   Our lunch was amazing Jennifer our server was awesome. Friendly and efficient. I had an amazing drink Cooper something, actually I had two. As always it's one of my favorite places to eat and be with friends

   Visited for brunch with a reservation and our party of two was seated in the back surrounded by families with small children - it was loud, messy and chaotic. Lots of screaming and multiple spills and broken glasses. There was a high chair shoved right up against our table and a toddler climbing around the booth, making it difficult to have a conversation and eat comfortably without fear of bumping into someone. Atmosphere seemed better in the front. Service was very slow, they seemed to have one server for the entire huge dining room. Overpriced for the quality of the food (just fine) and cocktails. Don't think we'll be back.

   We were a party of three with reservations on a Sunday afternoon.We were seated promptly.Received very good service from Jennifer.All three entrees were excellent: lamb, shrimp and the short ribs.The Caesar salad was big enough that we shared it.We had an enjoyable dinner.

   This was my first time visiting. The Good: The food was done creatively, had nice-sized portions, tasted great, had attentive table service, was accommodating to special diets, and had excellent drinks. Bad: I am so tired of going to a new restaurant and being treated poorly by the management. We arrived just when they opened for dinner, plenty of tables were available, and they sat us right next to the kitchen, where literally someone was passing by our table every 30 seconds. I asked for a new table, but why treat us this poorly at the start of our dining experience? When we were moved to a new table, the table next to us at our new spot said, "oh, we asked to be moved too!" The commonality between our two groups is that we were all in our 60s, and, unfortunately, in my opinion, the establishment is practicing intentional ageism when seating guests. Can you offer another explanation, "The Food Market"?

    Enjoyed the food. Would have liked more mashed potatoes and green beans. I had 2 fish pieces, but could only eat 1. Took 2nd one home but no mashed potatoes or green beans left to take home. Veggie portion enough for 1 piece of fish not 2. But overall very happy. Restaurant/bar is very loud. I would prefer if it wasn’t so loud. Idk if anything could be done? Our waitress was fabulous—very attentive and personable.

    Good space-good service- however food was just okay- we ordered several appetizers and I honestly cannot say that any were really good. I had expected more- perhaps it was an off night.

    Food was amazing and drinks were incredible. I tried four different cocktails and was so happy with each one! Definitely get the Pretzel. I loved the lamb chops and the Brussels as well!!

    We have been to this restaurant several times. It is always super busy. The food is usually worth it. I need gluten free and they ha e good choices. The service is usually wonderful. Last night was the first major issue. The food and service was fine. But my husband became terribly ill before we even got home. He had the cast iron steak and the charred octopus. I'm meal was delightful but his was hours of being very ill. That said, this is not typical and the food is usually top tier. It may be a while but I am sure we will be back.

    Birthday dinner for my girlfriend, her parents were in town to visit. Jennifer was excellent and we really enjoyed sitting at the last table before the kitchen. When we sat we noticed a small little card in the center saying ‘thank you for celebrating with us’ and it was such a nice touch to start the meal with! We loved watching all the different dishes come out and got some inspiration of what to order. Started with mozz sticks, fried oysters, beet salad, corn beignet, and mussels and everything was delicious! For mains we got the sea bass, cast iron steak and the scallops and everyone agreed we’d get it all again if we had room! Food has amazing and cocktails were equally as enjoyable! We turned down dessert but they still brought a dirt cup with a candle for the birthday girl!

    First, our server was excellent—friendly, professional, knew the menu well, including cocktails and desserts, gave great recommendations, and he is what made it a 5-star evening overall. The food was delicious and well-prepared and presented as were the cocktails. Given that we ordered from the Little, Small, and Veggies sections of the menu, the portions were surprisingly generous. And our server and the runners brought everything out at just the right time, with very little waiting. The only downsides for us were that it was a little pricey for some items, and that the setting was not what you would term cozy, with a noise level that is not the worst, but still relatively high when the place fills up as it did on our visit on a Friday evening. It is a large and long open space with a high ceiling and with the small bar toward the front, which almost looks like an after-thought the way it is appended to and juts out from the side wall. The kitchen is an open one in the back of the long space. The best tables in the house look to be those in front of the bar area, along the front window, looking out on the Avenue, 36th Street. But still 5- stars all the way and we would return without hesitation.

    We occasionally visit an area restaurant to enjoy a different meal. The Food Market did not disappoint. We enjoy sharing dishes, and the menu is perfectly suited for that. Our server, Andy, knew exactly how to make our meal go the way we wanted. Looking forward to another visit!

    Me and husband ate at this restaurant while spending our weekend in Maryland. We looked up several eateries online, and the Food Market had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We were definitely not disappointed! The restaurant was awesome. We had a great server who was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. The food was delicious. We did have one issue with the crab soup not being hot when it came out, but they replaced the soup and were very professional and apologetic about it. His waffles and duck meal was the best thing I have tasted in some time. Absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my BLT as well. We will definitely be returning here any time we visit our family in the Maryland area.

    The street tacos and cheesesteak steam buns were a hit! My husband really liked the street cauliflower and octopus. We also got the tuna meatballs and tuna small plate. I would say we could have done without the curry pickled green beans and tuna meatballs. It was packed for our 6pm reservation and may be a tough place to take someone who is hard of hearing. Good local beer selection and the Robert Frost cocktail was refreshing!

    Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Jocelyn was our server and she was incredible. We started with the crab soup (easily one of the best I ever had with huge chunks of crab meat) and the lamp chops (lamb chops were 🔥). For entrees we had the Blackened tuna and the Short Rib. Black tuna was perfectly prepared and the Short Rib was some of the best we’ve ever had… we finished up with the Bread Pudding dessert (probably big enough for a party of 4 to share). We will be back asap!
