   This was our first time dining at The Fifth String and it was absolutely phenomenal! The ambiance and service was really great and the food was wonderful. Amos the executive chef even stopped by to chat with us for a bit. We cannot wait to come back and try the new items on the rotating menu!

   Despite our good service we were not very excited about the food. Especially for the cost. The bread was delicious, but you hate to base your experience on the bread. There was only one salad option which was the endive salad and it was tasty and good. If you are vegan, or have a dairy allergy, this is not the restaurant for you. The sea scallops dish was very salty and the scallops were small. I understand a wine vinegar braised kale will taste like vinegar, but it had too much on there for my taste. The kale was sitting in a lot of vinegar on the bottom of my dish as well. The chicken dish was very salty and everyone that got it did not care for the duck fat matzo balls. They said for the money it was definitely nothing special. But the chicken was at least moist. By the way, if it's your birthday don't expect a free dessert....lol, but the chocolate almond cake was good. This restaurant is expensive compared to other "foodie" type quaint restaurants near by. $49 for chicken! We really liked our server, and the atmosphere is nice, but we will not hurry back.

    Our server was an absolute ROCKSTAR, (wish I remember her name but she was wearing super sparkly eyeshadow so it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out on their end.) and the food was absolutely ridiculous in the best way!!! I brought my out of town friends for dinner and I can’t wait to go back, seriously EAT HERE!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GF!!! One of the best restaurants in Denver! Thank you fifth string!!

    Fifth String was as incredible as it was our first time around! We didn’t realize that the menu slightly tweaks with the season so we were so pleased to see the slight variations on things we loved the first time. Service was excellent along with suggestions for wine pairings. Thanks again Lauren for outstanding service, & all the other staff members!

    We ordered almost everything on the menu! The food was brought out in excellent increments. Seafood tower was amazing. Love the lettuce wrapped shrimp and crab salad. Hamachi toast and sweet and sour mushrooms were amazing. The chicken scallops and tri top were awesome too!

    Everything we had at The Fifth String was outstanding. From the appetizers to the bread with tallow to the short rib was simply delicious. The service was also impeccable. Lauren went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing birthday dinner here!

    5 star prices for 3 star food. Drinks - good. Cheese flambe - salty and meh. Endive salad - good. Scallops- good. Chocolate almond cake - too dense and flavorless. Okay, but nothing was great, and mostly a little off the mark.

    What is it with some restaurants these days in that you (the customer) are somehow there to ‘serve’ them, rather than the other way around ? like they’re doing you a favor. If that is what the restaurant is going for, fine…but it better be really good. This experience was both a marathon & a sprint. We waited to order, we waited for drinks & then were rushed through the food courses. I shouldn’t have to remind wait staff that I’ve placed an order, I shouldn’t have to tell wait staff not to clear my silverware & plate away when I’m still eating & to have to ask for my fork back to finish the dish and I shouldn’t have to tell wait staff I don’t want my entree immediately after finishing my appetizer. If you make good food give people the time to savour it & enjoy the experience. I’m not sure where the problem lay but I shouldn’t be made to feel like it’s mine. The food is excellent & at times the service was good but overall I was disappointed & the evening did not live up to our expectations. It didn’t help that my wife & I argued over the service fee…it wasn’t a great drive home 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Went for brunch. The food was disappointing. Waffle was like a lukewarm eggo smeared with jam and a mound of butter. Avocado toast tasty but average. Not worth it.

    A simple fabulous find! The service was impeccable. The food was extraordinary. We were promptly seated and served. All of the food served piping hot from the open format kitchen; including the fresh from the oven bread service. We could it have been happier with our first visit. We will be back. Definitely recommend for date night or other special occasions.

    I saw another review that said "if I could give this place a Michelin star, I would" - and I couldn't agree more. The food was creative and absolutely delicious, the staff was friendly and the aesthetic was on point. Will definitely return!

    Starters were great but the mains were mediocre at best. I had the shrimp /lobster udon and a take out Asian place would’ve been comparable or better. Server was outstanding, but the food was subpar in general and for the price.

    We came here for bunch. The food was beyond amazing. Every bite was better than before. They are newly opened for bunch. I think this was only their 4th weekend of serving brunch. The owner came over and had a nice conversation with us. He even let us take a mini bottle of his homemade hot sauce. We ordered the basic breakfast, waffle, and donut of the day.

    Food options were interesting and what we ended up choosing was very good. Waitress was excellent with lots of advice on what would work best for our dietary needs and provided great discussions about dishes we were considering. Service was outstanding. Definitely will return.
