The Family Jones Spirit House is a distillery and tasting room featuring crafted spirits and bites. It emphasizes the relationship between distiller, chef, bartender and guest, with a focus on hospitality that makes it a gathering place where all feel at home. Nestled in the space at 3245 Osage St., The Family Jones Distillery occupies the former Mancinellis Market building two doors from Root Down. Designed and built by tres birds workshop, the space pairs industrial elements with rich wood details. The roof was lifted to add a second-floor mezzanine where distillery operations are now perched above a sunken, curvilinear, concrete bar. Guests enter the space through a large, square, wooden door made from reclaimed, on-site materials. Inside, they are met with low-slung seating, deep blue booths and soft lighting. Two-story wooden louvers flank the Osage Street glass facade, offering passive temperature and lighting control, while drawing attention to the well-lit copper still.

Genever, the original form of gin, created by the dutch in the 1500's. This gin differs from standard styles with a base of 100% malted barley all grown and malted in Colorado. The botanical mix is juniper, coriander, orris root, bitter orange, rosemary and saaz hops. The distillate was rested in a used Rye Whiskey barrel for six months. Our wait person was not customer friendly! She first told us that we couldn't sit in certain areas and that we needed to leave before the 7pm spelling bee. Note I had a reservation and we did stay for a bit to experience the spelling bee. There was plenty of seating! She was just a bit to much of being "full of herself!"

The staff at The Family Jones are incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food and drink are delicious - we enjoyed the Fall Harvest charcuterie, focaccia, and a few cocktails. Both food and drink were perfectly executed. Their outdoor private domes are nice for those wanting something private and the ambiance inside is warm and inviting. My partner and I look forward to coming back.

This is not a food place, and we acknowledged that, but it was still disappointing that the only 2 items on a very limited menu weren't available. The host was on something, but he was still pleasant and we found it amusing more than anything. He was lovely in his altered state, as are the rest of the servers every time I've been there (unaltered haha). That Earl Grey hottie tottie is my fave, but it packs a creeping punch, I would say two max to keep things classy.

I love the setting at Family Jones. The low light, seasonal flowers, and dark blue couches are gorgeous. The cocktails are always delicious. Such a fun place to grab a drink with friends.

I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful Family Jones is. If you’re looking for something intimate, connected, laid back, sophisticated, and delicious, you can check every one of those boxes twice here. Could not possibly be more in love with their spirits and the overall spirit of the location. Are 10 stars possible? I’d give them 11.

Love The Family Jones. They don’t have a full dinner menu anymore so we went next door to Root Down for a meal after cocktails and a charcuterie board. TFJ’s cocktails are top notch though. Highly recommend.

The host tonight was incredibly rude from the time we walked in. We had a reservation and we were planning on staying longer as our server told us there was not a wait tonight. The hostess came and kick us out telling us “nothing personal but we have 3 parties waiting.” I would suggest getting the staff on the same page as you have people willing to stay and spend money and then someone coming by saying to leave. The host had poor customer service and I won’t be returning.

Apparently they are having Covid related issues with food procurement, which they didn’t really apologize for… really said this is how it is. It is a tough time for restaurants, we understand, but it would’ve been nice to have a little bit of notice about that or a bit more understanding. They had no print option for their menu only the scan and I struggle with those types of menus. Most places will give you a print copy option if you ask. Their specialty cocktails were not fantastic but they made a wonderful Moscow mule and even though it wasn’t in a copper mug, it was delicious. i’m vegetarian and the person I was with ate meat so I asked if they could separate it on the charcuterie platter which was one of the only food options available. He said of course that’s how it is separated and then it did not come separated. I’d probably consider going here more for drinks or apps rather than actual dinner☃️

This spot is amazingly decorated and the staff was responsive and fun. The cocktails were high-end and clearly made by professionals. We LOVED the old school rap playing it the background. I would highly recommend.
