Michael Anthony’s Market Cafe, the sister restaurant to Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana, features casual, trattoria-style dining for lunch and dinner plus an Italian specialty shop. Located just across the breezeway from Michael Anthony’s, we cater to almost all of your culinary desires.
Here we showcase a menu of lighter fare including sandwiches, salads, pasta, pizza and smaller portions of our chefs’ acclaimed meat and seafood dishes. We also have Italian coffees and a full bar. "Hilton Head Monthly" readers have voted us their “Favorite New Restaurant” and “Favorite Lunch Place.”

Casey the manager and Jackie the server were very friendly and efficient. The thin crust pizza was excellent as was my wife’s gluten free pizza. We will definitely come back here on our next visit to HHI

Veal parm was heavily breaded you couldn’t tell it was veal, plus it came out dry so I had to ask for sauce on the side, ordered a martini and received half a martini. When I said something I was shocked they didn’t go back and make more to add to the glass. Very disappointed overall and I love the restaurant side

We had a great dinner in the Market at Michael Anthony's. Our waiter was excellent and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and the outdoor tables very nice and dog friendly. The meatballs are out of this world as is the arincini. Everything was delicious and we will definitely return.

It was our Anniversary and they treated us with Prosecco and a small desert with Limoncello. We appreciate it! The ambience is nice, feels like Italy. Now, the fried calamari was very oily; my spaghetti with crab was terrible. Very dry, no sauce, no flavor at all and almost no crab. I had to add lots of olive oil and grated Parmesan to be able to eat it. My husband's choice was alright. So, out of 3 choices, just 1 was good.

I made the reservation thinking I was going to Michael Anthony's. So I was a little disappointed. It was quaint and quiet. The menu was limited. So look at it before you go. They sell a variety of sauces there. But they aren't offered on the menu. I thought we would be able to get spaghetti with our choice of sauce. You can't. I had veal parm and it was average, as were the other meals served. They were good, but not great. The atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent. It's not bad, but limited. It doesn't compare to Michael Anthony's next door.

A great small plate Italian meal deal. We loved and shared the Panzanella, Arancini, and Steak special. Casey and the whole staff are exceptional, very polite with witty personalities. This is our cozy night out eatery.

How very disappointing our whole experience was last night — the service was sparse/inattentive, our food (all 4 of us) was not good (dry/tasteless chicken parm/ tasteless pasta with crab/ dry and untasty Caesar with shrimp…with the last two crammed into small “cereal” bowls for presentation). Perhaps the regular chef was on vacation? Standards have been greatly reduced.

Excellent overall experience. Would definitely go again. Great food and we enjoyed the smaller feel of the restaurant. It was a longer dining experience which we appreciated giving the three of us plenty of time to enjoy the evening. Highly recommended.

The Market Cafe at Michael Anthony's is my go-to restaurant on island! The atmosphere is quaint; the service is always excellent and personable; and the food is consistently spot on! Our party of 4 had diverse offerings - the salmon special as well as on menu items, and all foodies were very pleased. It was the first time that 2 of our party had been to The Market, and, like us, they will return!

Always love stopping by when in Hilton Head on vacation. Love the happy hour specials & pizza. Had the brussel sprouts last year & couldn’t wait to have them again this year. They were delicious but could have used more seasoning as they were a bit bland. We will stop again next time we’re in HHI.
