The Kilcot Inn was built in the 1690’s although there has been a dwelling here since the 1530’s. The Kilcot has a long and varied history but we know the building was initially built by Thomas Davis (b.1654.)

Recently, the Inn had fallen into disrepair and had become derelict. It was bought by a local businesswoman, Mrs. Thomas.

It was slowly refurbished to an excellent standard by the whole Thomas family, including Mr. Thomas, a builder, and her son, who worked on the site for the whole project.

The Kilcot Inn is now proud to offer award winning food and 4* Gold rated rooms- and are thrilled to be the next chapter in the history of The Kilcot Inn.

Have been to the Kilcot many times over the last few years. Unfortunately the food has deteriorated significantly. Disappointing for the lovely local pub

It was lovely as always. My friend and I always meet there every so often as it’s conveniently located between our houses. The food is always good as is the atmosphere. The only thing I would like to point out was that on this occasion there were no sandwiches available which was a bit disappointing. I would also like to point out that for some reason Panna Cotta has been taken off the menu! Why oh why as it was delicious! Perhaps on our next visit it will be reinstated?

Only a very small comment a selections of Cheeses would be nice instead of a pudding.

We sat outside, the roses are beautiful, staff diligent and professional and food delicious. The only negative comment is burgers, all varieties were with brioche bun which we avoided as they too sweet. Lovely evening

This was my 3rd visit but first time
I have been slightly disappointed.
Ordered chicken but told approximately 30 minutes wait so changed order as needed to leave within an hour and a half. Meal choice still very slow and unable to have dessert as again took so long to arrive.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Kilcott the only downside really was our table situated at a busy serving traffic point and so was a bit noisy, but the food was really good, we will certainly come back here again, hopefully quite soon!

Lovely pub, good Covid measures in place, but without feeling OTT and sterile.

Great service, lovely staff(especially the chap behind the bar) and the food was superb. I had ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection(and I’m fussy with how my steak is cooked!!!)

This was our first visit here, but definitely won’t be our last!!

Very expensive for what we had. The food was ok. Not overly impressed. We understand the situation everyone are in. Though it felt like the staff didnt want to be there. The food was fine but nothing to rave about, and didnt feel worth the money.

We decided last minute we’d like to eat out on a Friday. The first time since coming out of lockdown for us and very last minute. We thought we’d try booking our favourite local. Not surprisingly, I realised it was fully booked and joined the ‘waiting list’ thinking this was as far as our last minute meal out dreams would go. Sure enough, a message came through with a table availability.

I called the restaurant to confirm a time and they were nothing shirt of amazing in accommodating our wishes. A time was agreed, we were warmly welcomed on arrival, seated along with contact tracing details taken along with measure carefully explained.

The menu was carefully explained along with the specials which was greatly appreciated and excellent front of house from all that came to our table.

We were delighted with the service provided, despite being fitted in very last minute and enjoyed the food and drinks hugely.

We look forward to returning for a family event in the next month and again hopefully before that.

Thank you for such excellent service and quality of dishes served.

Really nice place and great staff. Food is lovely, gave 4 stars not 5 as would have liked a bit more veg with the lamb.
Wine was very nice too.
Our table was near the bar and in bit of a thoroughfare so we asked to move and this was no trouble for the staff.

First trip out since lockdown was lifted and just so disappointed with the food. I'm vegetarian and ordered roasted veg salad £9.95 - there was a small handful of veg and salad leaves that looked tired and as though they had simply been lifted out of a supermarket mixed salad bag.

We booked for a birthday party lunch with our family. Everyone was impressed with the whole experience. This was our first visit since December and were looking forward to dining there again as we have always had a great meal there. Sarah and her staff are great. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a good meal for 6 people mainly Sunday Roast. Good portions size and tasted very good, no complaints with food or service, staff helpful and friendly.

We did feel there should have been outside heater s which would have improved outside dining as some tables are very exposed in cold weather !!!

Overall a pleasant experience we will visit again and highly recommend.

I know that it was Covid and Christmas eve, but the cassoulet appeared to have been cooked in a microwave, was only warm and there was much too much on the plate. Almost as if it was the last of the stock and we were given it so that it wasn't thrown away. In the event, there was a lot left on the plate so it was probably wasted! The pheasant was overcooked and dry.
If we return then I will expect better next time as there will be no allowances for Covid 19!
