   I know I booked an inside table but we were told only the patio was available - it wasn’t bad but not the atmosphere we wanted. Food was very good but the service was poor - we had to ask for water refills multiple times and had to ask for silverware and napkins.

   We choose Overpass Merchant for our valentines celebration and was disappointed. We’ve visited for brunch before, but this visit was not on the same level. No one actually greeted us when we walked in the door, and the hostess didn’t make eye contact with us for a bit. I don’t know if they were over booked after the comment on the number of reservations for that time. Our food was ok, definitely not the claim on the menu or as good our first visit. The Resturant was out of cheese curds, which was what we wanted as our starter. The food was warm when it made it to the table, not hot. My biscuit was not fluffy or soft, butter did not melt when it was added to biscuit. Side of gravy added to chicken biscuit was a little bit dribbled onto the chicken in the biscuit. If this had been our first visit to brunch, it would’ve been our last. Had to ask server for coffee refills every time, no anticipated refills were offered to us. This was not the experience that we expected when we booked Merchant Overpass for our valentines brunch.

   I think they were just having a bad service night bc the 1st we went it was much better. The hostess said they had overbooked, and she tried to seat us at the actual bar (which we wouldn’t have needed a Resv for. We finally got a table in the bar area at a high-top, which I specifically asked for a standard table. Took 30 minutes to get anyone to acknowledge us. After ordering, it took 45 min to get our food and they forgot the appetizer. Food was good - more like elevated bar snacks. Took another 25 min to get our check.Hoping they can work it out bc it’s a cute place.

   We arrived at the restaurant and it was closed! I should not have been able to make a reservation on open table when the restaurant was closed!!!!! Then my group had to scramble to find a place to have dinner….very disappointing

   One of my favorite places to go in Baton Rouge for casual dining. Reserved a standard table for four inside. When we arrived we were seated outside, even with the reservation and at least five open tables for four inside. I asked why I was being seated outside and didn’t get a great explanation. Not the same being outside, was extremely disappointed.

    My boyfriend and I enjoyed our brunch! We had cheese curds for an appetizer. Yummy, and I loved the restaurant style ranch served with them. My boyfriend had the breakfast burger and he loved it. I got the honey chicken biscuit which was great as well. We both got Bloody Marys which were delicious. Our only complaint is that the past few restaurants we’ve used OpenTable to book through always end up seating us at these family style long benches where we can hear every word of our neighbors conversations and literally reach out and touch them! Plus, no room for me to sit next to my boyfriend at any point during the meal without rubbing elbows with the customer next to him. I guess that seating style is the trend now but I wish we could have had more say over our seating choice. I wish OpenTable would show the layouts of restaurants and let us select a table that way… it would be fantastic!

    Food wasn’t cold when it came out but wasn’t warm either it was bland truffles fries were soggy and were barely fried and it’s my favorite item on the menu but i barely touched them

    We had fabulous lemon drop martinis, beer and other cocktails. The brussel sprouts, cheese curds and pork buns were tasty and great to share. That burger is one of the best in BR. Our server was very attentive , we will be back.

    Took my teenagers out to dinner. This place has a great vibe and the decor/ambiance is great, but they didn’t take into account acoustics when designing. It’s so loud every time I’ve been here that you have to strain to have conversations. It’s a real peeve of mine. The food was OK. It’s usually so much better but it was Friday night and super busy, so I give a pass on this issue. Overall, I like the restaurant and will try again, but not on a weekend night.

    We had a table for four inside for brunch. We started with the cheese curds which were great. I had a very good Bloody Mary. I decided on the Texas Ranger with extra gravy. The chicken and biscuits were cooked well. The sausage gravy was so good that I split my biscuits and added the extra gravy. We will be coming back.

    We were sitting outside and the noise from the Interstate was very loud and the fans not enough to beat Louisiana's summer heat. I had the Monday special of red beans. They beans were slightly undercooked (not the creamy cooked to falling apart beans I prefer) and with high level of hot sauce. I prefer to adjust the heat with hot sauce on the side. My husband had the burger with truffle fries, that he enjoyed very much. I love their innovative cocktail menu and enjoyed the Prague Ghost. My husband chose a fat tire from the well curated beer menu.

    The food was good, as always, but my friend and I felt incredibly rushed. We were hoping for a yummy meal during which we could visit. However, not even halfway through our meal, we were asked if we would like boxes and the check. It was obvious we were not finished. For the rest of the meal, we felt as though they were ready for us to leave. Disappointed, as we’d experienced great customer service and food in the past.

    I met a bunch of girls at The Overpass Merchant for a fun lunch. We started with a great cocktail and each of us ordered something from the menu. They had great weekly lunch specials to choose from, in addition to their regular menu. Our server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. It was not overly crowded so we were able to talk and laugh without having to shout to hear each other. Definitely a fun place to grab lunch. Parking around there was the only item that gave me pause. But once I figured out it was allowed to park under the overpass it all worked out!

    Overall fantastic experience. Service exceptional. I did read reviews about the noise level, it was loud. Could probably turn down the music a few notches and would be better. The place is small. We had a party of 5 and were near bar at a high top table with stools. Not ideal, especially when you have elder person but luckily she is still spry and very healthy. Service was just exceptional and fast! We went from brunch.

    We loved the cocktail menu, especially the Prague Ghost. Delicious! If you sit on the patio, be prepared to yell over the boom of traffic on the overpass. It's all part of the ambiance. Service was extremely pleasant, friendly, and attentive. The food was tasty and the menu has a pleasant diversity. We will definitely return to this restaurant.
