The food was amazing! We shared the maitake mushrooms and I had the black cod entree. The Portion size is smaller but delicious. We sat on the mezzanie level at a great table overlooking the bar.

Second time dining at The Matheson. Chose the second floor this time. It's much quieter and less bustling than the main floor. Service was outstanding, and the food was terrific.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I had such terrible service. It began at the host stand when the host abruptly asked for our names and nothing else. Not a hello, not a welcome, just simply what’s your name. Then a different person took us to the chef counter, and immediately (didn’t even have our menus open) said I’m sure the host told you but we need these seats at 6:30 pm (in 1.5 hours); again not a welcome, thanks for joining, nothing. We were on time for our 5 pm resy. The big toppers were that when we left at 6:30 the chef counter was nearly empty (4 patrons only) and within 45 minutes both me and my friend played a game of music toilet because something we ate must have been was spoiled. We had the filet, the milk bread, and halibut crudo. Punch line, there are many amazing dining choices in Healdsburg, unfortunately this is not one of them. Pass on the attitudes and poor food.

Awesome food and great experience. We loved the wine wall, it’s a great way to try different wines. Lively atmosphere and we enjoyed watching the chefs make the amazing dishes.

Fantastic celebration for our anniversary! The servers were all amazing and made our evening really special. Great menu and fantastic wine list with really helpful & knowledgeable waiter and sommelier. Highly recommend !

What a great anniversary experience. We chose the Chef’s Pick five course menu with wine pairing. Just fabulous food and value. $300 total with the wine for a couple. One of the best food experiences we have encountered. Unexpected treat. Sorry, but who needs the French Laundry.
