The Clare Castle Port Melbourne is one of Melbourne's finest pub restaurants. Pub classics are a feature but we raise the bar with amazing char grilled steaks, incredible seafood including prawns, beautiful fresh fish, freshly shucked oysters and our signature Moreton Bay bugs available in numerous dishes. We also have vegetarian and gluten free options and many other delights.

We offer multiple dining options: FULL SERVICE in the Restaurant and on the Restaurant Terrace. BAR SERVICE (and optional QR code ordering) in the Bar and on the footpath tables. We also have a fabulous private wine room for your special occasion (please ring to enquire about this room).

    Higher prices, smaller portions of food. I came to this pub over a year ago and it was really great. Things were noticeably different. Sadly won’t be coming back. Great service staff and atmosphere was nice.

    Mixed experiences My husband absolutely enjoyed his meal however mine was very underwhelming. The staff were fantastic and the ambiance is quite warm and classy.

    Just phenomenal restaurant in every way. Clean, aesthetic, nice ambience, menu has a lot of options and caters to all kinds of dietary requirements. Service staff are lovely. Drink and food delivery is rapid & professional. DELICIOUS food. We just keep coming back, and I have 0 complaints or things I would change about this restaurant.

    We had dinner at the Clare Castle on AFL Grand Final night. The service, food and setting were all perfect. We shared a lightly fried calamari for entree. For mains, my wife had the veal schnitzel with mushroom sauce and a side of greens, and I had the wagyu porterhouse (medium) with peppercorn sauce and chips. All cooked to perfection and delicious. We'll be back again soon!

    I know it was a public holiday but the service wasn't up to the usual standard. Many times a waiter walked past without looking at the tables to see whether anything could be cleared or if anybody needed anything. There was a long table of men at the front of the restaurant that constantly had to put up their hand or get up and walk to the bar to get some service. Food as always was great!
