Reservations are essential via the above booking portal. Credit card details are required at the time of booking however no funds are taken prior to your reservation. A $20 no-show fee is charged only without sufficient notice period of 12hrs.

Whilst we love them, we cannot accomodate bookings for pets.
The Epicurean Kitchen, Balnarring has bookable dining options available for you and your pets.

Bookings of 2 - 6 can enjoy our a la carte menu offering.
Bookings of 7+ adult guests are required to dine on our Winter Feasting Menu $75pp. Our Chefs cater to all preferences and dietary requirements wherever possible, please alert your waitstaff when you arrive.

Please include Children in your total number of guests when making a booking and leave a note for the restaurant when completing your reservation. A childrens menu is available.

A 7.5% surcharge applies on weekends / 20% on public holidays.

    Disappointed. I’ve been there previously and everything was excellent. This time I took international visitors, expecting a great experience, and was very unimpressed. The service was terrible, all the staff appeared new. The food was just average as well, looks like they have changed the menu. I won’t be returning.

    My husband and I decided ro try epicurean while they had some time available most other restaurants around the area were fully booked. We both ordered the linguine and I specifically asked for no dairy or butter since I have dairy allergies. Spoke to the waitress and coordinator who had no clue and the food had arrived with butter!! And with barely any protein (mainly pasta) spent over $100 and honestly have to say I’m really disappointed - with both food and service as they denied the fact that there was butter. Plus spending that much money you would expect far greater quality food and service

    We were there for my dad’s birthday and four out of six of us had finished our meals before two, including dad’s, had even arrived. Disappointing. Went to cellar and pantry for desert. So overpriced.

    A great venue, but to be honest the food is way overpriced for what it is. To pay over $30.00 for a pizza is excessive. Not to mention an Aperol Spritz at $20.00 and an Expresso Martini at $27.00 is the highest I have ever seen. When you add in the 10% surcharge for Sunday it is over the top. It is isnt fine dining....

    The food wasn’t as tasty as it usually is. The gnocchi beef was tender but the pasta and sauce super bland, no taste at all. Zucchini side plate was not cooked properly and again no flavor. Pizzas were nice needed a little seasoning on the sauce base. Potatoes and sticky date pudding were both delicious We’ll go back as it’s usually much better that this time.

    Very expensive for what you get, long waits to get served but were quickly pushed out as soon as plates were cleared... brought the bill to the table along with the EFTPOS machine

    This was our second time here, we absolutely love the food! The margherita pizza is so good we ordered two of them and devoured it. Hands down one of the best woodfire pizzas. Not only the pizza, but all our other dishes were spectacular. However, only downside on this visit was being seated next to the function room were there was a big celebration and no one knew how to close the door besides two waiters. We didnt want to complain and cause a problem, but the music got so loud we had to ask to move seats. We finally began to enjoy the ambience after the move. Highly recommend this restaurant.

    While the venue and atmosphere were really nice, as was the food...it was too overpriced for the size of the meals. Additionally, we waited a HOUR for our one main to arrive, then another 10minutes for the second main (which was a pizza, an hour and 10mins for a pizza!) Meanwhile the people next to us ordered 30mins AFTER us but given their mains 10 mins BEFORE us, therefore only waiting 20 mins while we waited an hour!

    The service was amazing. Very friendly and happy staff. It is nice to go to a restaurant where staff are enjoying their job and love to please their customers. Nothing was too hard for them. Food was perfect. We will definitely be back again.

    The experience of the shed is a true testament to the skill and care of Craig and his team . Food that I Pires awesome service from Kate and her team and local wines that truly make the difference. Had the calamari and the pea risotto with the olives . A wonderful Pinot Noir from Birchwood lane , coffee and two desserts . Magical world and magical place. Truly great experience

    Thank you to the staff for looking after us so well during our recent lunch. The pizza & salumi platter were incredible, best pizza we’ve ever enjoyed, compliments to the Pizza Maestro! We also enjoyed the Pasta Carbonara & homemade Lobster & Prawn Ravioli, both 10/10. What a treasure find this is, was busy but totally enjoyable despite the School Holiday crowds. The Bellini Mocktail was also delicious. We’ll be back :)

    Love the feel of the epicurean but it’s very pricy to take a family of five for dinner, plus a weekend surcharge of 20% then another charge to use a card to pay. The prawn lobster ravioli wasn’t very good for the price and the pizzas had way too much cheese. The famous lemonades arent worth $8.50. Overall overpriced for what you get.

    I had a piece of wood in my pizza. No effort made to compensate. Only stated must be off wood floor n the oven. Not good enough. I could have suffered a series mouth injury

    We had a large group and ate from the set menu and it was great. There was plenty of food, and they were very accommodating with any further requests we had. The food came out really quickly and the wait staff were lovely.

    We love it here. Always worth returning. It would less ambient if you weren’t by the fire. The beef cheek was incredible but the side of greens being circles of zucchini was underwhelming. Garlic beans never goes astray over zucchini. Tried the special cannelloni desert and it was very small for the price. Overall, the Epicurean is holding its value.

    We arrived at our booking time and waited to be seated for about 5 minutes, 4 staff members made eye contact but did not say anything, it was quite awkward. As locals we used to eat here quite a bit a few years ago, we hadn't been in a while and were disappointed with what it has become. The food was average and overpriced, and the service was not attentive or friendly. Reading some of the reviews on Google, it seems there are consistent issues with just being acknowledged upon arrival.

    Loved this dining experience but the disinterested waiter was a let down. Waitress was great. We live a few hundred metres away and would love to come more often but for me, the disinterested waiter killed it so will be a year or two before we would go back. It’s not hard to be friendly or pretend to care.
