Lovely old building, mind your head on some low beams by fireplace! Friendly welcoming service and good food. The one draw back is the lack of parking. All marked out parking in small "square" were occupied and had to park on road down one of streets. This January, could be very difficult later in the year.

Fabulous as always. The staff as always welcoming with fabulous food. The most difficult thing to do is decide what not to have.
Burger was fabulous and the roast chicken pie was amazing.

Super efficient and pleasant mannered staff. My Sunday roast was excellent though my wife commented that her beefburgher wasn't quite up to the one she had three weeks ago. Superb beer and wine. All well presented. Thoroughly agreeable atmosphere. Heaven!

We booked a heated horse box outside for Sunday lunch. The young waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. The food was very good and hot! My vegetarian pie and mash was really delicious and hubby and daughter loved their roast dinner and burger and chips respectively. Our third meal at The Fleece since October and we'll definitely be back!

Another great meal at this wonderful pub. I asked for a fireside table, but placed away from the fires. They quickly rectified this, but our intervention was needed to get the fire going to the level required to combat the cold. Not a complaint, I love tending fires and prompted me to start ours when we got home. Pigs ear was top notch as normal.

My favourite pub!

Another delicious meal and we were in a little room off the main bar area. Would have been even nicer if the fire was lit but, food was delicious and staff very helpful.

First time we have visited this pub and it won't be our last. How lovely to have a pub that is totally unspoiled and original. On a cold miserable day there were open fires in both rooms dutily attended to by the friendly staff.
The food was excellent and nicely cooked, no soggy veg here. We had the beef and ale pie which was delicious, make sure you have an appetite as the portions are generous. Unfortunately we had no room for a dessert but the coffee was also excellent. Highly recommended.

Very characterful old pub with very low ceilings. Many hidden rooms so a lot to explore. Food offering very traditional and bread for sandwich was neither thick cut as the menu said nor very fresh. But all in all a good experience

It was my first visit after hearing how good the food, service and ambiance was from friends who have been frequenting here for some time.
I have to say it excelled what i had visualised and expected.
Not only was the building quaint and beautiful having so much history and so much to look at the food was impeccable and the service was excellent I definitely will be returning very soon.

I ordered the ‘Award Winning’pie, and what a DISAPPOINTMENT it was. Soggy, mushy pastry, dry meat and not great on flavour. The hand cut chips were more like skin on wedges. The staff were great but didn’t take the meal off the bill just £8 which I felt was very poor. I’ve eaten here before and it was amazing. I’m sad to say we won’t return.
