The Front Porch is an intimate restaurant featuring creative Southern Coastal Cuisine located in historic Leonardtown. Set within the Sterling House, we offer casual dining in a cozy atmosphere and our friendly staff delivers gracious service.

We are open for outside, dine-in downstairs and dine-in upstairs seating by reservation only. Outside seating is weather permitting and available in order of booking. Outside seating is only available if you are given the option when you confirm your reservation.. Please call for any party in excess of 8 people. Please call if anyone in your party can not walk upstairs. We do not have an elevator. If you cannot show up for your reservation... Please call and cancel. PLEASE!

    We chose to eat outside, but the wind blew the hard plastic menu onto the water glass, which spilled on everything, including a guest. Aside from the time it took to get help, our meal was quite good. Guests from abroad enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Dessert was not offered. This is a quite good restaurant and deserves 5 stars if they had a little more help.

    We had a wonderful birthday lunch for my husband. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was so good, one of the best we eaten. The drinks were so tasty and very inexpensive from other restaurants-bars. We will definitely come back very soon.

    Water served was luke warm - they should really provide ice. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm. It took us over an hour to receive our food (a salad, two chicken sandwiches, and a steak and cheese). The salad was good, the steak and cheese was dry, and one chicken sandwich was very saucy, but the other one wasn't). Our server was polite but didn't check on us very often and she ended up putting a $34 bottle of wine on our bill (which we didn't get) which she took off. Prices were pretty good.

    I love the location nestled right in the beautiful town square of Leonardtown. The service is outstanding with friendly and knowledgeable waitresses. I also love the atmosphere, top notch! The menu has a variety of entrees, and I have never been disappointed with my selection. Thank you!

    Front Porch is one of our favorite "go-to" places when we have friends and family visiting from out of town. Rarely are we disappointed...plus their adult beverages are outstanding.

    This was our 3rd trip to the Frontporch. Something was different, service wasn't as good a previous visits. Thr food was kinda bland with the exception of the crabdip, which was amazing

    We've been to The Front Porch three times. Each time I believe the service and food quality have gone down, with higher prices. Once they even screwed up our reservation, putting us upstairs despite our early reservation for a table down stairs. Apparently a large party trumped us, even though our reservation was put in before the large party. We won't be going here again.

    Two of us were celebrating birthdays, so we met at a very special place - The Front Porch! Our server was top-notch, and our menu selections were quite good with very generous servings. My only concern was that the crab cakes were too salty.

    The food was very good. It came to us hot, and the wait staff was wonderful. We sat outside on the front porch on the perfect day because there was a nice breeze, and we were in the shade. This was only our second time going for brunch and we would definitely go back again. The prices are good for the amount of food.

    We love The Front Porch! The food is always excellent and the service is great. On this visit Sabrina took care of us and she was fabulous. It was a busy day, and she had tables outside (where we were seated, literally on the front porch). She kept us aware of when the food was coming and checked on us frequently. We never had a negative experience and if you seek a delicious affordable meal, I heartily recommend The Front Porch!

    Food was over salted and over cooked, and we were the last group in the dining room to get our meals for the evening. Server was extremely polite and nice even though dessert was not offered. Not many places are open on Tuesday and it was nice to find this place so busy.

    Loved the house turned into a restaurant! Making a reservation was awesome, I wait time. Maybe a better dessert options, peach cobbler, key lime pie. The bread pudding was okay, kind of plain.

    Crab cake, Reuben and Ahi Ahi all delicious and fresh and appetizing. Professional, courteous and efficient all around. Outdoor and indoor seating. Had a little trouble with Open Table but the third try was a charm.

    It took over 15 minutes for our waitress to come and take our order. We were given water and left at the table for over 15 minutes. We ended up having to ask the hostess to send our waitress to our table so we could place our order. We got our food, which was very good, but we waited for quite awhile to get our check. We ended up having to ask the hostess to send our waitress to our table to give us our check. The room we were in was also occupied by another group of about five people who were extremely loud. I know that’s not something anyone can help but it was definitely difficult to have a nice dinner when you’re in a room alone with five people who are trying to talk over each other.

    We really wanted to like it. We finally had an opportunity to try it for dinner, and came in about 30 minutes early to have a drink at the bar. Cocktail was made badly, with the bartender measuring vermouth in bottle caps, pouring very inky black cherry syrup in the cocktail despite being asked not to do so, turning it overly sweet and green. We were seated at our table and waited 20 minutes with no waitress. After reviewing the menu for several minutes and not being able to order, we ended up looking at the menus for other places in town. We had a fabulous dinner down the street. We were so disappointed as we've been following TFP on social media, and the food always looks good. We will not be back, however. Too many good places to eat with great service to waste our time here. The venue is a lovely historic home, though, and that was nice to see.

    We made a special trip from the DC suburbs to attend Wharf Fest in Leondardtown. As much as we enjoyed the festival (and the world’s largest rubber duck!) the stand-out experience was our relaxed and delicious dinner at The Front Porch. The food (Maryland crab cakes) and drink (a themed cocktail garnished with a Peeps duck) were wonderful and the service was attentive, efficient, and friendly. We sat for a while after dinner on porch rockers. We will be back!

    Our repast was wonderful! Everything was so perfect and smoothly orchestrated. The food and service were great! Jordan was wonderful to work with! She was very flexible as my guest list grew and grew. I plan on having another, smaller reception there in September.

    Previously we’ve had issues twice however we wanted to give the Front Porch another chance. Unfortunately it didn’t go well. Our waitress was great however the food was not. My medium rare steak came out well done, the mushroom risotto was dry, only having mushrooms placed on top not cooked into and my daughters crispy potatoes were more like a soggy mess. We were given a dessert to help with the mess ups but we just won’t be coming back.
