What Insiders Are Saying
The Corson Building, an elegant home that was built in 1910, has been repurposed as an upscale American restaurant. Come here to propose.
Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. We've been to the Corson Building for both the A La Carte (1) and Prix Fixe (2). The Prix Frixe experience was so much better. We did the wine pairings both times and that was quite an experience. For the Prix Fixe experience, you need to be comfortable sitting at a community table and talking with someone you don't know. On both occasions, we had amazing table neighbors that made the experience even that much better.
Winter is inside time and it's hard to keep an inside voice when good food and drink abound as it did Saturday evening at The Corson Building. It was our first time eating here, a Valentines dinner for my husband and I. We were greeted by the owner Matthew and handed a sparkling apertif . He had called the day before to see if there were any dietary restrictions which I thought was quite the personal touch. He also stressed "doors open at 630pm" . We sat in our car for a bit having arrived early and rain in a state of downpour. Family seating is the name of the game. We were at a 10 top and enjoyed meeting our fellow diners. I wasn't too sure about the family style initially but it was quite lovely. The chef and her assistants created scrumptious plates beginning to end. My husband and I left satisfied and satiated. We will return with the sun and warmth to take advantage of the outdoor seating. It looks lovely out there.
I love this place!
Beautiful atmosphere with 3community tables. You will meet locals who are foodies and see value on such atmosphere and PNW cuisine. Tonight food is inspired by Middle East- unique but not too much.
This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle, the setting/ambience is SO lovely, the food is INCREDIBLE, and it's always a fun social experience with the staff and the other guests. Seriously, nothing I ate tasted good the next three days after I ate here. The staff is so nice and welcoming, they helped my family identify a random herb the found outside in the garden. Being greeted with a cocktail is nice too. I can't wait to take a bunch of family and go back in the summer!
Over all our experience at the Corson building was exceptional! Fantastic food friendly people and all-around great vibes! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or special occasion! The food was out of this world we ate every bite!
The food is unfailingly delicious, invintive and unusual in it's ingredients. The wait staff are gracious, knowledgable, patient and understated. The building is a cross between a french and italian farm house with nice touches here and there without being fussy.
I have never been disappointed.
Really wonderful taste profiles. Sophisticated menu. Wines are pretty pricey though. Our waiter was really focused on other tables so that was a bit frustrating (about 20 minutes between our entrees being cleared to him coming back to drop dessert menus, for example).
The whole experience is unique and I do recommend trying out the Corson Building. The food was nothing less then delicious. We loved the prex fix menu and family style eating. Service started out strong but fizzled to nothing by the end of the meal, to the point where we had to go find him to get our bill, and then again to get our visa receipt to sign. The acoustics are terrible, especially if there are some raucous guest as there was the night we decided to go. The small space and brick walls are not conducive to really hearing each other, which is something our family actually likes to do. But the food was amazing and a couple of bottles of wind come to the table as included in the price of the prex fixe, even without ordering the wine paring. Which ended up being perfect for us. I would definitely return in the summer months when we could sit outside in the exquisite garden.
Went there for our anniversary. We found The Corson Building charming. The service was attentive and professional, and the food divine. Every dish we ordered surprised us with its creativity and depth. As everyone has mentioned, it is communal seating, which to us was a little strange at first but quickly ceased to matter. We will be back!
We were here visiting from our home in France. This is the best meal we’ve had in Seattle in years. Such interesting flavors and textures and everything was cooked perfectly. Plus Matt the owner is wonderful to have as a part of your evening.
We enjoyed the thought put into every bite of food. Very artistic food combinations with a lot of attention to texture and flavor pairings. We ate the best lemon tart I’ve ever had.
The one thing that was just okay for me was the seating. There are two long farm-style tables with multiple parties seated at each. The evening we were there it was mostly couples including me and my husband. We sat in very friendly proximity to another couple and it was hard to have an intimate conversation without listening to the adjacent couple’s conversation.
We had an incredible evening. There were 6 of us; because of the communal seating, there were an additional 4 people at our table - part of the fun was getting to know them! We had course after course of amazing food - lamb served two ways, some amazing seared scallops, a spectacular lemon tart. Special dishes (also fabulous) came out for those with more restricted diets. It’s a splurge - but well worth it!
There was a private party going on upstairs so the noise level may have been higher than it normally is.
New Years dinner was a well balanced affair. The staff was excellent and the dish quality was what you would expect from such a renowned restaurant. Thanks for a very enjoyable evening.
The Corson Building is one of those hidden gems that people hope to find before it becomes so popular that you cannot get into it and LONG before the staff starts leveraging their reputation at the expense of their kitchen to fill the house. Truly an exceptional experience with a perfect blend of 5-star service and food blended with a warm, come-as-you-are ambiance which is perfect for everything from a romantic dinner to a pre-theater treat. Great for groups or special events, the quality and creativity of the food is surpassed only by the wine list -- as a life-long foodie, I can say without reservation that every dish was a delight and a few were truly exceptional. Run, don't-walk, to the Corson Building. You will be glad you did!
Outstanding culinary experience. Would recommend for special occasions. Worth the price.
annual holiday dinner with friends. as always Corson Building does not disappoint. one of my top 5 restaurants ever. food and ambiance is impeccable!
Our server was sincere and knowledgable, never overbearing but always on point. I am still thinking about the food and wine- so good! The atmosphere was accommodating and unique without being overbearing. A great value. Had a fantastic time and will def be back.
I'd been wanting to go here a long time. We went on a Sunday night for the prix-fixe dinner. The food was good, but a bit too repetitive. The fish course was incredibly good, but the rest was not at that level. Our main complaint was the noise level: it became physically painful to be there as people resorted to shouting louder and louder to get heard which then just ramped it up to the next level for them to have to shout louder. I think I would like to try it again when it is warm enough to eat outside.
Thank you, as always, you are so kind and lovely. The food is tremendous, and even more so with such generous service. You make the meal. So glad we can walk to our sweet neighborhood gem.
Everything was so delicious with complex flavors. This is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Beautiful experience all around and would highly recommend. Impeccable service and food.
Amazing as always.
We can't wait to return. We had JUST A FABULOUS MEAL>>>>ALL 4.
The lecture and directions on how to conduct ourselves were a little long and took away from a direct experience of the space and the surrounding guests.
Service was ok, not exceptional.
The best food and the best service period!
Every dish they served was delicious! Even though there is the recall on Romaine lettuce the substitute for caesar was cabbage and macadamia nut salad that was delicious. More than enough food. We told them of some food allergies ahead of time, they did an excellent job accommodating! The atmosphere was nice and quaint. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back!
Simply amazing! The place is gorgeous and will make you think you're on vacation in another country! The staff was super attentive and the food was beyond delicious. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family! Definitely make reservations!
Delicious as always. Thank you for taking such good care of this celiac. It's such a treat to eat there.
Every bite food was incredibly delicious as usual.....That cod with the fennel, new potatoes and aioli. OMG. Love love love this place 😍
Great little restaurant in Georgetown. Fresh menus daily with Knowledgeable wait staff.
I can’t say anything but good things about The Corson Building! The food, the staff and the experience are all top notch. This is truly a Seattle gem and I am looking forward to my next visit to see Matt and team! Well done.
Best northwest restaurant I have ever experienced!
I truly love this place. its hard to say if the food or the service is better. but suffice it to say, both are consistently excellent. I'm always impressed
It’s always a wonderful evening at The Corson Building, particularly with friends who’ve never been there before. It’s such a unique setting and the food and wine selections are fabulous.
Best food I've had in a long time. The price was appropriate for the caliber of the food. Service was attentive and the music wasn't too loud. It is my new favorite restaurant and I will sing it's praises.
This was our first time at the Corson Building. Matthew was very accommodating and friendly (owner). The menu is small but delicious. We shared 2 appetizers with 5 of us and we each had our own entree. It was more than enough. It's a small, cozy hard to find place in Georgetown but we will definitely be back. The tables are designed to hold around 10 people so we shared a table with another group. It really didn't matter at all as we were able to converse with our group very well.
Great food and amazing building but we had to share our table with someone who we didn't know, this made the experience a little more disappointing. I wish we had a heads up on the phone at least
Outstanding food, wine and service. Enjoyed every single bite. Clearly presenting delicious and tasty food is a passion in this establishment. Wish I lived closer to Corson Building but it's a big commute from Charleston, SC
Amazing dinner at the Corson building! We loved the Greek inspired lamb and beautiful seasonal cocktails.
