s only asked for a steak. Not a burger. 😂My friend had the fish & chips, which she said it was lovely. We ordered sparkling water. We had to remind the waitress a 2nd time to bring it out. A bit disappointing.

    Dined with my best friend, got 2 different pastas and a dessert to share. Seafood pasta was too salty, shroom pasta too hard and way too buttery. Also quite bland in flavour. The dessert was okay but a bit heavy. Then we asked a young gentleman to bring us our bill. On the way to the till, he stopped at a table and... just kept standing there chatting with customers. It was taking him a while so we got up and went to the till at the entrance, but it was abandoned. We waited there - nothing. We then walked to the bar till (the guy was still chatting at the table). A few staffs at the bar but no one asked if we needed help. We were looking around trying to find someone who would help us pay for the food. Eventually, a female showed up and helped us with the bill, but this whole process of finding our bill and paying for it took WAY LONGER than it should have. As we were leaving, the gentleman was still chatting with other customers at their table. They also add a surcharge on ALL cards, including EFTPOS, which is petty for any business.

    First day of a new menu, but you wouldn’t have known if the staff hadn’t mentioned it. Beautiful food and excellent service. Very busy due to christmas “gingerbread lane”installation and staff were managing it very well.

    Cocktail sold out wagyu rump sold out Bearnaise sauce sold out The replacement steak poor quality/chewy and definitely not Wagyu. They replaced the Bearnaise with gravy without checking with us first and it tasted like instant runny dishwater. Our waitress was lovely but overall food quality very poor.

    My guests and I had a fabulous dining experience at The Grounds on Saturday. The checking in process was met with grace and courtesy. After a delicious meal we took a delightful stroll through the Christmas display, which I might add was glorious! So much fun and laughter to be had walking through. Our Santa photo experience was the best, again such a fun experience. Thank you to the Grounds for and outstanding day, lunch and lots of fun! Cheers to many more!

    I used to come here very often. This time I didn’t enjoy it as before. Food was terrible for the price I paid. The shovel that served the beef burger looked very dirty. The choice of menu is very limited.

    Went here for a birthday dinner with the girls. The potting Shed has a lovely lush garden space with a yummy menu. Not a lot for non meat eaters, but we managed and the cocktails and service were fabulous. The gorgeous Christmas display in The Grounds was a bonus and an excellent photo opportunity. The perfect spot for a summer get together.
