The Pinkneys Arms is just very very good! Friendly staff, great atmosphere and fab food, what more could you want!
Lovely meal and service! Thanks
Went for mum and dads anniversary. We had been before for a Sunday roast and loved it. We were disappointed by the 1 and a half slices of roast beef for £20. Also the roast potatoes weren’t as good as before, added lots of salt to them. The lamb portion was a bit better but for the price the 2 thinly sliced prices of roasted carrot and parsnip you get, I would expect a bigger portion.
The service was great though and the staff are extremely welcome.
Just moved to the area
Great food and service So glad to have it as my new local
James and Tom were great hosts
Could not find any fault
Social distancing and all other safety measures put in place were Spot on
Will be back very soon
We had a really lovely evening. The pizza is great and the staff very friendly.
Great first night out after lockdown. Great evening, distanced but relaxed. Fab beer, amazing pizza.
Our first outing post lockdown and it did not disappoint 🤩 food excellent as we remembered it, staff was amazing and attentive without being overbearing. Hygiene was top priority and social distancing rules were adhered to, bathrooms were sparkling clean. It just felt safe. As always, we will be back :-)
Perfect ending to a weekend trail walk at nearby Pinkneys Green. Every item was well prepared and cooked. Pub was airy and spacious enough that social distancing is not an issue. Thanks everyone
Really lovely place - very friendly staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Even with all the restrictions in place due to Covid-19, they managed to maintain a buzzy atmosphere and we had a great time. Thanks guys!
The best pub and roast in town! We had a great early Mother’s Day with the family and the food was exceptional as always.
Definitely the best Sunday Roast, in the area.
Went for Saturday lunch, food and wine very good, went into the bar afterwards for more drinks, very nice but noisy small children was a bit off putting. Would go back definitely but maybe not Saturday afternoon.
A very warm welcome and helpful menu suggestions. Wines and food excellent and even offered to change the main course ingredients as it was repeating the starter choice I had selected! We have tried to visit before but parking can be tricky, but well worth it when you experience it!
Amazing delicious Sunday lunch, thank you wonderful Pinkneys arms! Wonderful service, and the best food around. Not to be missed.
Amazing as always!!
Great food and service at The Pinkneys Arms. Would definitely recommend it. Hoping to make a return visit soon.
First time at The Pinkneys Arms and plan to return.
A beautiful delayed valentines evening. Thanks to Jame, Holly, Tom and the team for another great evening
Really great place! Nice cosy atmosphere. Menu was interesting. Stand out flavours came from the Mushrooms on Sourdough, Fish Pie and crumble. Wow! Nice wine, and great service too. Would highly recommend.
Great evening for valentines, had the soup and beetroot for starters both were lovely, mains burgers really well cooked tender and side of hand made onion rings and hand made fries were great, lots of seafood on the menu. Great all round
This was our 4th time and it was great each time. I like the changing menu although I was stuck with roast on Sunday which is not my favourite. However, I would choose that roast again and again and again- delicious!
We had a nice meal and the service and atmosphere was good, would go back again and would recommend to anyone.
Great food, great service, we consistently have an excellent experience. The Sunday roast is perfection!
Lovely welcome from the landlord on coming through the door to a very busy pub. Great atmosphere, lovely seating area and tables. Great service and staff are wonderful. Thanks for Tom and Holly for taking care of us. Food was fabulous so glad we popped in for dinner. Definitely be back regularly. Highly recommend.
Great food and location! Lovely place.
The only disappointing thing was the waitress, she was quite rude and blunt and didn’t really act like she wanted to help.
The food & service was excellent.
We were in the barn which was quiet but not an issue as we could all talk comfortably, however the bar atmosphere was better. We were also sat at a 2 tier table which was slightly weird especially as other tables were free (we didn't ask to move as we had been told that it was busy, but it wasn't, and i'm sure if we had asked we could have)
Recommend the the roast but all dishes were excellent.
Service very good, surroundings very pleasant. Food could have been hotter on arrival at table but overall a lovely time. Already booked again
Delicious menu with fresh local ingredients and excellent friendly service. A local fav for us!
Amazing food and service, never had a bad meal here
We What tucked around the corner on a table for tea unfortunately it was very cold where we were sitting and my friend had to wear a coat.
The food was fine and the service good
I do like this pub. Helpful, friendly staff and excellent food. Extra busy due to Xmas, affecting service a bit and very noisy, but still enjoyed it very much. Will definitely go back soon!
Excellent food, but quite a small venue. We were sat next to a table of eight which did not make for an intimate dinner for two. Probably best experienced in the summer.
Excellent pub and food, with really good service also. Lovely garden also. Worth a visit
Our first visit to this pub as a group of four where we were told that our table was in the Barn which was outside the pub in their garden area. Our food was lukewarm because it was carried along the path uncovered outside in the garden leading to the separate building - the Barn. It was very noisy as there were two large tables in the same room and the staff were not very attentive to us. Would not repeat the visit unless we had a table in the main pub area.
Our first visit to this pub, found at random by reading reviews etc. and it was a delight. Wonderful setting, with a contemporary but traditional decor, and a nice roaring fire in the corner. We were in the main pub, not the barn, but I did have a look and that also looked fab. Huge garden too!
Food was really good value, we had the Sunday menu and my roast sirloin beef was lovely and rare (as I had requested, and very unusual for a large joint so was really impressed, especially as they served a medium for others who asked for it), and amazing Yorkshire and roasted potatoes. All for £17!
The mushrooms on toast starter was also fabulous, and again I don't say that often!
The service was brilliant, very attentive, friendly and professional. To top it off, they also have a great selection of ales and beers, even "Good Old Boy" which I like a lot.
Overall, I was so impressed I felt compelled to write this review, so I recommend it highly!
The overall ambience is fantastic, the staff are friendly and very welcoming. Everyone in the bar and dining were having a lovely time and it felt very jolly. The beer and prosseco options were excellent and the wine was okay (would prefer a couple better Shiraz options). The bartender was outstanding and the service outstanding.
The food was okay - my scallops almost undercooked and great quality but lacked seasoning/taste, my fish, potatoes and veg again good quality produce but lacking in flavour and completely swimming in butter! The cheesecake okay and saved by the passion fruit coulee. The quality of produce very good but the taste/seasoning really lets this place down especially because it has a fantastic vibe and a wonderful locals feel. Perhaps they are trying to be too fancy and need to go back to basics with the food and offer quality tasty gastro pub food, ie delicious shepherds pie, apple crumble, etc.
We're always made very welcome and the food is great!
Top quality food & service at a reasonable price. Highly recommend giving this excellent establishment a visit
Friendly team, great food and a nice atmosphere. We went for a Sunday roast and were not disappointed. We will definitely be coming again
Excellent Sunday lunch roast with the family. Roasts were delicious. Kids roasts at £12 each felt a bit expensive. We sat in the barn which was very cosy
