Established in 2004 in Corbin, KY, The Depot on Main has been a significant part of Main Street for more than a decade. We want to provide everyone who comes through our doors with a unique and enjoyable experience that customers want to share with friends and family. As Corbin constantly grows, we find our restaurant feels like home because of the families who eat with us again and again. Our comfortable dining room provides a casual cozy atmosphere for dinner with the kids, a first date, or a date night with your best friend. We also have a large space for private parties and events.

The ribeye was the only thing that was good about this visit. We hadn’t been to The Depot in years but wanted to try it since they have new owners. I told them I had reservations, she checked the book and said that it hadn’t been written down. Luckily, (I guess) we were 2 of 6 guests there so it didn’t matter anyway. We asked if they had bread and our waitress replied, “Let me check. Sometimes we have it but sometimes we run out.” Apparently they had ran out because she never brought any. My baked potato was so cold that the butter wouldn’t even begin to melt. Salad was mediocre - not enough dressing and we had to ask for them to be brought out before our meal. My husband asked for ketchup and they brought packets like it was a drive thru and then that ketchup was brown when he opened it up. I had to ask for refills of my water. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the ribeye was coked perfectly and was full of flavor. It will probably be years again before we go back.

The location and ambiance is nice. However, several menu items were not available,which was a big letdown. Even one of the daily specials lacked a few components-so perhaps should have been taken off the chalkboard. The little table lamps, while nice and needed, kept turning off and not staying on, server had to switch 3 or 4 times. We were in town for a comedy show at the Corbin Arena, which was sold out. Seems like most of the town services did not anticipate an uptick in demand. This could have been a contributing factor to the issues we faced at the Depot. A couple passed our table and commented that they had waited an hour and still not gotten their food--we also waited almost an hour.(I had a salad and cup of soup, the others in my party ordered sandwiches) All restaurant staff was excellent.

I made reservations about 2-3 weeks in advance knowing it would be busy before the Leann Morgan comedy show …I want to first give the hostess kudos for being honest upon arrival. She stated we could be seated but we may not have our food before the show - reservation was at 5p and the show started at 7p. My group of 8 thought this didn’t sound right so we sat and waited. The manger came by and satiated we would not have food by 7p. The Depot was so not prepared for this event and they knew it was coming for several months. Poor management - poor ownership. We left and had to find another location to eat. Shame on the owners and mangers for not being prepared - I’m sure missed out on making good $$ that day. And I’m sorry the wait staff had to deal with all those patrons and it’s unfortunate that so many left because this would have been a great day for the wait staff on making extra $$.

The Depot on Main was excellent. Luckily we arrived early enough and they were not crowded that we did not need a reservation. Fortunately for us because they don’t even use OpenTable. Even though I was able to make a reservation, they had canceled their open table subscription/membership. This was very strange and and I’m not sure who dropped the ball on that, but the depot on Main is an excellent place to eat, and we will go back

There were not very many people in the restaurant however it took us over an hour to get our food. We rarely saw our server. We ordered drinks from the bar and saw them sitting at the bar for over 10 minutes before we went and got them ourselves. Once our food did arrive, the men got their food first and by the time the women got their food the men were finished with theirs. One person ordered the seafood boil and was told that there would be shrimp and mussels in the boil however, there was one shrimp and zero mussels, and the red potato was so undercooked that it was hard and un edible. My food would’ve had a great taste, except it was so cold. It was like it was microwaved for only 30 seconds. The baked potato was so cold it would not even melt the butter.

Entrees came within 2 minutes of salad, so had to alternate salad and entree so meal wouldn’t get cold. Meatloaf dry, burnt edges, tasteless. Mac n cheese essentially rigatoni with cheese sauce. Salad: cold, tomatoes off flavor. Three 2-3 year old children running around shrieking. Won’t go back

Normally this is our favorite place for date night. Not this time. The service was extremely slow. We sat for 30 minutes before we were greeted and our drink orders taken. The drinks didn't come out together. It took 40 minutes for my wife's drink to arrive. At one point she went and got a glass of water on her own. It took over an hour for our meals to arrive and it was not worth the wait. The presentation was horrible and my steak was half fat. My wife's lobster was over cooked and curled up. We will be back, but this was night was not up to the normal standards of the restaurant. Also if you are going to seat people in the extra room, please do something about the ambiance. It was to bright and loud.
