The Octagon Theatre
The 'Prelude' to a magnificent evening of entertainment begins in our comfortable bistro.
We are proud to present a selection of dishes to satisfy any appetite and celebrate local food producers and suppliers.
Our aim is to serve you your meal within 25 minutes of placing your order; however, during very busy periods this may not be possible and you may wish to consider ordering a Salad Bar with Jacket Potato to avoid a wait.
We can only hold a booked table up to a maximum of 30 minutes after your reservation time, so please make every effort to inform us if you are running late to avoid disappointment. Last orders for the kitchen is 7.00pm.
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO REDEEM OPEN TABLE "DINING CHEQUES"
Choose from a fine selection of meats, salads and local delicatessen with our seasonally changing salad bar, served with an oven baked potato. Allergy Advice on Salad Bar
Oven Baked Jacket Potato
Served with butter and your choice of one of the following toppings; Cheese, Cheese & Beans, Tuna Mayo or Coleslaw. Please ask for allergy advice
We decided to eat before we watched the Elton John tribute. Honestly, the staff couldn't be more helpful and polite. And the food was delicious, at the same time very good value for money.
Best show ever and we have been to many and have more shows booked up !!!
We had the salad buffet, which was lovely. Very fresh and lots of choice - would recommend.
Ordered a salad and chicken in white wine sauce. Salad comes with a jacket spud, by the time my chicken dish had arrived (lost the ticket) my wife had finished her meal. I had to wait 40 minutes for my meal to arrive, no apologies either. Won’t be going back again as the food is mediocre and I have had better for less elsewhere.
Convenient to eat there before a show. Maybe a change of menu, one monthly or two monthly If you go regular to shows a bit the same!!
Main course ok but dessert not very good and quite expensive
Food was fresh and hot, and served with in a reasonable time (about 15 mins). Staff were polite and helpful.
Good food, prompt service, reasonably priced. Staff were all very friendly.
Although the menu is limited the food is of very good quality and is of home cooked style
Excellent food, good value, pleasant atmosphere. A great eating place
Lovely food and service. Staff very quick and efficient. We did have to wait long for our meal
The only real issue is with ambience. A look at the lighting in particular would be good. Otherwise excellent. No obvious way to reward good service directly with the waiter concerned.
Very good value for money food. Staff attentive and pleasant.
Excellent service, varied menu with something for everyone. The food was served promptly & delicious, really flavoursome. Staff were friendly & helpful. A really pleasant experience all round.
Just perfect, very friendly food lovely show brilliant
Ideal with my granddaughters before the pantomime . Prices good , service was delivered in a friendly manner . I would not hesitate to recommend the whole experience .
Always have a good meal here, good size portions and great value for money
Food very basic but nothing wrong wit it at all.
Waiting staff need to pay more attention to diners
Great pre panto meal with the family. Fresh food and good service
Table was in quiet area and we were welcomed with a lovely smile.
Menu was nice and food and drinks served in good time. Pleasant atmosphere. A lovely start to the panto.
We were looked after very well.
The menu was just right for a light pre show meal.
The staff are very obliging and helpful.
We were served in good time to enjoy the pantomime afterwards
The table was fine, but it was in a quite chilly area, we nearly had to keep our coats on. hence food got cold quickly. Food was tasty, but frozen veg a bit soggy
Fantastic food and service at The Octagon. Great choice of food for both adults and children. Fast and efficient service. The food was very good, plentiful and hot. Would definitely recommend.
Nice food, good service, no complaints. Great panto!
Not many at the show, fewer eating, so mo salad bar available which was my husband had been hoping for. The ham served is always delicious.
6.30 booking, food arrived at7. 05 leaving no time for a pudding and little time to eat main course. Prior warning prior to seeing the menu with a 25 min warning should have informed when booking
Really tasty food. Great service and good value. Watched a really good show.
Excellent venue for a relaxed evening all under one roof. Food delicious and good value. Service excellent, would recommend that customers are told when they are shown to their table that they are to order and pay for the meal at the bar.
Very nice food, would have bben better if plates were warm
Food and service good, but it became rather noisy and overcrowded when drinkers invaded the dining area, crowding out the tables etc., thereby destroying any ambience and making eating and conversation far less enjoyable.
The cod chips and peas were delicious which were served with tartare sauce.
The crumble was good too
Sent the Chili Con Carne back twice as the meat was lumpy so that the knife could not get through it, and I couldn't chew it.
Had to go for the fish and chips instead.
The peas with it were of a poor quality. I ate most of the meal.
The manager came to apologise and offered a free drink which I accepted for my partner as I was driving. The staff were very understanding and I said I would try the Chili Con Carne again on a future visit. A disappointment last evening as the meals are usually very good. My partner enjoyed her Veggie Thai curry. MJS.
Unfortunately the Thai curry was too hot to enjoy
Waited 35 minutes for order only then to be told after complaining that the till had frozen and my order had not gone through! Then had to wait another 15 minutes for meal to be prepared and when came one was full of grizzel in the meat of the chilli. Not recommended for a further visit.
Food quality and quantity very good. Service very good. Nice to be able to get a good meal before the show, makes it a very special evening.
A waitress came to gentleman’s rescue when he dropped his drink and handled the situation beautifully
We enjoyed an extremely good meal at the Octagon theatre in Yeovil before the show with Michael Portillo.
The food was very well prepared with lots of choice and more than adequate portions and very well priced. Nothing to complain about at all.
I haven’t a very big appetite and had the chicken in sauce, veg and dauphinois potatoes. It was just the right amount and I was glad to see the plate was not piled high. It was very tasty and I would certainly have it again delicious
Friendly, helpful staff, food well cooked and well presented, all good value for money and helps make an evening at the theatre a really enjoyable event.
Booked a table for the first time though I've visited the Octagon many times. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The menu was very appetising & excellent value for money. We both chose the salad bar & it was excellent. The quality of the cold meats & quiche was excellent and a fantastic array of yummy salads. Excellent.
