Very loud on a Monday night.
Food was excellent. Had soft shell crab sandwich special, which was delicious. Was able to substitute veggies for fries. Server Liz did a great job.
Food was very good. Service was also good.
They ran out of the Father’s Day special dessert but accommodated us by adding some of the ingredients to another dessert so that was nice.
It is a little loud in this restaurant.
We visited The Gage for Fathers Day breakfast. It was a busy day. The food was excellent. Overall, very positive experience. We will be back!!!
Great service- great food! Have always enjoyed brunch at The Gage.
Fathers Day Brunch.
Excellent food and service
Charmed. Great service and dinner. My family was delighted.
We were seated quickly, and the food was fast and tasty. Tables were pretty close together, making it easy to hear other conversations.
Always good food, good drinks and good service. A family favorite.
Great place. Very consistent in delivering good food, good service, good environment. It is a favorite.
The meal was fine, but service was less than attentive after we arrived, and once the bill was dropped off at our table, our waitress lost track of us.
excellent wait staff. interesting and creative menu
Didn't honor our 6:15 reservation, making us wait 20 minutes to be seated. It was stressful dining as we had a concert at 8pm at Symphony Hall.
Great for a business lunch. The noise level was a bit high but the food and service were superb.
We were there on a Wednesday night and it was still lively. The Fried pickles were a tasty starter. The classic wedge salad was well executed. The burgers were great. Someone in our party got the hanger steak as an entree and loved it. Another got the coconut, curry dish with scallops and it was fantastic. My favorite dessert was the chocolate mousse one while others loved the strawberry one.
I've been dining at The Gage for years but hadn't been here for quite some time until this week. I had a friend visiting from out of town and wanted to take her someplace fun but really good. The Gage, as always, did not disappoint. I had requested a table in the front section of the restaurant; the hostess mentioned that as soon as I checked in. So, I was pleased with the table. The service was superb. We each had a salad with the addition of the delicious free range chicken. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine and had a delightful dining experience.
We ordered seafood off the menu (scallops and halibut) and the seafood was very tasty. But that’s all we received to eat for that price.
Each of our entrees was around $36-$$38 apiece. This price did not include a salad, a dinner roll, a piece of bread, or even a side to compliment the seafood. Nothing but the seafood! We think that for the price, we should have received more.
For two people, one drink apiece, sharing a salad and two coffees, our bill was over $140 and we left the restaurant hungry!
Halibut was great. Fish and chips great fish. salmon with grilled stone fruit was excellent.
Excellent service and food! Great location too!
As always, consistently good and the menu evolves so there is always something new to try or the last dish you had has morphed into something recognizable but different. Always, very good.
Great staff and fun location for people watching. Loved the outdoor seating. Very delicious food! I would go again.
We came pre-concert and our server was very attentive to timing. He also a accommodated a member of our party who was quite late by recommending a quick option—fish and chips! Drinks are always excellent here. The daily fish special was a spectacular halibut preparation.
We had a party of three and we all ordered the venison burger which was excellent. We were able to reserve a table at the back end of the restaurant where it’s not so noisy and you could hear the conversations. Our first time at The Gage and we will be back.
Just too loud
The Gage staff is always so friendly and professional. I love visiting the Gage for business lunches.
Had a lunch meeting with clients. Service was excellent. Good variety of choices for all 6 of us. Portions are on the large side so you shouldn't walk away hungry!
Always a favorite place to dine.
Too noisy .. great food
Great place for our graduation celebration!
If you’re gonna serve the big sandwiches, you need buns that can hold up to the middle bits. Case in point is the spicy chicken. Flavors all worked well but the whole thing fell apart when I picked it up.
We had requested Cody for a server. He is one of the best! He answered all our questions and made sure all our food was out quickly. We were on a little time crunch. He is always friendly and checked on us often. Hope he is still going to work when he goes back to school.
Allison another one of our favorites. She always greets me by name and has our reservation and table always ready.
Halibut special was perfectly cooked and delicious. Venison burger was juicy and the condiments packed a little punch. Broad wine by the glass selections.
It was a Lovely dinner and a beautiful memory. Thank you
Took 15 minutes to seat us, when they did my silverware was dirty. We felt rushed out of there while everyone next to us that was sat well before us got to enjoy their meals. The hostess for some reason was taking our order and I saw her and the waiter that eventually waited on us (after we had ordered?) staring at us multiple times during our meal. Overall, horrible and will never be back!
Excellent food and drinks. Perfect for before the show
The level of the food might be slipping. Still pretty good, and good for late night dining. Pretty good wine list.
We have been going to the Gage for many years. Excellent food and exceptional service.
Had the opportunity to dine at The Gage before attending Hamilton for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Absolutely will visit The Gage again. Food was excellent and well-timed. Our waitstaff went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met and made our evening very special.
